The wait is usually long. It is a small cafe and very busy. If you are expecting Mc Donalds fast service then go there. This is a down home country cafe and the signs in the place will tell you how the truly feel about you, like, "you think we are talking about you now... Wait till you leave."
plus,I don't know if they still have a Greyhound station there, as well, but the owner would get on his fisher price P.A. and announce bus departure. true comic relief .
Giant pancakes, thick cut bacon, huge cinnamon rolls .

Recently my family and I went into this well hidden breakfast location only to find slow service and really bad food. Service was poor, with our older, dark haired waitress talking with a back of the house member we received little or no attention. After a long wait we finally received our food. The hash-browns were overcooked, eggs way undercooked and overall just poor. Not to mention once the waitress confronted the cooks with our poor dishes, they couldn't even understand what she was saying. This place has potential, but is lacking in quality and promptness. Prices are high but value's are way way down. I highly suggest going down the street to the newly remodeled dennys!

Pros: Nice decor. One "american" cook in the Back of House.

Cons: Food, Service, ambience and quality. Prices and values.

The food is not what you call spectacular but it fits the idea of a nice, quiet family dinner out. The restaurant location itself if quiet and inside is very quaint and homely. It's a nice getaway if you're used to hustle and bustle.

My fiancee and I are in there weekly for dinner or weekend brunch. They have great breakfast items and sandwiches. The full turkey dinner is a great comfort meal. The biscuits and gravy are okay - a little too crumbly for me. Yummy milkshakes! Several of the waitresses have been there for quite a while and are very friendly.

PROS: Good prices good food
CONS: A bit of a small menu

I've been here a few times. It's the kind of typical family restauraunt I miss from "back home".
The food is just good old regular diner type food. The Reuben sandwiches are pretty good - a thing that is hard to find out here on the west coast. The fries are good - actually I haven't had anything that wasn't good.

Another bonus is the family atmosphere. Very kid friendly. When I was there with my son, the waitress went out of her way to make him comfortable. They had some crayons available too, I believe.

With a fireplace and a neat "lodge-y" decor, it even has a nice atmosphere for a little family restauraunt. My son enjoyed the large painted murals on the wall of old country scenes - camping fishing and the like - recalling what Issaquah may have been like in "the good old days"

Overall, it's a perfect place to stop for a "regular" meal. Great food, friendly service, cheap - what more can you ask for.

Issaquah Cafe on Gilman Blvd. is the best breakfast I've ever had. I'm from the south and their biscuits are truly original! They make a huge meal for you at a price you can't beat. And the syrup they serve with your pancakes is real maple syrup. This is a local favorite spot that many people in the area frequent. If you're ever in the area you have to stop by Issaquah Cafe. They also serve lunch and dinner.
