Val and Sandy have a love for animals. This love is evident through out Broadway Veterinary Hospital. I feel honored to know these people who have sacrificed and risked so much in the name of the love of people and animals. Any pet could not be in better hands.

Broadway Vetrinary Hospital and Dr. Sandra Coone is exceptional in every aspect of service and care. She save our dog after it ate something it should not have. The care was professional and the service excelent!

I have had two little dogs cared for very nicely and with wonderful compassion at Broadway over the past 5 years. They have a team of very professional, good communicating doctors. I get all my questions answered. Yes, I don't like the price. But the care seems worth it. And when they suggest something I don't want to do, they let go and help strategize alternatives. I have gotten in quickly when it was necessary and think they are good.

I have to be honest - I stop by at this place to check out both Vet- Doctors. Talk about cost to put pet to have phyical test and treatment. I did not put my pet go through with this place. I went different place work better for me.
I feel something not right about this place. I cann't make comment. I am sorry.
Thanks for understand.

The staff at Broadway Veterinary Hospital clearly cares about animals. If there's anything wrong with your pet, they'll recommend anything and everything to prolong your pet's life or cure the condition if possible. The problem is that they rarely consider cost and quality of life when making their recommendations. They also aren't shy to judge pet owners who don't opt for expensive and stressful (for the pet) treatments even when such treatments have dubious efficacy.

The letter the clinic sent me after my cat finally passed away was the last straw. Any future pets I adopt will not go to this clinic. Only go to BVH if you can afford it, if your pet loves injections and pills, or if you don't mind condolence letters dripping with sarcasm and passive aggression.

I have been taking my two cats to Broadway Veterinary for almost 5 years and have never had a single complaint. The front desk has always been very responsive, it's easy to get fast appointments and the wait time in the lobby is minimal. And the care they have provided for my cats has been outstanding to say the least.

Recently, we adopted a senior Chihuahua who had rotten, loose teeth and heart problems. We had to make a difficult to decision to move forward with dental surgery to improve his quality of life. The vets were great at not coercing me to make this decision and were great at explaining the risks associated with the procedure and also walking me through the process, precautions and important information. The didn't leave any of my questions unanswered and didn't make me feel guilty when I had doubts and concerns. When my dog went in for the procedure, I was confident he was in the best possible care and the procedure was a great success.

I can't thank Broadway Vet enough for their high level of customer service and for the great care they have provided to my pets.

I give kudos to Dr. Coones exceptional care and diagnostic ability. However, in recent visits to the clinic (have been going there over the last 15 years), I have been increasingly bombarded with marketing tactics by them that are subtle but obnoxious. They charge far more than other clinics for office visits and continually recommend frivolous, very expensive tests and procedures. I think for wealthy, upper-class households, they provide "Cadilac" care. However, I would not recommend them for the middle-class individuals who have to work for their living.

PROS: Knowledgable
CONS: Push unnecessary procedures and charge more than other vets.

We have been taking our elderly cat here for some time now, and we have never had a problem. She has needed to have a few procedures done, which can get costly but nothing to major. We are always able to come right down to this clinic without a long wait and the staff always takes excellent care of her, and us.

PROS: loving caring staff
CONS: high fees

I've had my cat checked up at this clinic a couple times. The staff will make you and your animal feel comfortable. The only drawback is the cost of pet care here. But it's worth it if you love your pet as much as I do!

We take both are new puppy and cat here. We absolutely love the doctors and staff. They are very reasonable and friendly. We always get the best service when we go. We will not go anywhere else.

I have been taking my new puppy here for several months. I would not recommend this vet. Each visit I leave feeling as if I have been ripped off and talked down too.

I used to own two kittens, Odin and Loki (they were brothers), and when we took them both in to Broadway Vet, they were treated with great respect. The male assistant guy was kind of rude (didn't strike me as much of a people person, or very experienced with freaked out cats), but the woman doctor was exceptional. The price was a tad high, but that's to be expected with most veterinary care. I don't know about their overnight care, though, as my kittens were only going in for routine shots and check-up.

I've also twice taken in cats that I've found abandoned. The first was 3 newborn kittens I found alone and crying out at Volunteer Park and the second was a large old cat that I found meowing and trembling down by I-5. Both times they immediately assessed the cats' health situation and jumped right on providing them care. With the kittens, they cleaned them and bottle fed them right off the bat, and with the old cat, they called the number on the cat's tag (some animal tracking company) and quickly got information to them to notify the owner. Of course I wasn't charged for any of this as they weren't my cats to begin with.

The cat I have now (lost the other two in the divorce) is healthy and fortunately her previous owner is a vet tech at another vet office, so she provides free service for my kitty whenever it's needed. But if that changes, I'd take my kitty to this clinic, even if it put me into debt for awhile. She's so worth it.

