They did a fine job on my wounded dog that's not my issue with them.. Its not what they did not do its what they did extra... Per my specific instruction I asked for the Paw to be stitched up and all things DIRECTLY pertaining to that and nothing more. Instead they clipped all her toe nails BUT the paw that was wounded.. I drove my leather seated car the next day with her in it and per her day before clipping sharpened claws sliced an poked numerous holes in my seats.. When I do clip my dogs nails I file them down after the initial clipping for just this reason.. Also probably because of the law they gave her a rabies shot and I was NOT told they would do this. Because they did all this with out my permission shows me arrogance and plain snooty-ness. The car is a 32 year old highly sought after car and I still have not found even a similar condition set of seats for the car.. Any anyone who knows cars a car is only original once. Estimated cost for new seats is 2 thousand dollars.
I didn't even bother telling them I am pretty sure they would go on the defensive immediately and think I was just a scamming sue happy person. I have had enough of incompetence and arrogance in this world if I sued every time things like this happened I would be in wasting a lot of my free time..

For those of you who are saying their prices are "reasonable" - are you sure you went to the same clinic???

We took our cat there, because it looked like she had a piece of tissue hanging off her backside. My husband and I are a young military couple- which I believe made it easier for them to charge us almost $300 (AFTER a $50 WAIF Crisis Care assist), for them to examine her for less than an hour, and send us home with "pain" medicine and antibiotics.

$300. Did I mention that was after we said to them we couldn't afford the almost $600 "surgery" to remove the tissue? Because of course, they had to send it to the "lab" to do this test, and that test. I asked them to give me a list of the entire procedure, and explain to me each thing. Of course, as most shady veterinary clinics do, there were many asinine "tests" that were unrelated to the problem.

Yes, they are very friendly and cheerful when you first walk into the door. They have to be- so they can rob you with a smile.

DO NOT go to this clinic. Unfortunately emergencies do happen- but please.... try to find ANYWHERE else to go.

Their "Latest and greatest" equipment is just to mask that they are a bunch of crooks.

I would NOT take my animals to this vet ever again. We took our cat in for a check-up thinking she had a UTI, our first visit to their practice (not having an assigned vet) we were delighted. It seemed like a wonderful association and we were pleased to find such a great practice. We had two follow-ups for our cat after that and the second time, everything was different. The staff wasn??t as pleasant, the Veterinarian, Dr. Anderson was extremely different. It seemed to me like there was such a fascade in the beginning to keep in new clients. The third time, he threw our cat across the room after he was done ??examining her?. He gave conflicting information each time after I inquired about my cat??s food being the cause of her UTI, one time he said it ??wasn??t going to hurt her? the next time he acted like it was the worst thing to give a cat. That was one of my first warning signs and him throwing her across the room, was the final straw. He also tried to assign my cat to a lifetime diet of a highly acidic food ?? after much research and talking to a highly respected veterinarian known globally, she said she would NEVER in a million years put a cat on a lifetime diet of that food. That cuts their lifetime and also will cause heart/kidney failure if given. After more research into the doctor, I also realized that he administered my cat with a vaccination that is known to be ??worrisome? and cats have died from it. I will say that Dr. Anderson is a horrible doctor who runs his mouth, gives out bad information, and definitely does not care about the care of his clients, animal or human. My husband and I had a hard time getting a word in edge wise and were cut off by his mindless muttering. NO questions were answered, and he didn??t seem to like being ??challenged? in what he made up his mind was the issue, no matter how little sense it made. Our dog had also brought in before for a check-up ?? during this check-up he crushed my dogs paw with his arm while she was sitting on the table leading her to yelp out in pain. This was just him ??sitting there talking?. Everything my husband and I said was dismissed, and every time we would ask a logical question, again.. he wouldn??t give a straight answer. If you love your pet, find a veterinarian that will listen, care about your animals like you do, and definitely won??t throw them and be more careful with your furry family member.

I would not recommend this practice. We had an urgent care need on a Saturday for our Black Lab, so went there because they were open. Although the staff had a caring demeanor and listened well, our dog was misdiagnosed which caused him unnecessary hours of excruciating suffering. We ended up with a large bill, and a dog that left with the same symptoms he went in with, but magnified. No check was done to see if he could take in food (which was one of the symptoms as to why he was there). Once we got him home his condition continued to worsen. Out of desperation we made a late night contact with a neighbor who is a vet, but not in practice. She diagnosed a different disease. ALL of our dog's symptoms pointed to MMM (not a retro-orbital abscess which is what he diagnosed). This disease, when chronic, rather than acute, often gets mis-diagnosed as an abscess, but it was in an acute phase. We took our dog to another emergency vet off island, who also recognized the disease.

When I contacted the vet at Best Friend's two days after all of this (hopefully to prevent another dog from being in the same situation) He stood by his diagnosis--the diagnosis, that made no difference in my dog's health, and only added more stress to his suffering.
In our conversation, he offered no explanation as to why our dog got worse after his procedures at Best Friend's
I know that we live in a litigious society, and it may be that he didn't want to admit making a mistake for that reason. But a simple apology and admittance would make me feel more trusting. No vet is infallible, but one that won't admit that to himself, or to others is not someone I will take another animal to. The best doctors, and the best vets are open to learn from mistakes, and not "stick to their story" even when there is very strong evidence to the contrary.
When I told this story to a friend, she shared she had a similar experience at Best Friend's 3 years ago with her older dog. An urgent care situation, a mis-diagnosis, and expensive-procedure, and no change in her dog's condition.
She said she felt preyed upon. She also will never take another animal there.

If you want the best for your pet, this is the place to go. I see in some of the reviews that people have complained about their prices. Yes, they are a bit high, but they have the best quality vets around. They also have the latest diagnostic equiptment, which costs money, so you should expect prices to be a bit higher when you are getting the latest and greatest care for your pet. I don't go anywhere else.

We took our Bulldog here, and our bill came out to over $200. It was an expensive visit. We used a different Vet and our bill was $75. They have great staff, and the location is ok, but the prices are not worth the visit.

The very best in treatment, the very highest in treatment. Prices so high that I will have to switch vets. For example - teeth cleaning with two tooth extractions - 500.00.

I really loved this vet. The were excellent with our cat. Our doctor listened to all of our concerns and gave us great information and care. I also liked that they only preformed what we wanted, gave us options for other things we might consider in the future, and didn't try to sell us 'special products' or unessacery procedures. The staff is very professional and courteous and made our pet comfortable in a scary situation. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I love Best Friends veterinary clinic. The staff there is super friendly and really will go above and beyond the call of duty to help a pet in need. They are the best and most reasonable place to go for your pet care needs.
