Great Food! Awsome service and a view to die for. Exspensive but worth it. I will be back. Would have already returned but its quite a distance from our home.

I went here for Senior Prom when I was 17 years old, and the place seems just as great 17 years later. I've gone here for brunch a dozen times since, mainly for special occasions and it rarely disappoints. If you're looking for a place to go for a special occasion this could be it.

Best steak in town! A little hard to find if you don't know the area...however, once you find it the view is beautiful and food is exceptional!

I try to go to a new restaurant once a month, and this month was outstanding. First of all, the view facing Seattle is amazing, along with the Marina in front. Beautiful ambience and interior with a waterfall at the entrance and blown glass pieces. Our server was very friendly- not pretentious at all. He was extremely knowledgeable of all the items on the menu, as well as wine to compliment our meal. He claimed that they had the best crabcakes in Seattle- and he was right! No bread stuffing at all, fresh crab and excellent flavor. I had the king salmon roasted on cedarplank and it was excellent, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented on the plank. My friend isn't much of a seafood person and had the duck which was also very good, nicely cooked with crsiply skin. Overall excellent. Last month I tried the Waterfront and this blew it out of the water!

On deciding to make reservations with a girlfriend I decided to look at the reviews to see what others had experienced. Our experience has always been 5*. My husband and I have dined there around 6 times. 2 times this past year. We do not live in the city so its a special trip on Mothers Day or B-days. My husband has always made reservations in advance. You can have valet parking if needed also. Our seating has always been on time w/out a wait or about 5 minutes and our seating arrangement wonderful. Maybe that is the key, reserving a table in advance. On Mothers Day 2008 my husband made reservations. The table had a huge bouquet of flowers, a card, pink roses sprinkled on the table. Wait staff this time and always previously and thereafter has been excellent. They are able to tell me exactly what I want to know about the food prep, ingredients etc. The wait staff has recommended wines and also if I wasn't sure, they would send the wine guru over which really helped. Although I cannot remember exactly what we ordered that time except the appetizer, Calamari filet. Was excellent, three good size filets, sliced, stacked with dipping sauces for only 11.00. The more recent trip for my Bday Sept 08 my husband ordered filet mignon, I order halibut. On arrival we both were very surprised on the size of his filet mignon, although we noticed he was served one of the largest portions (seated first). He took a bite and closed his eyes. I said its that good, he sliced a piece for me and I also did the same thing. Crisp, smokey flavor on the outside and like butter on the inside. Unbelievable mouth watering experience. What I like most about Palisades is that the meat & vegie no matter what I order has been cooked to perfection (pet peave). I always order seafood and its always been fresh and delish. My dad is a commercial fisherman and we have always been lucky enough to eat the very best of it.

we didnt like the food . The dish I ordered was burnt and my husband's dish was not properly cooked as he requested. The service was okay, not very friendly. We had to wait for a long time even if we made reservations in advance and reached there in time. There were not enough place to seat in waiting lounge either. We had to stand for a long time. The seating arrangement was bad too. Lots of ppl going back n forth..Overall it was a bad experience. We would not go again or recommend it to anyone.
If you want to have a good time and have your money's worth, try some place else!

Having Ambiance playing live jazz standards during brunch makes Palisade even better! I've been there a handful of times for special occasions and I don't recall any live music. It really makes the experience more pleasant and enjoyable. It wasn't too loud but I could still hear the vocalist. I love the brunch buffet and the delicious mimosas. Nice job, Palisade!

I was taken here for my birthday with a group of 10. The service was great, we all enjoyed our meals. The only issue was one of us did order our steak Medium well and got it medium rare, but he also didn't complain to the waittress for them to fix it, which I am sure they would have. (Also, who spends that much on a steak to ruin it by having it overcooked? whatever - no accounting for my friend's taste!) I got the crab cakes and scallops, and they were the best scallops I've ever had. Their calamari appetizer was delicious - perfectly cooked. Drinks were good, and 2/3 of the creme brulee trio dessert was good. (I just wasn't feeling the passion fruit creme brulee, but that is just my personal taste!) Views are beautiful and I would love to go back on a date night with my husband. Part of our group was from out of town (Miami) and they were very impressed.

