I actually haven't been to this clinic but Teri was our vet for several years and was wonderful with our very old sick labrador Coal. She & her staff were thoughtful & caring. She also took care of our 3 rescue scotties. We loved her completely & really missed her when she left. Luckily she left us with another Dr. that is also terrific.

I cannot score the Madison Park Vet Hospital low enough. Every experience we have had with this organization has been frustrating, painful, and dangerous to our dog. This vet hospital is disorganized, unresponsive, and ultimately negligent in their practices. ??I scheduled an interview to discuss separation anxiety medications for my dog. I was assured that at 3:30 on Thursday, I would have a conference with Dr. Byrd to discuss possible prescriptions. Thursday afternoon roles around and I find myself in an examination room. In walks a woman whom I had never met before. ??When asked, she indicated that Dr. Byrd had not even been scheduled to come in that day. She also indicated that she was not legally able to write prescriptions, as she was not a doctor. I was told what was available for the issue and what she WOULD prescribe if she COULD. So far, I'm irritated, but going with the flow. It was agreed that Dr. Byrd would call to further discuss my dog's prescription on the following day. Friday morning, I received a call from the front desk at Madison Park asking what pharmacy I would prefer. I made a selection and clarified that Dr. Byrd would in fact contact me that day to discuss the prescription. The receptionist confirmed that Dr. Byrd WOULD speak with me. ??Three hours later and no call yet from the doctor, I get a call from the pharmacy asking my dog's weight. I insist the pharmacist explain to me what they are prescribing because this is the first I hear about what specifically my dog will be taking. Now, I'm irritated as hell but just figure that at least the anxiety issue will be controlled. The two prescriptions were filled on Wednesday and I dosed my dog per Dr. Byrd's directions. In about ten minutes, she loses fine motor control and turns into a stumbling mess. She cannot walk up stairs or turn a corner without collapsing and seems to be in distress. I panic and immediately contact the vet seeking help, the receptionist informs me that Dr. Byrd is in a meeting, but would call me back in 15 minutes as that was the scheduled end of the meeting.?Frustrated, I call the Animal Critical Care and Emergency Service hospital on Lake City Way. The receptionist there was able to tell me that the prescription I was asking about was a massive overdose about twice the maximum dose. I planned to take up the issue with Dr. Byrd upon her scheduled call. There is no return call for nearly a week. Dr. Byrd left me a voicemail in the afternoon ON THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. She blamed her vet tech for not placing the written note in the right area on her desk, thus somehow preventing her from addressing the problem in a timely manner. This was not the first or last time Dr. Byrd would blame her inability to provide care based upon her own staff's shortcomings.?Concerned with the level of service we had received up to this point, I began researching online pet pharmacies that could fill my dog's other prescription, a prescription for a drug named Clomicalm. Believing I could no longer trust my own vets advice, I went to the manufacturer's website and I found out that her prescribed dosage from Madison Park Vet Hospital is twice the maximum for her weight. This is the last straw.??Over the course of the next week, my boyfriend and I called over and over to try and get Dr. Byrd's office to: 1) Sign and return the faxed request for prescription from our new online pet pharmacy and 2) Clarify the dosage for the prescription. This takes multiple phone calls and two weeks. The last phone call was the one that got their attention and I believe it was only due to extremely... DIRECT communication. During that ordeal, Dr. Byrd states that she did not specify incorrect dosage, but that the pharmacy providing the drugs (Kelley-Ross) had incorrectly marked the bottles with double the dosage she actually meant for us to give our pet. This would have been a great excuse, but we had previously requested a written prescription with the expectation to fax it ourselves to our online pharmacy. On it, Dr. Byrd prescribed a dosage double the manufacturer's recommended dosage. Hmmm...??Eventually, Dr. Byrd tells my boyfriend that we must have inaccurate information regarding our dog's dosage and wanted to know our source. He replies that he was operating with information taken from Novartis, the manufacturer of the drug in question. He asks Dr. Byrd for her sources and she says that she, quote, "'Researched' it in a dog anxiety treatment blog". ??We have since received our dog's medical records and are now shopping for a new primary care veterinarian. I can never recommend the Madison Park Veterinary Hospital, or any other animal care facility associated with Dr. Teri Byrd, to any pet owner.

We drive over an hour to bring our pets to Dr. Byrd. We tried other vets but none of them is as passionate as she is about helping animals. She has a fantastic modern facility and an increasingly competent staff. She is brilliant and caring and I could not imagine taking my pets to anyone else. I have been bringing my cats and dogs to Dr. Byrd for almost 7 years. She's always on the mark.

