Not worth the $. The service was horrible. Poorly staffed. If you want a long wait and average food, then come here. If your going w a big party, good luck to you! It will be the last time you go here.

I have heard great reviews from friends and family so i thought this would be the perfect place to celebrate my wedding anniversary. We were very pleased with the service. Our waitress was awesome and we even had another employee come by several times to pick up dishes or ask us how our food was (and it wasn't overly annoying either). The food was perfect too. My husband had the french dip with sweet potatoe fries and i had the chicken taco salad. Both were excellent! oh and I wont forget to mention the delicious bread they make themselves that they serve while you are waiting for your food. Our food and drinks were also served to us on a timely manner as well. I also liked how you can have some good quality food with great ambiance and not have to dress up so fancy. you wont feel awkward going in there with jeans and a hat on. We will definetely be going back!!

after a bad experience at a restaurant down the street, we decided to try the Bluwater on Greenlake. I always thought this place was a little out of my price range, but after seeing the sign for a new late night happy hour i decided to give it a try. my brother and i sat at the bar, watched a little football, and had great food AND beers for less than $30 bucks. food was great (love the prawns, and the artichoke dip is good n' cheesy), portions are really big, and our bartender was friendly without being pushy. Really like this place, sorry i didn't start coming here sooner. Great deal, good food, and nice big flat screens. perfect.

My girlfriend and i stopped into the Bluwater at greenlake after seeing their sign outside advertising a late night happy hour (late night being ten o'clock here in Seattle). We had a great little pizza with a crispy crust, some sauteed prawns that were awesome in a red sauce with garlic and olives, and two beers. Our bill was only $20 bucks! i'll take that price anytime. The place was nice- good music, clean- the service and the food were great, and how can you beat food AND beers for 20?

I hate overly crowded bars, and that's why I love the Bluwater at Greenlake. It has a nice bar with above average food and reasonable prices considering the menu. I don't get off work until later than most folks and it's nice to be able to go somewhere that serves a full menu after 10pm. The food is good, the drinks are good and I love the people who hang out there - honestly friendly, no snobs. Perfect neighborhood spot.

I'm usually the most positive person on the planet. I can always find something to like but I'm pretty hard core when it comes to breakfast. Me and a buddie jogged the lake the other day and thought we'd check out the BluWater for breakfast. BIG MISTAKE.
I've had better french toast at Dennys. And the price!! 15 buck for lame french toast and a small orange juice before tip. Way too much! The service was good and the ambiance is nice but there is a reason it's easy to find a table at 10 on a weekend. Give this place a pass.

I went here with my wife and while the clientele was young, fun, and having a good time (this was when the mariners were still relevant, and richie sexson started a huge brawl), the food was really awful, the service was slow and unhelpful, and it is WAY OVERPRICED

With the combination of BAD food and high prices; why would anyone come here? If you like getting sick and paying an arm and a leg for food then this is the place for you! My suggestions, crab mac and cheese which was too rich from the crab being far too old for consumption; and the spinach salad which tasted fine at the time but both dishes made me sick for the next two days on separate occasions. Even though I dined there almost two months apart and had completely different en trees each time, I spent the better part of the evening in the restroom as opposed to at a table. This restaurant clearly depends on it's ambiance and high prices, and NOT quality too survive. Somebody check too see if these people have food handler permits.

There were 4 of us. I ordered the Calimari appetizer, and my boyfriend and two friends ordered drinks. Our waitress was obviously flustered and wasn't writing anything down. She brought the wrong drink to my boyfriend, and it took her a long time to get it fixed. Our dinners were ordered right after we got our correct drink order. Me and my girlfriend ordered the Mahi Tacos, both of us requested NO cheese and NO sour cream since we are both lactose intolerant. Dinner was served before we were done with the appetizer, which not really was a problem except that they forgot my dinner. When I had to remind them, it came out with an obviously scrapped off patch of sourcream on the plate. My girlfriends was brought WITH sour cream and had to be sent back. My cole slaw had a scallop in it. My friends had raw tuna (it was sushi grade, but she doesn't like sushi and it WASN'T supposed to be there in the first place). She sent her plate back for a second time. It AGAIN came out with sourcream after we had told the MANAGER NO SOUR CREAM! She gave up at this point. During all of this, our waitress never offered to refill any waters and didn't refill a pepsi that had been requested and was sitting as close to the end of the table to make it easier for her. The manger decided to comp the one Mahi Taco order that had been sent back twice and he comped my appetizer to make up for the "scallop" in my food. When we got our check, the had added on the drink that we did NOT order and I sent it back right away. my mistake, I should have looked a bit harder. When I got the check back, I realized that they had also charged me for "extra tacos" on my Mahi order which I DID NOT order. I paid the bill just to get out of there. I called my credit card company as soon as I walked out and told them about the service and that I wanted to dispute the charges because it was THAT terrible.