Terrible service and food. We were visiting from out of town and wanted to have a good northwest style meal with a view. Well, we got our view but not much else. I would however recommend the happy hour at the bar. It is reasonably priced and the food is okay. After apps. at the bar we moved to a table where the first two things we ordered off the menu were no longer available, but the waitress failed to mentioned when we ordered. I also asked for a glass of wine which I finally received mildly warm about thirty minutes later. I could have overlooked the bad service if the food had been good, but it really sucked. The fish was overcooked and tough. The sides were also nothing special. This place is good for bad food and service with a view. I will never go back again.

You pay for the view at Palisade, not the food quality. Once again I see it as a chef who cares more about being fancy than putting out the best meal. Most chefs I know are not into it for the diner, they are into their own egos.

Don't get me wrong it is a great place to impress a date and you won't walk in the door without dropping a couple hundred dollars (not including drinks) But if you want food quality and better prices go to Scotts in Edmonds. It is more upscale than your regular bar and grill and it is owned by the same company. I had the halibut cheeks at both and like the Scott's version far better. The portions were larger and the price much cheaper. At Palisade the halibut cheeks had three different sauces on three tiny slices of breaded fish. Quite simply it was trying too hard.

In my last two visits I have sent food back. If you are taking a date I recommend they order the Australian Rock lobster it is expensive but they ahve yet to screw it up. Choke down your meal while they are impressed by the slight of hand which is the service and view. Service was good when it was there but they have gone to wearing earpieces which make me think that either they are secret service in disquise or they take refiulling my water far too seriously. With all the communication gear you would think that everything would have gone faster, but alas no.

I am never quick to judge and wouldn't write a bad review after a bad dinner. One bad mean, maybe you are off your game, at two, maybe it is just me, three and it is you, I am done with throwing my money into the Palisade hole.

Pros: View and Ambience. If you can get a reservation for just before sunset it will impress if yo uare snobby, this is your place

Cons: Way overpriced for the service and food quality. The marina detracts from the view.

Many people I know consider this to be their favorite Seattle restaurant. My wife and I have been there a handful of times, and have always come out thinking it's just OK. Their service is solid, but that's what I expect from an expensive restaurant. I've never left thinking the food was unbelievably good - only that it was OK considering how much I paid. It's a nice dining experience considering how much everything costs, but don't expect too much from the food - nothing special.

When you have out of town visitors and the weather is decent, it is hard to beat Palisades. It has a terrific view of Elliott Bay and Mt. Rainier. The decor is relaxing and the service is fine. However, the food is unexciting. They claim all of their seafood is very fresh, but that doesn't mean it is the highest quality, or even tasty. My most recent visit, I ordered a special halibut dish after being assured that the halibut was as fresh as it gets. It tasted frozen or several-days-old fresh. For the first time in my life, I contemplated asking for my money back. It was that bad. Another member of our foursome tried the "very fresh" salmon with the same result. The other two ordered steaks and our waiter reversed instructions on how well the steaks should be done (this is why a waiter should write down orders, instead of trying to impress diners with how good his or memory is). On the plus side, all of our salads and appetizers were terrific. One final peeve. When I ordered ice tea, the waiter told me the only iced tea that had was a sweet-flavored iced tea that most diners don't like. I was pleased he told me, since I hate flavored ice tea. But neither I nor our waiter could understand why they wouldn't also have regular iced tea.

I recently got engaged in Los Angeles and took my bride-to-be to Seattle to dine in their finest restaurants. My hotel recommended Palisade and called them and told them that we were going to celebrate our engagement at their restaurant. Palisade delivered! They delivered a limousine to my hotel to pick us up and brought us to their gorgeous restaurant which rests nicely on the water. They seated us in a great romantic 2-seater overlooking the water and sunset. They sprinkled our table with rose pedals and included a congratulatory card. Putting in this extra effort went a long way for a great night. Their scallops and crab cakes were impeccable and the recommended salmon and halibut were expertly cooked. Our waiter was first class and I told him to bring us whatever drinks he thought would go best with our food. Again, he expertly chose great drinks for us. At the end of the night, our limo was waiting for us outside. My fiance and I loved this place and would highly recommend it for any type of celebration. This restaurant is not as pretentious as some of the other restaurants in Downtown Seattle and everything was just perfect! Thank you, Palisade!