I worked at and took my pets to Broadway Veterinary Hospital for almost four years. I now live in Albuquerque and I am starting to realize how lucky I was to have worked with such an amazing veterinary clinic. I went to the vet near my dad??s house in Las Cruces and had lab work and a basic urinalysis done. We were given absolutely no feedback on the results. Nothing. The results were not terrible and only showed mild dehydration, but we weren??t called and told this. Nor were we given suggestions on how to prevent dehydration. After the amount of information I saw given to owners at Broadway Vet, I was very disappointed. Another woman??s dog was defecating in the house. Her vet gave dewormer, but did nothing else. I was able to use BVH??s web site to search for information about housetraining that she used to fix the situation.
While looking for veterinary care for my own cats, I have asked about the amount of Continuing Education received by the staff, about the kind of equipment available to diagnose and treat my cats, and about their philosophies when it comes to preventative care, and no one has even come close to the standards I saw at Broadway. All I can do is choose the clinic that comes closest, the one that makes me cringe the least when I think of the care I am used to receiving.
Broadway Veterinary Hospital is constantly keeping up with the kinds of technology that really help pets. They want to train and empower their staff. They really care about the pets and the clients. I cannot tell you how many times I saw members of the staff cry over a pet that just didn??t make it.
I like the longer days here in the Southwest, but I will never stop missing Broadway Vet.

Pros: compassionate care, help owners make informed decisions

Cons: not close enough to me

I've been coming here for years and have always been treated fairly and have received professional care for our tabby (who is a finicky guy sometimes!). My girlfriend also brings her two pit bulls here and has had nothing but great treatment from the vets here. Kudos

I have never had a more negative, frustrating, and disheartening experience with a veterinarian than with Dr. Gertinger and Dr. Cornman. My boyfriend and I had to take our very ill kitten to their clinic three times in one week, and they made it clear they that didn?t have the best interest of the animal or its owner in mind. They suggested even more excessive diagnostic tests after we had already done several different unsuccessful tests and it was clear that our kitty's chances at recovery were very slim (and only possible if the cat were hospitalized with them for at least a month with a feeding tube placed). On two occasions did they not return my phone calls for a whole day when my cat's condition was clearly critical and we needed to make decisions urgently. Lastly, only after first suggesting that we do more invasive and expenisve tests, did she admit that it might be best to have him euthanized. I later fount out that she suggested to my boyfriend that we keep our sick kitty quarantined from our other cat, for reasons I don?t understand. By this time, I had done a great amount of my own research on our kitten?s condition, and of the two possible diseases he had, neither were contagious! Did she really want him to spend his last days sick and lonely without his friend?
Our cat had a seizure on the next day, and it was clear to us that we had to put him out of his misery as soon as possible. When we called to let our vet know we were going to come in for the procedure, we were told that there were NO AVAILABLE APPOINTMENTS! In the end, we had to drive him all the way across town to an Emergency Clinic. It pains me to think about how this all would have ended if we had listened to the Doctor?s suggestion and gone through with more tests. Our little kitten would then have spent his last day at a doctor?s office undergoing all kinds of invasive procedures. Or he would have been in a room, by himself, without the comfort of his friend.

Earlier this year I had the grand misfortune of almost losing my pet to their greed and ineptitude.

My older kitty was suffering some serious, but manageable (it turns out), problems requiring diligence and careful monitoring. I brought my kitty to their hospital and initially believed he was in good hands. In reality, they were not monitoring him in the fashion I had asked. When I enquired to his progress, they would tell me that his condition was not improving. Upon review of the bill (an invoice they wouldn't provide for me until AFTER the ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR bill was paid in full) I discovered that they were LYING to me. They hadn't done any of the specific, simple tests that were the ONLY way to assess his progress. They prescribed him 4 weeks of antibiotics for a one week stay (administering 1/4 of it while he was in their "care" and shafting me for the rest).

They told me he was eating normally, but when I purchased the food THEY sell and brought it home he wouldn't touch it! It took me 30 minutes with a wet towel to wash the crusted antibiotics out of his fur (he's a squirmy guy) and he'd lost a considerable amount of weight.

They kept my cat for an entire week (I finally decided that something was dreadfully wrong and removed him --against their wishes) in the PROCEEDURES ROOM! He was eye level with the proceedures table. He must have believed that I abandoned him to a kitty torture chamber.

I took my cat home and made an appointment with Dr Boudreaux at the Capital Hill Animal Clinic (BEST VET I'VE EVER SEEN) and the cat that the vets at Broadway were telling me had 2 weeks to live has now gained ALL the weight back, his health is improving! He's my best friend and cost isn't the biggest issue (I'd do anything for him) but! It's also like 1/10 the cost!

I seriously believe that all professional monitoring entities in the state should be keeping very close tabs on these people.

Every doctor and technician at this clinic is knowledgeable, compassionate, and extremely considerate about what owners can and cannot afford. They give the absolute best care to my animals, and they always give me pricing options, like, here's the best thing to do and the most expensive, or we can get most of what we need to know with this cheaper test, etc. When my dog has an annual exam, they ACTUALLY EXAMINE HER. Seriously, head to toe, every system. Their compassion, their knowledgeable staff (even and especially the reception!) have earned by eternal loyalty. Two paws up!

