Gourmet, organic, creative

by Lori S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 107

I love this place! Even if I don't need anything, I end up buying lots because there are so many interesting things to try. I've made the best steak tartare using steak recommended by the Whole Foods staff here. I've had stellar wines. I love to try all the different cheeses and other foods, as well.

Looking for healthy and organic foods???

by George O. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,780

Whole Foods Market is known for their healthy and organic foods, and this location in Seattle is no different.

It is located off of 64th street in the University District area of Seattle and is not too far away from the I-5 freeway. It is open from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week, and this location has parking adjacent to the store (rare in the densely populated areas of Seattle) plus underground parking as well.

They carry a wide range of healthy and organic foods to choose from like dairy free or gluten free foods. Sure, the prices are a little higher than your regular grocery store, but a typical grocery store shopper wouldn't be in a Whole Foods Market unless they need healthier alternatives than what their local Albertson's, Kroger, or etc. can provide.

This Whole Foods Market does get very busy as there are only two stores in the entire state and both of them in the Seattle area.

PROS: Wide range of healthy and organic foods.
CONS: A little costlier than your normal grocery store and a tight parking.

If you fee like splurging, definately come here.

by Sara G. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,051

Whole foods has an unsurpassed selection of fresh organic produce, free-range meats, coffees, deli foods, etc. But oh man, do you pay for it. This is an expensive place, but it's definately worth it if you are in search of a particular gourmet item, beer, wine, or cheese. They also have a great health and beauty section, buffet with dinner and breakfast items. Also their dessert section is to die for. If you fee like splurging, come here.

PROS: Amazing selection of healthy and gourmet foods.
CONS: Expensive.

I like the Portland store much better!

by Sharon R. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,010

This store carries all the usual Whole Foods lines. When I shopped here the staff was not helpful, and the cashier seemed very bored to be there. The parking lot below the store is crowded and tight.Be careful.I like what the store sells but I don't feel as comfortable at this store with staff attitudes. They could try a little harder.

PROS: products
CONS: staff/parking

organic food

by Jasun W. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 699

The Whole Foods Market sells only the best and freshest organic foods. The prices are a bit spendy, but it's well worth it in my opinion. Very clean and organized - prompt customer service.

So big!!

by Hester S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 11,248

Though it may be overpriced, Whole Foods has such an intense selection of goods and deli foods, including great cheese and pastries. They also have ample samples often.

Great variety

by S M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,781

I like to shop at both PCC and Whole Foods for natural and organic groceries, but there are a couple things that I like better about Whole Foods: they are so big, so they have better variety than the PCC close to where I live in West Seattle. Also if you get things that are made by Whole Foods brand, it is actually pretty cheap.

The Ultimate Shopping Experience!

by Shelley B. | insider Insider | Rank: 19,559

Grocery shopping has been taken to the next level. If you are concerned about the food you put into your body, you'll want to visit Whole Foods, where the food is organic and the selection is outstanding. The bakery and prepared food section are like none I've ever seen. Underground parking is very convenient, as is the "food elevator" that delivers your food to the parking level from the store.

Expensive but awesome grocery.

by teri j. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,879

Although very expensive,
this grocery store is amazing. There is a reason it has the nickname whole paycheck .The salad bar is immaculate, and the prepared foods buffet table is the most inventive take on delicious worldly cuisine. It is a mecca for vegetarians, organic food buffs and gourmet cuisine.

Everything healthy under the sun.....for a price.

by Peter H. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,568

Whole Foods is the Death Star of health food stores. Huge, expansive, expensive, extensive - just about anything you could want if you have the money. Great produce, amazing hot and cold salad bar - lots of amenities, including espresso bar, bakery, juice/smoothy bar, places to sit and eat. The place gets packed on the weekends with lots of earnest people parting with lots of money for the best and freshest organics. Sort of PCC gone yuppie.

PROS: Good quality and variety of items - especially ready-to-eat.
CONS: Expensive. Often too crowded.

Natural foods

by Laura H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 11,186

Whole Foods is a great place to get fresh and organic foods. They have a great bakery, meat counter and produce sectionas well as sharing a complex with a Jamba Juice and other fun stores. The prices are a little higher than other grocery stores, because of their co-op like nature, but the people are friendly and the food is guaranteed tasty.

: )

by Justin W. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,431

Great place to go. The prices are a bit high but it's still great. And it is often very crowded. But the quality you get is far worth the price, and walking through the crowd.

Whole Foods, as many of you may know, is a great grocery store for organic grocery shoppers. The stores feature large selections of fruits and vegetables, wine, beer, cheese, a deli serving pizza, other warm foods, and an amazing salad bar. The pricesare high, but the quality and the tastes the stores offer is outstanding.
