The Fairwood Library is home to some of the best librarians in the state. Always friendly, outstanding customer service and they know their stuff! Not once in the many years I've been going there have I had a problem with them. Other pluses are the online services the other users mentioned, such as catalogs and holds, as well as many wonderful story hours and special discussion groups and classes.
Their recent remodel is the only issue standing in the way of a World Class rating. I was extremely disappointed to find it necessary to transfer to another library within the system... their too bright, too busy patterns coupled with the new angle of the now-unnumbered shelves causing blockage of entire sections by study tables caused too much frustration and actual dizziness to continue it's use on a regular basis.
I was glad, however to see their hold shelves placed conveniently right at the entrance, so I can continue to have my titles sent their for convenience. I will also continue to enjoy classes and lectures

Almost every week we visit the library for story time for the toddlers or to pick up a book on hold. I love that I can search online and then place a book, movie, CD, etc on hold and then go pick it up within the next week. The staff here has always been helpful for me when I need it (which is rare because everything there is pretty self explanatory). They even have free wireless if you bring your laptop! I made great use of this when I was studying for my Masters degree.

We visit the Fairwood Library once a week. It's nto a huge library but I like that I don't get lost in there. My kids loves the children's area and they seem to have a good selection. It's always clean and the librarians are friendly and helpful. I like the new way they offer holds where you can get them yourself and I also like the self-checkouts. They do not have any mac computers, so that is frustrating when the kids use macs at school, but their computers are new and the kids are able to use them.
