Referred by Home Depot for a water heater installation. Home Depot estimates about $309. After talking with Fast Water Heater Company??s representative over the phone, he asked for $359 for the full installation with installing free earthquake strips. The representative talked us out of buying from Home Depot since he thought we might order a wrong water heater. He will send a inspector to the house and offer a free estimation. The installation man came to the door and said he has a right water tank ready in his truck before checking our water tank.

The total price given to us for the installation is around $1000, not $359 besides we need to buy the water tank for Fast Water Heater Company, not from Home Depot. We asked to talk with the rep who gave us the quote over the phone. Conveniently he was not available.

I feel it is sad that Home Depot referred us to a contractor that cuts Home Depot??s business by pushing its own product. We felt strongly Fast Water Heater Company??s action is a dishonest business practice and wasting people??s time.

Fast Water Heater Company has an exclusive contract with Home Depot in Washington. Whenever you contact with Fast Water Heater Company, be aware!!!

The wife woke up to a cold shower yesterday. I checked the tank. It was leaking from the bottom. I called 3 places: Benlas water heaters, Action water heater (disconnected), and Fast Water Heater. The sales person on the phone from Fast made me aware of a new Federal tax rebate to install a more efficient appliance. I decided to have Fast come out because she told me about the rebate and she said they pull a permit. (Be wary of any company not willing to get you a permit as a standard business practice. I am still dealing with my insurance company on a claim for a deck I had done under the table. they are refusing to make good on my claim because the contractor I used did NOT pull a permit.)

Fast had a guy to my home the same day. He gave me a bid for both a tank and the tankless type system. I couldn't believe the difference was only $850 after the rebate. They also told me PSE is gonna cut me a check for a cool $150, so the final difference is only about $700. I decided to have him put in the tankless. He didn't have enough parts to do it yesterday, but he said he would be back to my house today, which is a Saturday.

I can say that I couldn't be happier. I just hopped out of a 45 minute shower and I didn't have my wife yellin at me to get out. Their guy was back at my house today at 9am and wrapped up the job at 4pm today.

I see some reviewers on here bashing these guys for bait and switch. I think they just don't get it. If you want it done right WITH A PERMIT so you don't have headaches in the future it is gonna be a bit more money.

Give these guys a shot.

These guys came same day and replaced the water heater. I paid $1,200 all in but they did pull a required permit. My brother law who is a plumber (who lives on East Coast) looked at it when he visited. He told me the work was high quality. He also confirmed that everything they did made sense. I had issues with pressure and according to my brother in law the way they installed it would make the thing last 2x longer. I did not pay until I had a complete price. This is also an appliance that I think is a bad idea to have a handyman install. My 2 cents...

Neighbor had these guys out. I had two companies to the house when our gas heater went out. The main difference between this company and the other one that came out was that the other one was willing to do it without a permit. I compared two estimates and apples for apples these guys were less for what I was getting. It ended up being slightly more because of the permit though. Overall professional, clean and up front.

I've never had a contractor try to rip me off worse than these clowns.

These guys are outrageous criminals who have no shame. I paid $1,100 to Home Depot for a new water heater including installation. I understood that to mean the total price. Home Depot did mention that there might possibly be some small additional charges, but the rep that I spoke with told me that it would be definately under $100 for any additonal parts or services.

They come out to my house and tell me that I need about a dozen parts and extra installation charges to bring me up to "code".

Those additional items cost over $1,900 (on top of the $1,100 I paid to H.D) You won't believe what some of these charges were and what they tried to charge me:

They wanted $200 to put down plastic sheeting on my carpet because they said it was white (it's beige). $299 to bring the water heater upstairs that they called an "access fee". (Remember I already paid H.D. $400 for the install.), $200 to swap out less than 2 feet of venting to a double wall vent ($50 on ebay), $589 to put on a watts 210 valve ($75 on ebay) $269 to install an expansion tank ($57 ebay), $289 for a flood stop valve ($100 on ebay), $41 to install and grease the gas valve, $44 to install the sediment trap, and on and on and on.

I told the installer that there is no f*cking way that this is happening (all of the extra charges); and that you will not steal from me. He took that to mean he should leave, smart man.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS, unless you want to get robbed!!!

Switch and bait here too and they were worse than a used car salesman. Beware!!!

