This is a perfect place for a late snack when other restaurants around the ave are closed. The place is a little dirty but at 3-5 dollars for a meal, what can you really expect? I've tried the Chicken, Beef, and Falafel and thought they were all very good. If you want a good, filling meal in a low-maintenance environment, you should give it a try.
I love the Jumbo #9!! I also love the humous. The place is friendly and has great food. The building is old, sort of dirty, but I don't mind too much. The service is friendly. I can't think of a better late night place to go grab some grub. Its quick, good and not too expensive. I always take visitors and friends to this place, never had any complaints. Go check it out! The only negatives are the propaganda on the wall and that they only take cash.
Pros: Food, Service
Cons: Cash only, narrow entry way
A great cheap eat in the U-district. You walk in and within a few feet you're in the ordering line. Can be a little cramped with customers. Gyros are excellent and they also offer chicken if you don't like red meat. If you're a vegetarian then try the Falafels. Also great. Then grab a pop from the standup cooler and go to the luxurious digs in the back. A campy and none too manicured tent space with couches, or standard cafeteria tables. Oh yeah, its also a middle eastern grocery store.
Pros: Authentic feeling, Friendly, Great food for cheap
Cons: Some people smoke