I had called around to different vet clinics in the seattle area to get pricing on a dental for my cat, and they had informed me that they offer non anesthesia dentals. I was very excited because my cat is 15 and I don't want to put her under anesthesia. The only down side to having the service done is they only do them once a month, but if it better for my cat Im going to do it.

I was down in the neighborhood and I stopped in. The staff was very nice and I even got to meet the doctor. She was very friendly and gave me a tour of the practice. Their prices aren't too bad. A little higher but you do get what you pay for and from what I was told about surgery and care you get a lot. I am seriously thinking about switching vets to come here.

Hi, my name is Heather and I work at Madison Park Veterinary Hospital and as a staff member I love it here! I have worked at some other vet clinics in the area and this is the best place to work. Dr. Byrd is a compassionate caring doctor who takes the time to talk to each client about their concerns and/or problems their pet may be having. She will go above and beyond the normal call of duty for her client and patients, whether its doing hours of research on VIN or calling a specialists for help, she will always make sure her clients/patients are well taken care of.

Madison Park does 1+ hour new client appointments to make sure we have covered all the questions that a new client may have. Some vet clinics (first hand knowledge) will get you in and out faster then you can say giardia, but not us! We love to talk and help our clients understand the importance of proper health care, vaccinations, deworming and many more. Dr. Byrd herself will go over training and even do a mini training session with our owners.

We have a brand new remodeled facility and all new equipment that I would use if I could on myself. My pets (4 dogs and 2 cats) get their vet care here and I feel totally comfortable in the hands of Dr. Byrd.

Another thing Dr. Byrd is amazing at is the passing on of loved pets. It??s never easy to say good-bye to a loved one. I have seen a lot of euthanasia's in my day, especially working at an emergency clinic and I have never seen a more caring, empathetic veterinarian then Dr. Teri Byrd. You should want someone to talk to your pet and make you comfortable as an owner when dealing with the passing of a loved pet and that doctor is Dr. Teri Byrd.

The clients of Madison Park and the neighborhoods are wonderful and we owe the positive warm welcome to them. I have never seen more loving pet owners in my life then I have seen down here. Thank you for making me enjoy my job even more then I already do!

We always welcome any comments or concerns anyone may have, so please feel free to contact us anytime!

We all take pride in what we do in life and if I did not stand behind Dr. Byrd 100% as person and as wonderful veterinarian I wouldn't be here. I love what I do and I do it will all my heart.

I have been a client at Madison Park Veterinary with Dr. Teri Byrd for years. She is by far the most knowledgeable and caring vet I have encountered in my many years of animal ownership. I run a local animal rescue and have thus had countless appointments with her, and I have never once had a bad experience. She has helped me save the lives of many, many animals. Dr. Byrd's passion for veterinary medicine and animals in general is evident in how she cares for her animal patients, and she is extremely hepful to her clients. Dr. Byrd is responsible for saving the lives of many of my rescue cats, and most importantly my beloved personal cat. Dr. Byrd helped my cat through a life threatening illness that not even an internal medicine specialist coudl solve. She took it upon herself to see my cat even when she did not have time in the schedule, to figure out what was wrong with her when no one else could, and to call and check on her after appointments. There are not many veterinarians that would personally call to check on their patients, and that would care so deeply for them. I too was worried about some of the reviews I saw on these sites before I took my pets to Dr. Byrd, but trust me, they are misleading and in my opinion completely erroneous. She is a wonderful vet, and has an equally great staff.

Our 13yr old Pug, who is a two time cancer survivor, and patient at this vet. Meaning we wrote our check to Madison Park Vet Clinic was denied antibiotics for a urinary infection by Dr. Byrd. She said she did not know the dog. Our phone call was returned at 330pm although the initial call was placed at 8Am. At 330pm we were told she could not help us. So we were left to go to after hours critical care, for a UTI because our vet clinic didn't have time to help our dog. Note the owner's comments in the reviews. They are all lies. I did communicate my disatifaction with Dr. Byrd, and never got a response. Dr. Byrd does not care about your pets. She apparently has a hard time keeping staff, see her craiglist ad. for Vet. Tech "She does not tolerate Gossip in the office" I'm sure that is because all the Gossip is about her many negative reviews. Stay away from Cruella De Madison Park.

Cons: The Owner is Awful

I went in to Madison Park to have my cat get its exam and the people were really nice but when I was in the waiting room a lady was yelling really loud in the back at the staff, and when she introduced herself, it was the Doctor! It was unprofessional and made me a little uncomfortable, but other than that I enjoyed my visit and my cat liked them too.

We've been very happy with the care our dog receives from Dr. Byrd at Madison Park. And her staff reflects the same level of compassion and expertise we've come to expect from Dr. Byrd. Dr. Byrd's demeanor is always professional and straight forward; traits I value in an individual who cares for animals or people. She makes good use of all the tools available to keep her skills and knowledge up-to-date.