So I was looking to replace our 17 year old water heater. These guys quoted me $799 for a 50 Gallon M4 Bradford White. This was about $200 less than anyone else quoted me so I decided to give them a chance with there 'Free In-Home Estimate' eventhough they had mixed reviews. Rep gets out here. Appears sheepish, unshaven and barely utters a 'hi'. Then spends 30 minutes inspecting our current system. Calls me down for the quote. There are at least 5 add on items and the new total for install with tax is $1800!!! Additionally the model he quoted on his written esitmate was an inferior 40 Gallon MI Bradford White. The add on 'Earthquake Strapping' was now $79 and I was quoted $55 on the phone. Long story short over the period of the next hour he would go out to his truck talk to his boss and come back with a lower price. This happend 4 times and he eventually came down to $1450. I wasn't trying to get a lower price out of him I was just trying to send him on his way. One of the add on was for new 4" venting which was 'required by code' for the new water heater according to the rep. However, little did the rep know, I had the specs sheets in front of me for the Bradford White and 3" or 4" would have been fine. I don't trust this company one bit!

I ended up using Advantage Water Heater Co. out of Everett 425-397-8884 and would highly recommend them. Like night and day in comparision and Advantage was several hundered dollars cheaper too.

I called Fast Water Heater Company to schedule a technican to come out to my apartment to give me an estimate of how much it would cost to replace my hot water heater. The person I spoke to on the phone quoted me $900+ after getting the Make, Model Number and Capacity of my tank. Since I had another company quote me almost $4000, $1700 for the tank alone, I asked this guy why his quote was so low. First warning sign, he questioned why I wanted his technician to come out if I already had a quote from another company. Second warning sign, he proceeded to asked me more questions about my tank and then doubled his original estimate. Third warning sign, after I asked him why his quote doubled, he admitted that he couldn't find the my tank's model in his inventory and was giving me a quote for a generic hot water tank. Needless to say, I told him I didn't want his technician to come. He readily hung up the phone, too.

These people do installations for Home Depot, which sold us the water heater. The installer came on time and was courteous and sounded like he knew what he was doing, but he said we needed all sorts of upgrades to pass building code inspection. The price given to us over the phone by Home Depot was $894 including the permit, but the installer said we needed additional work and more money for the permit, which bumped up the price to $2000. We cancelled the installation because we knew we could get a better deal on a professional installation without feeling ripped off.

I used these guys. They did high quality work. Had one other bid that was cheaper but the guy was not going to get a permit. Had it inspected and the inspector actually told me they tend to have the highest quality installations he sees and that they know what they are doing.

I had a friend who used Beacon plumbing and it was 2x what this company charged me for what seems to be high quality work. I guess you need a permit for these - this company will not do the work without pulling a permit which for me was a positive but for others might not be. I think you can get this on the cheap if you use a handyman but I guess I figured they are messing with my gas line and the thing vents carbon monoxide....So, I didn't want to go the handyman route.

Fast Water Heater came promptly and were courteous. As far as we can tell, they did a great job of installing our new gas water heater the same day; however, when the bill was over $1,500 (coupon price), our friends told us they installed theirs for $300! We did need some adjustments to the venting, but the labor time was only about 1 1/2 hour total. They were fast and efficient but way overpriced.

My grandmother called these guy's out because her water heater quit working over a month ago. They showed up and took her old one out & told her that they would have to order a new 30gal tank & they would be back to install it in 1 week.2 weeks had passed before they finally came back. When they pulled the new water heater out to install it,she noticed that it was all dented & looked beat up so she told them if she was paying for a new one then it should look new. They said they would take it back & order a new one & be back the next week. This time 2 -1/2 weeks had passed and she hadn't heard a word. She finally called me for help because she had been without hot water for over a month.I found a new water heater the next day for 1/4 of the price that FAST was going to charge her & I put it in that day for her.I don't know what their excuse is & really don't care to hear it but all I have to say is that if I was able to complete this job in 1 day with no prior experience & for 1/4 of what they wanted to charge, then I guess I'm in the wrong business.I think it's more like they are in the wrong business though. No business should be ran like this & the best way to stop this from happening to you or others is to listen read what others have to say about their experience with a company first before you use them & the next time you hear someone say they need a new water heater let them know what you heard about FAST!!!

We almost didn't call this company because we saw one poor review on Judy's book. We called 3 companies, this is the only one that could make it same day.

We called them when we had white flakes clogging up our sink.

Anyway, to make a long story short, we initially sent them away because there were additional charges (which they did actually prep me for on the phone...). To be up to safety code, they told us we had to install a little tank on top and strap the new heater to the wall.

Anyway, although we didn't have hot water, my mom lives close by and we were staying with her while the water was out so I had two other companies come and give bids.

Fast ended up not only being comparable in price to the other two but they were overall way more professional. We did some web research and a gas water heater can actually be a dangerous appliance. So, we went with these guys.

We initially had sticker shock at the price (expect $800-1,200 all in) but of the two other companies we called, one was about the same and the third was several hundred more.

Anyway, I thought I would write this because I found a poor review of them and after having done the research and met with two other installers, these guys were who we went with and we were happy.
