The OSF Classics menu offers spaghetti with a choice of mushroom sauce, rich meat sauce, browned butter and feta-like mizithra cheese sauce, and more. Other popular favorites are the baked lasagna--layers of noodles, tomato sauce and four kinds of cheese--and the fettuccine Alfredo. Meals include a green salad, fresh-baked bread and ice cream.

This is a tasty restaurant with a busy atmosphere. There is food for any picky kids to adventurous adults. They can cater large parties which is nice when you want to take out the family/.

Ratings_icons Good Family Dining Not Bad for Larger Parties

TIffany J. | insider Insider | Rank: 20,261

We go early or as soon as they open and can get seated right away. The kids will even wait a bit if it means that they can sit in the cable car. The food is great for the price range and I like that the portions aren't huge, rather just right. Kids love the macaroni and cheese dish and the fact that they can choose the sides that go with their meals. The only time that I've been less than satisfied is when visiting with a large group of people for a birthday or other celebration. They don't take reservations so getting on the waiting list with a large group means a long wait at times. The service has always been excellent though so I would still recommend.

Ratings_icons Great family restaurant

Debra V. | insider Insider | Rank: 16,686

When you get that pasta craving, the Old Spaghetti Factory fills the need. It's a great family restaurant filled with lots of action and noise, so families with small children fit right in. The food and portion size is excellent for the price. It's a winner with my family.

Ratings_icons Great family place!

The Old Spaghetti Factory is a great place for a family dinner. We have some picky eaters in our family, but fortunately we all love spaghetti. The kid's menu is very affordable and their meals include drink, applesauce, spaghetti, and ice cream.
I appreciate how the employees greet and interact with children. They treat my boys as if children are valued customers too.
We try to come during the off-hours so that there is no wait and we can eat in the trolleycar.
Right now, Old Spaghetti Factory is promoting kid's reading with a free meal promotion. When your child reads 5 books, they are entitled to a free children's meal. Extra value for families!

Ratings_icons Excellent casual family restaurant.

My family loves this restaurant very much. The food is consistently wonderful. I love the lasanga, it's done perfectly. I highly recommend the garlic cheese bread! Also at the end of the meal, you get a small dish of ice cream which is about all the room you have left. It's a great value for the amount of food you get.

PROS: Affordable, Great food , and nonsmoking environment

Maybe according to the modern American's standards for portions, these portions could be considered "small". But only for those who are used to consuming about three times as much food as you should in any one meal. If you get the Baked Chicken, for example, you will get about 1 and a half cups of spaghetti with cheese and butter, and a chicken breast with marinara. It takes up the whole, decent-sized plate. And if you really feel so inclined, you can even "hearty size" a meal and get more. Also, all the meals come with bread that they will keep bringing to you as often as you want, salad or soup, a drink, and a but of ice cream at the end. And that doesn't include the appetizer if you get one.

The food here is nothing that can't be made at home. It's not high quality, but for the price, you can't really complain. This isn't the classy 5-star Italian restaurant that offers 4 or 5 different sparkling water varieties when you sit down. But it does take care of your pasta craving and leave you as stuffed as you choose to be.

The service varies. I've had awesome service here and really bad service. There are enough people around, including the bussers, so that if you need something, it isn't difficult to get someone to take care of you. Overall, an okay place to eat if you're on a budget or don't feel like making dinner.

Pros: Antiques, atmosphere, value.

Cons: Quality, sometimes noisy when busy.

We called "The Old Spaghetti Factory" to find out if we "needed" reservations, our reply was a very curt "No you put your name in and wait." When I asked if there was a wait list currently, the girl replied with "There is no wait right now but things can change in an instant" and she then hung up!

The Food was Sub-Par, the portion sizes were rediculously small, the Chicken Marsala looked and tasted microwaved. AVOID this place at all cost!

We still go there after 15 years. Since I was small and the cable car was the cool place to sit, spag is great for when you want consistant grub. Not too fancy, not too much food and not too expensive.

Pros: parking, price, people

Cons: lines

I had to wait a long time for a table. Then the portion of food I got I felt was rather small. Food was very good though. Friendly service.