This is my first time ever leaving a review for a restaurant, I wanted to share how wonderful my experience was. I had never gone to Palisade before and decided to take my family (who's from out of town) there for Easter Brunch. Since we made reservations (recommended), we didn't wait long to get our seat. It was very busy there and we were still greeted and our drink orders taken within seconds of sitting down. The food in the buffet was very good and fresh, the prawns and oysters were properly chilled, and their famous pancakes were hot and delicious. The entree's were all wonderful, hot, and cooked to our liking. This restaurant is a definite 10!! I would recommend it to anyone. Even my family would drive from out of town to eat there again.

What a great place to cuddle with your significant other. The ambiance is so romantic. If you think you are going to get "lucky" definitely a good place for a first date or to impress someone.

We have been coming here for years and they have been around for years. It is easy to see why. A consistently great product at a reasonable price! Good food, great service, beautiful decor and one of the best Seattle dinning views! A great special occasion restaurant. They don?t bring out the whole wait staff singing ?Happy Birthday?, your table is covered with rose pedals and a birthday card and a simple complimentary desert. They also have a great Sunday brunch!

I've been to a lot of restaurants in seattle and i can say majority of the time i am very disappointed however Palisade never fails to disappoint (except for one time where the food was a little too salty).
Your attention is held from the moment you enter the restaurant; the ambience captivates you and the water decoration is a delight--even has sea life residing in it in addition to the koi fish. Try to get a seat by the windows which will only entertain you even more with the Seattle skyline.
The food is great--the servings are fulfilling and the service is great.
I recommend this place for any occasion.

I have been to some of the best steak restaurants in the country and my #1 is definately from Palisade. Everything on the menu is great. It is a bit out of the way since it is not right downtown, but it is definately worth the drive. Amazing food, amazing views, and great decor. It is great for special events or just a night of fine dining.

Having living in Seattle for 16 years I no longer have to go to the tourist restaurants for dinner. That being said, I kept hearing all the wonderful comments about this restaurant so I decided to take the leap and try it out. I called to make reservations for that Saturday which from May through September is a joke because they set aside the majority of their tables for all the downtown hotel concierge while the cruise boats are docked. I made a reservation for 3 weeks later. We arrived on time and waited 35 minutes in the bar because their tables were backed up. The service was efficient but rushed and the server behaved like she knew she would never see us again. The food was good but not equal to the price, the rushed feeling, or the wait in the bar. If you're visiting Seattle and your concierge can get you in by all means please go. I'll go to one of my favorite restaurants without the tourists.

My girlfriend and I went to Palisades for our anniversary (not a wedding on yet). I must say we had a great time. They provided a card congratulating us and further had rose pedals all around our table. The additional service was free, but it did make me a bit more generous in my tip.

Their prices may seem high or low depending on the types of restaurants a person frequents. Their steaks are quite competitive in terms of price with other comparable steak houses. For the service, atmosphere and experience, I would say the price was a great deal. $120 got us chowder, a crab cake, two entrees, dessert, tea, and coffee.

This restaurant is expensive, however, for a special event I would highly recommend it. The waitstaff is wonderful and will be very honest with you about what to order. They offer recommendations and great service. I am not an expensive restaurtant diner, however, this is the ONLY place I will recommend for that high priced meal. It is worth it. Great view, beautiful inside, terrific food (I really like being able to order off the first seating menu - it is surely a value). Try the ice cream dessert - its to die for.

Definitely worth the bucks you'll spend for a special event.

Somebody please propose to me here! This is one of my top ten. Most romantic restaurants. Perhaps, it's the cascading steps into the restaurant...the decor? The food is 5 stars. Service is excellent. Views...the arrangement, it's an experience. I will always love this restaurant, and their clam appetizer.

