My family and I had house repairs for 6 weeks that made it impossible to live in our home. We stayed in several hotels until the last week when we were so cramped and tired of eating pre-fab breakfasts, we left our town (near Everett) and came to the Sands. Wow! It was like home away from home with full bedrooms and a living room and a real kitchen! We could cook our own meals again: REAL FOOD, a dining table, a couch...all within walking distance to the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only drawback was no cable tv but we rented a dvd player and converter from a local merchant and enjoyed movies--and of course the local channels. The rocky mountain motif was warm and clean. BTW: we'd had reservations at the Casino, and while it was beautiful, the windows had broken seals so there was condensation between the panes making it hard to see the ocean, the pool was shallow and a murky green...it was NOT a family-type place (Great if you want to gamble, drink, and glam it up). But at the Sands, the towels were thicker, the pool was clear and clean and the beds were comfy. I can't describe how grateful and comfortable and relaxed we were to find the Sands!!!

My boyfriend and I had a bad experience in Westport so we decided to take a trip to Ocean Shores. The first place that caught our attention was the Sands Resort. The front desk was absolutely nice and very professional and we totally loved our room. It had a beautiful view of the ocean and the layout and design of the room was very modern and charming. The bathroom was immaculate! I would definately stay here again. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that we could hear the people on the top floor walking other then that, it was a great place to stay at.

The Sands Resort doesn't have what it looks like on the website. We thought we would have a somewhat modern, nice room when we booked our weekend. When we got there we were surprised. The rooms look like they haven't been updated since the '60's. They did have ocean views and you can walk right on the beach from your patio. That was the only nice thing about them. The hot tubs are not private and don't have accomodating hours for lovers at night. In general we were greatly disappointed.