THIS WAS THE WORST VETERINARY CARE I HAVE EVER RECIEVED IN MY LIFE!
not only were they expensive {overcharged}, but when i arrived to pick up my puppy from boarding for 10 days she had lost a great deal of weight. The nurse explained to me that she had "attitude" when they tried to give her shots and nipped at one of the technicians. I was worried & asked if the bite was serious, "no. didn't break the flesh." he explained "just attitude". He proceeded to explain how because of this behaviour she was placed in a quarantine of solitary confinement for 6 days. I couldn't believe it. She weighs 3.6 lbs. He said that she wouldn't eat & therefore wouldn't use the bathroom, so they gave her an enema. Never once did they call me to let me know of this problem they were having with. He recomended I pay $250 min. for a consultation w/a dog behavioral specialist through them. The day I picked her up she drank so much water she threwup & couldn't jump up on to things because she was so weak from not having any nutrients. 2 days & she is finally starting to get back to her normal self. I was so appaled at this I felt it necessary to write a letter warning everyone of this clinic. They use high prices as a cover for their seedy operations. They charged me for all of this sh*t I never asked them to do, like clip her nails $35! I noticed that they keep some dogs outside in gravel cages. I saw a miniature poodle, maybe 10 lbs. in one. It has been regularly below freezing. They don't walk the dogs while they're boarded. The people at the front desk are wonderful, which fooled me. I had met the veterinarian previously and didn't like her right away. She reads too many books about caring for dogs that her ideas of care are so far out she thinks hugging your dog too much is harmful to its behaviour. While i dissagree with her, I never thought my dog would be in danger there. hope you listen & take your pets elsewhere X

I do NOT recommend this vet- boarded my cat here one time and in my absence they ran 400$ worth of lab tests on her when I had specifically asked them to call me if any sort of examination or care was needed. Very expensive vet- I'd instead recommend Cat Clinic of Seattle over on Stone Way- they seem more reasonable and upfront about costs and I never feel as though they're doing excessive work just to get more money.

I have taken my dog here for three years and am sad that I will be leaving my vet behind when I move to Seattle. As to previous concerns to the cost. It is a bit spendy but, you get what you pay for. Also, I have had no problem arranging payment plans. As to not getting an itemized list of charges I have never seen this to be true. Recently I took my dog in to get several teeth removed and the rest cleaned. The technician sat down with me and explained every item on the lists(and it was a big list). Also when I requested to be called if the procedure might go over the estimate they had no problem with that. It came in under budget, by the way.

I am not a veterinarian so can't say for sure, but I have a feeling these people overcharged me. I took my very old cat there because his kidneys were enlarged. After doing several tests, all they could tell me was that a) his kidneys were abnormally large; and b) several blood and urine tests revealed that he was in the early phases of kidey failure. For some reason, all this cost me $350. I tried several times to get a breakdown of exactly what I paid for, but could never get a straight answer. The staff are very nice, but I would absolutely go elsewhere if you don't have infinite financial resources to spend on your pets, and if you're concerned about what you're being charged for.

Pros: very nice staff

Cons: too expensive

I will completely agree with previous reviews that the care at this facility is top notch. The staff is very courteous and takes great care of our pets.

Unfortunately, we were told that there were certain tests that needed to be run. We were advised that sometimes the samples could die before making it to the lab. We accepted that risk. After getting results back, we found that the samples did in fact die before getting to the lab and we were informed that they can never get the samples there in time. I feel that if it's "never" a successful venture, it's not a solution that should be offered to a patient and I should not have had to pay. It only resulted in nail-biting for results that were never going to come back.

I recently took my sick cat to this clinic, which I had never been to before. My cat was sicker than I thought, and I had to make the tough decision to put him down. Through the entire process, the vet Sandra Coon and the entire office staff were incredibly helpful and comforting. I've never been to a vet before that so caring, and who's office staff went out of their way to make it as painless as possible for me. It's like they are also trained grief counselors as well as vets. It will be a while before I get another cat, but when I do, I won't take it anywhere else for it's care. I take comfort in knowing my cat parted this world in such a positive and warm environment. Thank you Broadway Veterinary Hospital.

As a recent transplant to Seattle, I was nervous about needing a vet for my Bella in an immediate care situation. Broadway Veterinary not only surpassed my expectations, but provided the best "bedside manner" and care that we have ever received. They did not request frivolous tests and gave Bella just the right amount of care. The doctor, the assistants and the office staff were all very nice...and they even made 2 follow-up calls to check on her status.

They will always be our vet!

Broadway Veterinary Hospital provides the best pet care I've ever experienced. The doctors, technicians and staff all take the time to listen to your specific problems and concerns and then clearly explain their procedures. They dealt with my very ill, yet fractious cat with great care and patience. I was especially appreciative of their sensitivity to my limited financial means and proscribed a plan of action that would allow me to continue to care for my cat without bankrupting me. I'm impressed with their professionalism, efficiency and sincere caring. Be sure to checkout the scrapbook in the lobby filled with cards and letters of thanks from other happy and satisfied patients and their owners.