I love this restaurant because of the atmosphere and the outstanding food! If you have a special occasion, this is the place to go. I always get the salmon there and it is always amazing. Last time we got the banana icecream and it is soo good. I highly recommend it.

Service is always great. Parking is valet. After dinner you can walk along the marina; which has a view of the city.

PROS: great food, great location

My wife and I dine out frequently. We chose Palisade for her birthday dinner and so informed the restaurant. She ordered salmon medium rare. This is Seattle. The featured BBQ Salmon was overseasoned and overcooked. The replacement salmon was sent back raw as if the cook staff was passive aggressing us. My dish was also improperly cooked. The wine list was brilliant and saved the night but the food was inexcusable for a top of the line restaurant especially since they knew the night was a special occasion. A $75 apology coupon arrived today and they comped only one of the two badly cooked dishes. Salmon is an easy dish to cook properly in a restaurant and to resist cooking it properly is inexcusable in Seattle.

I was looking forward to eating at Palisade for my birthday dinner. I heard they had really good seafood. However, my boyfriend and I were very disappointed in the seafood. It was very dry, overcooked and bland. We spent over $120 for dinner (a bottle of wine and two entrees) and we feel like we did not get our money's worth. We will not be returning patrons and want to warn others to choose another restaurant if they want fresh, tasty seafood.

Every time I've gone to this restaurant (which has been at least 15 times) I have the best food, the most beautiful views, and beyond elegant dining. However, getting to the table is probably the most difficult thing I've dealt with since finals. The last 4 times I've gone there, I've brought 7 people with me. We've made reservations DAYS beforehand, and still we wait 20+ minutes to be seated AFTER our reservation time. Certainly they compensate with delicious appetizers, and copious apologies, but it's pretty ridiculous to have such a high-class restaurant performing in such a way.

PROS: EXCELLENT food, beautiful view, great for clients and business dinners.
CONS: Pricey, lack of punctuality, young waitstaff.

I think the Palisades should be voted Seattle's finest restaurant. There are steak houses and steak houses and seafood places galore but none match the atmosphere, price and food of the Palisades.

The Palisades is often overlooked by many people who just don't even know its there. They have great food, incredible scenery and much finer atmosphere than most other restuarrants in Seattle. Their view is to die for. Even if you go just to the bar and have an appetizer you'll always feel a little like being in the tropics.

When I ran a limo business this was the most popular place to take a loved one. It is also one of the most expensive. The decor is very nice wish and has a well kept fish pond in the entrance. The food is really good on the level with Canlis. I like the hard wood decor and the bar area is open and friendly. The appitizers are very good the lobster bree is super good.

The Palisades reminds me of being in
Hawaii. I love the building and its tropical

dinners, its a great place for appetizers
and drinks. Especially on one of those

Classy without being snobby, Palisade is a must for any Seattle-ite who wants to entertain out-of-town guests or simply give themselves a nice treat. The Sunday brunch is particular nice, with an excellent buffet of fresh fruits, delictable hot entrees, and other treats. On a sunny day, the view of the marina and a bit of downtown Seattle is not to be missed. Kids will enjoy feeding the fish in the open-air aquarium underfoot.

PROS: Delicious food, awesome view, cool walk-over aquarium
CONS: A bit pricey (but worth it)

My wife and I took advantage of the early dinner special (4pm to 6pm, I believe)-----it was a delicious 3-course meal with no lessening of quality, presentation or service due to this time-sensitive special offering (quite unusual for a gourmet establishment)---a very rewarding dining experience----they deserve their great reputation.

Overall it is a very good restaurant. But with new chef coming over their menu changed dramatically and a lot of great stuff disappeared. Service is always great, they have great e-marketing tool that attracts a lot of customers. Dine there and find for yourself whether this place is right for you. By the way - try Waterfron Seafood Grill - it is my favorite seafood restaurant now.

