Ratings_icons A husband and paid observer's point of view . . . . .

Dan J.

As part of my job, I have been monitoring this and other related internet sights. After reading numerous postings, I decided that because I am familiar with and have had experience with this clinic that I would post my own review of the Grays Harbor Women's Clinic. 18 years ago my wife started seeing Dr. Anderson at the clinic. He delivered two of our five children, the next two were delivered by Dr. Kilgore and the last one by Lynne, the nurse-midwife. I often accompanied my wife to the clinic for her appointments and was always treated with respect by the staff and physicians. They were usually busy, the waiting room full, and sometimes we had to wait but I recognize that it would be hard to put a clock on each person's needed time and was confident that when it was my wife's turn with the doctor that she would be afforded whatever time necessary to take care of her needs. Dr. Bausher is my physician, he's a good man, good doctor and I have often had to wait--I suppose that's why where you wait is called "the waiting room," and my observation is that the staff at the women's clinic do as good a job as anyone in their efforts to take care of people. The bottom line is, in my opinion, that these are good people trying real hard to do a good job, an asset to the Grays Harbor community.
One other observation I would like to share is in regards to this type of website review. As I read the various reviews it seems to me that one of the main reasons people post a review is to dispute someone elses posting--not necessarily because their experience was so good or so bad that they sought out the site on their own to make a posting but because it's human nature to defend or criticize that which we like or don't like (let's face it, I am guilty of that myself with this posting) and I am certain that not everyone has the same opinion of nor had the same experience with the clinic that we did but I would beware of reviewers who try and support their findings with second and third party solicited observations. Let's not take cheap shots at the good guys.

I just came across this site for feedback about Grays Harbor Womens Clinic, when I was trying to google another clinic out of town. I read these reviews, and then thought to myself, why do they have time to be so kind and efficient to these people, and not to me. Did I not meet the criteria of a good patient? My last few appointments have been ok, but my most recent one is the reason I am looking for care elsewhere. Now reading all of these reviews it makes me frustrated. How do they determine who they are going to treat well, and who they are going to take back in a timely manner? I was talked to and treated rudely when I got there, (on time) for my appointment. I have been a patient with this clinic for a long time, but most recently I left without my questions answered. My nurse shuffled me into a room, with barely more than a hello, never asked if I had any problems, and left before I could bring them up. Then my actual visit, went the same way. I wasn't going to say anything. I just wasn't going to go back, but when I saw all of these other patients talking about the great care they received recently, it made me wonder. Why don't they treat all of their patients like that.

Ratings_icons Best Doctors in Grays Harbor!

Joanne S.

I have been going to the Women's Clinic for years now and recently was "recruited" to go to another practice in the area but wouldn't leave Dr. Kilgore & Dr. Rees or their fantastic staff for anything!

The care I have received for myself and my family has been tremendous. They are extremely professional, caring and understanding. At times, the wait can be a little longer than expected but this is generously made up in the service provided by the nurses, doctors and staff. The office is quite clean and tidy and the staff always has a good handle on the various operational components they have to juggle.

It appears there are now 2 choices on the harbor when it comes to women's health care but there is really only once choice for me and my loved ones and that is the Grays Harbor Women's Clinic.

Ratings_icons Grays Harbor Women's Clinic - A Very Professional & Caring Office

Vickie R.

I have been a patient of the Grays Harbor Women's Clinic since the early 90's and have ALWAYS received the most professional medical care. I have been seen at the clinic during three pregnancies and by Dr Rees for two of those. I have always been very pleased by the medical expertise provided to me and continue to see Dr. Rees on a regular basis for my routine care. Drs. Rees and Kilgore have made themselves available after hours when issues arose with my circumstances and the care I have received was extremely respectful and professional. The Grays Harbor Women's Clinic staff are long-term, knowledgeable employees who demonstrate compassion and understanding while recognizing their patient's feelings and needs. I would encourage anyone looking for an Obstetrician &/or Gynecologist to visit the Grays Harbor Women's Clinic, the care provided by this office is not only amazing but unsurpassed.

Ratings_icons Grays Harbor Womens Clinic of Aberdeen Impressed with Dr. Rees.

Heather O.

Amazing is the word I would have to use to describe my experience at the Grays Harbor Womens Clinic. I have never met such a friendly staff at a doctors office. Dr. Rees was my doctor at the clinic. He was such a nice man. You can tell he (along with his nurse) wants the patient to feel comfortable. Everyone at the office seemed very supportive of one another, and made an overall friendly atmosphere felt within the building. Definitely a practice worth checking out.