Pros: Its a GREAT view...

Cons: Terrible service, they go for Volume and not Quality at ALL

My boyfriend and I have been to the BluWater Bistro in Greenlake a few times over the past six months. For the lack of a better casual, but nice dinner spot we have taken family members there when they have come to visit from out of town. The location is wonderful but the service and the food terrible. A couple of weeks ago my boyfriend and I decided to go there for dessert and coffee at around 8:30pm. When we sat down and our server realized we were only going to order coffee and dessert she immediately lost her friendly charm. When she brought out the dessert and poured our coffee the ENTIRE coffee container was filled with coffee grounds. It was so obvious she had to have noticed? we certainly did when we found a good ? inch of grounds at the bottom of our coffee mugs. The ice cream that came with the brownie for dessert was completely frostbitten. But worst of all, the server didn?t even come and check on us once or ask how anything was. She must have known she was providing terrible food and terrible service. It is just too bad they can?t treat all customers (whether they are there for dessert or a $200 meal) the same. Although we were only buying dessert that particular evening we have spent over $500.00 there over the past few months--- don?t waste your time at this one if you want good service and good food. There are certainly better restaurants in Seattle!

Wow, this place has changed. It's been a while since I've been to the Bistro and - while I never thought it was the best restaurant in town - it always supplied a nice atmoshphere and some pretty tasty food. I just got home from having dinner there tonight and was so moved (or unmoved) by the meal that I am writing my first review on Citysearch.

The service was ok - definitely friendly. But, the waitress was scarce.

The food was really terrible. Bland all around. Just blah. Banal, boring, dull, flat, and flavorless. Seriously, not good. We all tried each others' meals and each one was tasteless.

There are SO many restaurants in Seattle that serve better food at a lower price.

The food here is good and consistent. The decor and location makes for fun destination. THE SERVICE IS AWFUL. The wait staff is not just apathetic, they?re rude. I have been in on several occasions and have been completely ignored in either being sat or waiting to place an order - they just seem to have better things to do, chatting it up amongst themselves or with a handful of cherished regulars. In the past it was a frequent dinner destination (I estimate spending about $1000-1200 over the course of the year 2006) It?s a shame because I live in Green Lake and would frequent the bar and restaurant more often if it weren?t for all the false haughtiness and contempt the wait staff seem to uniformly display. I must say that I have enjoyed my dining experience at Blu Water?s Leschi and Kirkland locations - but definitely not Green Lake.

I choose this restaurant for my birthday dinner, approximately 7 people came. We had requested to sit in the front of the restaurant 1 week in advance when we made the reservation, but when we arrived we were seated in the back. The waitress was very impatient and rude when taking our orders. I asked to change my order after ~5 minutes after ordering and I was told ?No?. She didn?t smile or make any effort to be nice to us. When the dessert came, she placed it on the table and the chocolate began to burn, (I ordered the chocolate fondue), it took 10 min. for us to find her. When we told her about the chocolate, she picked up the container off the burner and dropped it onto our table. She then proceeded to pick up a glass of water that my friend had been drinking out of and extinguished the flame. All without saying a word, then she walked away. It took us over 20 minutes to get the bill from the time we requested it. The gratuity was automatically charged, which is why I think she treated us so poorly. We spent over $200 and were treated worse then if we had gone to McDonald?s. When I wrote a letter to complain, I received no response. Not even an apology. I would not recommend this restaurant, especially for a special occasion unless you would like your night to be ruined.

Had a very pleasant experience dining here recently. Our table of 8 all enjoyed our meals, drinks, and service. Nice selection of cocktails and wine. Bluewater Greenlake has a very reasonable corkage fee of $10.00 per bottle, we brought a couple of special bottles of wine with us to have with our meal. Mixed green salad was chilled, fresh, crisp and not overly dressed. My generous portion of roast chicken was moist and tender, although I would have liked a crispy skin. Potato side was quite good. My wife's stuffed mahi mahi was perfectly cooked. Our bread pudding dessert was huge and delicious. I'm not a fan of the Lake Union Bluewater, but do give the Greenlake location a try.