Had heard some mixed reviews. First thing I noticed was not the view but how badly the fake plants needed dusting. The buffet was Boring, 3-4 pasta salads swimming in their own mayo sauces, fruit which looked great but was disappointingly bland (except the pineapple), and nothing that impressive sweets-wise. Had the crab strata, $24, basically an egg-loaf and a waste of crab meat with hard crust on the top.The bill was outrageous of course, I could tell that before I ate but it was a b-day brunch, it would have been rude to send back my plate and leave. The view was nice and they definitley charge for it. I do have to say that service was good our server "Sean" was funny and real and very attentive. And the other review is right you can go in jeans or dress up and not feel out of place either way.

after knowing for yrs that this is a destination restaurant & frequently seeing limo's outside, i expected the food to knock my sox off. well, that didn't happen. definitely, the ambience is great & so was the service, the food was much too over priced ($75 for 1 shared salad, 2 entrees, no wine, and we used a coupon) and our crab & halibut combo was just ok. it wasn't bad, but i had expected it to be spectacular & it wasn't. i would like to go back, tho, and try out another dish & 1 of their rich desserts. i recommend tosoni's in bellevue, or cafe juanita if you're looking for an exquisite dining experience.

The table was ready with a birthday card for my wife and a few rose petals. My wife wasn't sure about a particular wine, the waitress was more than happy to bring her a taster before making a decision. Then my wife couldn't decide between two different entrees, so the waitress suggested that she could combine them for one plate...which my wife was a little surprised, but loved the result. Several different people were very attentive to us as they went about their jobs, offering to take our picture together with our camera, oogling over the birthday gift, etc. They were all always smiling and friendly. And we were kind of shocked when we went outside to give the valet our ticket, and our car was already there with a valet holding the door open. They created a very pleasant evening for my wife's birthday.

We went to Palisade with my husband for a Sunday brunch and loved it! The view is superb and the atmosphere is great. The open buffet featured fresh exotic fruits, various salads and delicious pastries as well as mini pancakes with nuts inside. The service was impeccable and our waitress was very polite and attentive. I would recommend this place, especially for special occasions and for out of town guests.

The Palisade restaurant is the one place that I go when I want to have a memorable evening. No matter where you are seated, the views are wonderful. I love to go there as the sun is setting behind the Olympic mountains. If I turn around to see my husband's view, the Seattle skyline lighting up, one office window at a time, is equally beautiful. Everything I have ever tasted there is beyond my expectations, and the blown glass artwork and indoor aquarium-type setup only adds to the experience.

I've dined there twice now when in the mood for a little luxury. First time was excellent - had the best crab cakes and filet mignion, our server was the best - very pleasant and served us without fault. Second visit was a little off, food was very good but our server seemed distracted and a little slow but it was New Year's Eve so that may have been it.

I took my best friend here for his 18th birthday and even though we were young all the staff was very polite and made our visit very enjoyable. The food was the best, and the view was beautiful. After having lived in Seattle for 11 years, I FINALLY got to Palisade recently.

For a place that is frequently mentioned among Seattle's best restaurants, I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Nothing was wrong, per se. The food was good, the menu was good, the service was good, it's a beautiful building with a great view, etc. But, I thought it just didn't have any flare or feel and had a chain/corporate edge to it.

A very good restaurant? Yes. One of the best in Seattle and a good value for the price? Close, but not quite.

Visiting from Portland, friends had told me about Palisade -- What a treat! The ambiance is exceptional from the first steps through the door, as is the service. Our server was efficient, knowledgable and gracious -- and the food was some of the best that I have had in the Northwest. I will be telling friends and aquaintances about my visit to Palisade for some time to come!

I love going to Palisade because of the food, service, and view. I've been to Palisade roughly 10 times, and have always had great food/service. Only once were the dinner orders screwed up, and they not only fixed it, but gave us a gift certificate to come back and use. I have a hard time believing some of the negative reviews. My experiences there have always been great.
My one complaint is the Guava-ritas. These drinks are sooo good, they're addictive. Which I guess is why management feels they can now make them smaller than they used to, and still charge 7 or 8 bucks a pop.