Ratings_icons Grays Harbor Womens Clinic - Aberdeen, WA 98520 - Amazing physicians.

Karen J.

I recently had the enormous pleasure of being able to be a patient at the Grays Harbor Womens Clinic in Aberdeen, WA. The facility itself is clean, and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The minute I came into contact with the staff I was impressed by their warm personalities and desire to be of service to each patient. My physician was Dr. John Rees. I have never met such a caring, professional, and respectful man in his field of medicine. As women, Im sure you can understand, it is not always easy to visit your OB/GYN given the sensitive and personal area of the body this type of doctor deals with. Dr. Rees was incredibly professional in his conduct and demeanor which helped me feel at ease. His nurse, Marcy, was also present during my exam. Marcy is a caring individual who was attentive to my needs. Dr. Rees took the time to address every concern I had, and in turn I was comfortable coming to him with my concerns. If you live in the area I would highly recommend the Grays Harbor Womens Clinic. It was worth my trip to Aberdeen to visit this clinic, thank you to all the staff.

Ratings_icons Excellent practice

Jan B.

I was so surprised when a friend told me about a negative review of Grays Harbor Women's Clinic, so I felt that I needed to respond. I've had some contact with all the providers in this clinic, and have never had any worries about their competence or their concern for their patients. My daughter saw Dr Kilgore for her second pelvic exam (the first was not a good experience in another office). He was gentle and kind. When she then needed a culposcopy, she had no problem returning to him for the procedure. Donnie, his nurse, was so supportive throughout the procedure. The 2 Nurse-Midwives, Lynne Schmidtke and Kay Zlockie have decades of experience in OB and outpatient GYN care. They are a great choice for those desiring a woman for their GYN visits. I've been in the office numerous times and have never seen the women at the desk be rude to patients. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this clinic to anyone.

Ratings_icons Patient here since this clinic opened

I have been going to this clinic since its inception way back in 1988. I have had all 3 doctors (including Dr Anderson) treat me for everything from routine "woman care" to pregnancys including several miscarriages. I have also had all three docs as sugeons at various times. I also see Lynne Schmidtke the nurse midwife as my primary provider. I have recieved extremely competant care from all providers. The office is very busy, but I am not sure that this can be helped as it has been the only womans clinic on the harbor for several years. I must say that as a nurse I know these providers are extremely knowledgable in their field and that they practice very safe medicine. I will continue to recieve my care from this clinic. Also as an added bonus check out the birthing center at Grays Harbor Comm. Hospital, you will not find a nicer facility or a better staff anywhere.

I have been going to the Grays Harbor Womens Clinic for years and would recommend it to any woman. All of the doctors are very busy yet still find time to treat you as if you are the only thing on their mind. The nurses are fabulous and friendly, always trying there hardest to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Their billing staff is also wonderful; one woman personal went out of her way to helped me understand the insurance process. This is the only OBGYN office in the area, so they have a lot on their plat; however they have just hired new doctors and other staff to help with the load.

Ratings_icons Harbor Pregnancy Care

Jennifer K. | insider Insider | Rank: 18,178

Unless you want to go to Olympia for prenatal care your only other option is this place.
I have had good and terrible experiences here. First let me explain the rating of 3 stars...4 for Doctors and nurses, 5 for ultrasound techs, and 1or 2 for desk staff.
The ultrasound techs are awesome, nice, polite and sensitive to your feelings. Very educated also.
The doctors ( I have seen or talked to almost all of them) are okay to good. They are rushed most of the time and don't take time to answer questions or even learn your name. I never once had one greet me by my name when entering the room. I have also had them lose my urine sample ?? and chart, read chart wrong, and forget me in a room past closing hours. I heard many many similar stories from other women while in the waiting room.
The desk staff is okay but there are a couple that are down right terrible. They scheduled me wrong a couple times and then blatently blamed me for the error...whereas I produced my appointment card and then the appologies flowed. Appointments are never close to your scheduled time. Usually you have to wait 15 to 45 minutes. They are ALWAYS busy. If a doctor is out delivering a baby they don't call you to reschedule, you drive in and see a little sign at the reception window saying your doctor is out and then you can reschudule-usually for a different day. I have overheard then discuss private patient information with an open window in earshot of everyone in the waiting area, one women simply kept saying she would like to discuss her medical problems with the doctor and not the receptionist! They have also ignored people at the window or spoken in a sharp tone when they do. They really need eliminate an employee or 2.
The waiting room is tastefully decorated and has a tv for the kids. Other family members and I still go here because it is closer than other options. I definately don't recommend this place though.

PROS: Ultrasound techs. Doctors to some degree.
CONS: Too many to list.