The classic eggs benedict was barely even warm when I got it and the English muffins were drenched in melted butter (not hollandaise. it was butter. there was some hollandaise sauce schlopped on top though). The $15 crab mac and cheese tasted OK but there wasn't much crab in there to justify the price. I came here because I liked the one in Leschi but the food here just wasn't that great and that is probably why there weren't many people there on a beautiful day.

The ribs are the WORST I've ever eaten......tough, tasteless and too sweet & sticky sauce. I would take them off the menu altogether. The salmon filet was overcooked. I would NOT go back to this place for food.

The Blu Water Bistro restaurant is across the street from Greenlake (they offer 2 other locations in Seattle). The atmosphere is great; neighborhood feel, great people watching in the summer & parking in garage. The windows (almost floor to ceiling) open on nice days so it feels you are sitting outside. Great place to relax on a nice day. However, the food is another thing. The prices are high and the food not worthy. I ordered ravioli and it was swimming in the sauce (sauce was consistancy of water). This meade the ravioli slimy and mushy. The artichoke dip appetizer had a layer of oil on the top of it. I would go for a drink and maybe desert, but not dinner/lunch.

I enjoyed my first visit to the Bluwater bistro at Greenlake. I went for brunch and was surprised at how friendly the service was. While I waited to meet a friend in one of their cushy chairs by the fire, I was brought coffee and some banana bread. The food was pretty good and big portioned. The only slight downer was the price. A little high for breakfast. But overall, with the service, location, and food, it's worth it in the end.

Take an unseasoned hamburger, add a surly waitress, who rattles off the beer on tap at lightening speed, and you have the dining experience at BlueWater. The great location, overlooking all the activity at Greenlake, can't make up for lackluster food and unfriendly service. There are so many great pubs in Seattle- and this isn't one of them.

BluWater Greenlake was a poor experience for breakfast. The food was disappointing and overpriced - my Texas Toast and Eggs came with stale cornbread and was way too soupy. My wife's french toast was soggy. It took longer to get our check than it took us to eat. Not an experience worth $25 for 2 entrees and coffee - we won't be returning. Be advised, as of today the menu prices are at least $1 higher than shown at the restaurant web site.

If you like salmon, Bluwater Bistro at Greenlake is the place to go! The past 2 times I've eaten there, I've ordered their Grilled Northwest Salmon entree. Wow! Crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and served with asparagus and potatoes. In addition, the cost was quite reasonable, the service was great, and hey, you're right across the street from Greenlake!

we eat at the bluwater by greenlake about twice a month. I have to say that the service and food gets better every single time we go there. The bar is fun and lively without being too packed or feeling like a pick up joint, and the dining room manages to be warm and romantic without being uptight. By far the best place in my neighborhood, no joke.

It doesn't get much better than this place, at least not for me. The location is ideal, the crowd is always lively, but not too excessive, and the food is reasonably priced and tastes great. After you're done eating, you can always go for a walk around the lake.

This is a great place to go on a summer night. Excellent service and a creative and broad menu. The ribs, served under a pile of perfectly fried and spiced onion strings, fall off the bone and are a highlight. There are also some good vegetarian selections. The bar service was excellent.

Thank God for Bluwater! Since moving north of greenlake i have been stumped when searching for a great restaurant without going all the way downtown. Great steaks! dinner till 1:00 a.m. Super Wine list!! forget palace kitchen! I can eat dinner at midnight and drink a bottle of wine without worrying about driving!

i like the way the room feels, especially w/ the big fireplace and couches. i think the place should do really well. it fits so nicely in the neighborhood. the food really was very good. best corned beef hash i've ever had!

Pros: free parking below, fire place/couches, bloody maries

.

Food just ordinary, breakfast seems to be an afterthought. In a city with lots of great breakfast spots, they need to come up with something that pulls you in. Staff was friendly and service was quick.

Definitely a step up from 6 Degrees, nicer ambience, nicer menu - but not unapproachable. Still gels nicely in that neighborhood, open air, dimly lit and romantic. Great staff, great drinks, food is fairly good, but slightly overpriced for the quality.

Overall, have been a few times and each a very pleasant experience.