Dr. Byrd is caring. Her staff is efficient and they appear to like the animals. They are also very helpful and responsive on the telephone, and with appointments. The office is clean and welcoming. My dog seems to be comfortable there. I have been please with the recommendations and I feel fortunate to have this facility so close to home. The fees are a bit high, but so is the rent and all the other expenses they have to pay. I would highly recommend Dr. Byrd and her staff.

Dr. Byrd is a very caring practitioner. She treated our two old dogs, even coming to our house for treatments. She has a rapport with her patients and their owners that isn't often seen with veterinarians. I highly recommend her. Don't your animal companions deserve the best?

Dr Byrd has been our vet for over 5 years. We have followed her to Seattle simply because our cats love her and we trust her. Last year our elder cat almost died. We attribute her persistence and thoughtful care to one of the reasons he is still with us. As long as we have pets, Dr B will continue to be a part of our health care team.

Hi, I am the new owner/veterinarian at Madison Park Veterinary Hospital. I am very excited to be included in this wonderful community and it is my biggest wish that everyone leaves our hospital knowing how hard we try to provide warm, friendly, state of the art medical care to our patients and clients. Our mission statement is: To use our hearts and skills to provide compassionate, competent care for your pet companion. I purchased the practice in December of 2007 and have essentially gutted and rebuilt it. I have purchased all new equipment including a digital dental x-ray machine, animal designed prophylaxis machine, 2 brand new anesthetic machines, all new surgical instruments, new monitors for blood pressure, fluids, EKG, breath alerts and an all new surgical suite and treatment room.I have 17 years experience as a veterinarian and previously owned a clinic for 7 years. My special interests are pain prevention and management, geriatric problems, dentistry, surgery and medicine and animal behavior. Our appointment are a minimum of 1/2 hour and usually longer and we love to take the extra time to meet new puppies and kittens and explain all of what they need in wellness care. I have hired a staff based on their level of compassion and love of animals, their experience and their willingness to work harmoniously in a team. We have had a few rough spots getting up and running and it was difficult to work while all of our construction was going on, but our clinic is finished and beautiful and eager to serve the people of Madison Park and surrounding communities. It is our biggest desire to make everyone happy and it is very difficult for us to read negative reviews about our hospital. We hope that if anyone if unhappy with any of our services that they would speak to us directly about it and let us attempt to fix any problems. We look forward to many happy years providing a one on one old fashioned relationship with one veterinarian. Please feel free to come by and check us out, tour our facilities and meet me and our staff. We will soon have our website up and running and a pharmacy where our clients can order discounted products. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Dr. Teri Byrd

The newly renovated veterinary hospital by looks is AMAZING! As far as health care goes it is top of the line; although the prices are high. Much higher than neighboring veterinary hospitals and I experienced no difference in customer care. I can tell the staff does care for the animals and that is the most important. The Doctor is definitely knowledgeable in Dentistry which she believes is very important. Aside from her frequent and unnecessary outburst, overall it is a nice place to take your pet. I would recommend to others. Continuing care such as diabetic animals should be taken to overnight or a vet hospital with late hours so when boarding they are able to get their insulin on time every time which is extremely important.LOVE POLLY!

I took my dog there and they were very nice. The old vet owned it for 40 years and i didn't trust him with my pet. I came and met the staff and took a tour before making an appt. The staff is friendly and always willing to take the time to help if needed. The assistants and tech's are knowledgable and good with the pets. Dr. Byrd is a nice alternative to your normal run-of-the-mill vet down the street. I got a half hour appt with the Dr. and she answered all my questions. It really seems like they care about the pets, i got my dog a dental and for every procedure they do pre-blood work to make sure the pet is healthy enough to have surgery. I like knowing that my dog is in good hands, they even offered to let me watch his dental if i wanted too. I will refer and take my dog back here.

I would not return here with my pet. The vet has an off-putting manner: She frequently laughs at inappropriate times. I assume this to be a nervous habit, but it is disturbing nevertheless, as I do not consider my pet's health to be a laughing matter. She also spent very little time examining my pet or listening to me. I chose to seek a second opinion. Additionally, the vet's tech is unprofessional: She became visibly angry at my pet for becoming fractious during a traumatic treatment. She would have physically "retaliated" if the vet hadn't stopped her.

I recently took my puppy into Mad Park vet and was not impressed with the service or care. I took my dog in 3 times and he still did not get better until I took him to another vet to get the right antibiotic. They are disorganized and expensive.

Hi - my cat had a UTI and they were able to get her in same day!
Great service, very nice folks.
Only complaint is that they didn't call me with labs.
Even so, I will continue with them for my cat's care.