I enjoyed my experience at the Bluwater. The service was fast, the prices were right and the drinks were cool. The view through the open windows to Greenlake is especially romantic for Seattle. I will visit this place again

I ate there with my girlfriend on August 6. Lunch was great, service was good, everything was fine...until they charged someone else's bill onto my charge account along with mine. 4 calls, 1 detailed fax (including my receipt and my charge bill) and two weeks later still no one returns my calls and they haven't credited my account. Not sure I'll go back to a place that slaps bogus charges on my credit card, promises they'll fix it again and again, but does nothing. Bad for business guys!

I like bars that serve bar food. It's often inventive, fresh (turns over fast), and, best of all, priced to move.

BluWater serves excellent bar food, inventive and substantial, and charges downtown prices.

Although it's not fair to rate service on just one seating, if I had to, I would characterize it as supercilious and sluggish. We went during a week night, there were a good number of empty tables, it took our waitress (who we called "You Got It!") about ten minutes to saunter by.

Ambience-wise, this is a pretty interesting place, but if I'm going to spend that kind of money on food, I'm headed elsewhere. Bar food, however inventive and intriguing, just isn't worth that kind of dough to me.

Pros: Location, Fresh Food, Cute Waitresses

Cons: Poor Service from, Cute Waitresses, $$$ !!

.

Okay, so the service isn't the best (good looking waitresses spending more time at all-male tables flirting for a big tip while neglecting all-female or couple tables), but the food is great.

Each item I've ever ordered there has been excellent! Whenever I'm craving food with lots of flavor, that's where I go...not to mention getting to make smores at my table for dessert - that has got to be the coolest thing ever!

We went there on a Friday evening and were seated right away. I had the baseball cut steak - it was cooked to perfection and very tasty. My fiance had the fish taco's - they were okay, but the tortillas were rather dry. All of the staff were very friendly and prompt - the only problem was that our server didn't write our orders down (a bad trend in service these days...) and got some of the sides wrong. Overall, a good value.

My husband and I had to meet friends here for brunch. Ambiance was very dull and dark. Service was slow, but our waitress was ok. I ordered a salmon starter which was swimming in thick butter- I couldn't eat it. Concerned about cholestrol, my next meal was tomato-basil soup. Quite bland. My husband fared worse than me. He had fish tacos that were horribly salty and bland. He couldn't eat his food either. Through out our meal, the fire alarm kept going off. At one point, the alarm blasted for about 4 minutes. It was unbearable. My friend teased a nearby chef- asking him to watch what they are burning in the kitchen. The chef reacted by waving a big knife at him. Was he being cheaky or threatening? After slow service and fire alarm torture, we were upset to get a bill. Never again!

This stylish restaurant has a great, although limited, menu of dishes. I particularly liked the stuffed pork chop entree and the garlic prawn appetizer. The chocolate-laden dessert menu could use something like a sorbet trio or other lighter dessert options.

The ambience is nice, and the lighting is good. Yes, it's full of the pretty people. But so what? The quality of the food is excellent, the wine list is good, and the service is pleasant.

We were treated so horribly, the service was terrible and slow, the food was ok. If you are really that miserable serving people, maybe you shouldn't be a waitress? I will never go back.

I had never been to the downtown location but the Greenlake addition is nothing to be proud of. Poor service, mediocre food, and trendily dressed, poorly trained waitstaff who were so plentiful they were tripping over each other. Food is typical fare, salads, steaks, chops, and a few bad attempts at seafood. Drinks were pricy and there is much better value in Seattle for 2 people to spend $50.

I went with 3 friends on a Saturday night and was very pleased. In terms of food, service and atmosphere it was a solid positive experience. The food, although not terribly original was very good and well presented. This pan-baked cookie with ice cream was awesome. All the staff was downright friendly and our server genuinely cared that we had a good experience. (I waited tables and know when someone is faking it). Yes the female servers are attractive but that's no reason to complain or feel threatened. The atmosphere is fairly noisy but it's an upbeat sort of place so that's to be expected. The crowd is Greenlake: no attitude and nothing like the trashy Lake Union patrons. I think smoking was allowed but by 11pm there was not a lit cigarette in sight. How refreshing. I'm returning for the cookie and Sterling Cabernet.

Won't go back. Bland, overpriced, uninteresting food. No atmosphere. It lacks the buzz of the Lake Union location and fails to integrate well in this new Greelake location. I was excited to see them open, and was sadly disappointed after my meal there.
