I ordered a bowl of the veggie chile and it was really good. My husband is still raving about the pulled pork BBQ sandwich. It was pretty affordable too! Great mix of people, fun decor, and conveniently located.

Pros: tasty, affordable, convenient, vegan options

Honey Hole does not mess around. They do it and they do it well. Sandwiches! From the meatiest to the most vegan, you will keep coming back. (What do they really put in them?) The atmosphere is great. The dangling decor will leave you plenty to peruse. The music is usually a favorite on your iPod and the staff is no nonsense but always super nice. Check out the daily drink special that is clearly spelled out in neon on the board by the bar that features an awesome cocktail at a fantastic price. Get a craving during the day? Don't fret, my pet. They are open for lunch!

I ordered 2 sandwiches for pick-up last week and was told over the phone that it would take 20-25 minutes. We arrived to pick the sandwiches up approximately 15 minutes after the call was made. I waited in line to pay for my sandwiches and was told they would be done soon.

We then proceeded to wait an additional 45 minutes on top of the 20 minutes that we had already waited. Finally they gave us our order and did not even apologize for the extremely long wait.

When i went to email them to provide feedback, I could not find an email address so I am posting this review instead. I guess they don't care about customer service.

Pros: Delicious sandwiches

Cons: terrible service, long-wait time

The sandwich was kind of a downer. I expected better the place really smells great from the street. Lots of bread, not much stuff inside, small sandwices and a tad expensive. I was confused as to how a person orders and was seated, expecting to have some guidance when entering the palace. Don't like my food prepared by a "tatooed guy" with bare hands, coughing all the time.......The decore looks dumb and dirty.

Sorry guys for the bad review, as I live in the neighborhood

I can't believe people like the sandwiches here. My boyfriend and I ate here the other day while strolling through Capital Hill and while it had a cool atmosphere, the sanwiches sucked. The bread was so dry and so thick, you couldn't taste anything in between. I might stop by for a drink, but the sandwiches need some work.

Excellent sandwiches, very reasonable prices. I had the Wave rider... turkey, pesto, red peppers, mustard... yummy! It was really tasty. They toasted the bread really nice too. Some reviews slammed the service level which I think is unfair. This is a sandwich joint... you go to the counter, order your sandwich, sit at the table, they bring your sandwiches to you, you bus your table afterwards. There's not much service required so people shouldn't expect too much. Prices are very reasonable, under $7 for a sandwich that will last me more than 1 meal. Will definitely go back and try their other sandwiches! Come here for the sandwiches and you will not be disappointed.

This is a great anytime hangout. The sandwiches are quite tasty and the ambiance is relaxing. It was always my favorite lunch spot when having stressful days at the office when I worked near here.

Honey Hole is all I really want in a restaurant. Great food, decent service, good drink specials, good atmosphere, late hours. I've had the Texas Tease a few times and love it. I've enjoyed these great lemonade-vodka-cherry drinks and love those too. It's somewhat small, but not too small. High ceilings, very dark and red, quirky decor but not trying overly hard to be hip. The bar is tiny and kinda tiki. The bartenders and wait staff are good. Prices are appropriate - good food and a lot of it.

Pros: My fave place on Cap. Hill

Cons: can't think of any

I have been trying to vary what I order at places and get out of my rut. The waitress recommend the waverider to me, and it was REALLY good! Turkey, pesto, red peppers, & gouda. Can't beat a great sandwich that I never would have tried with out a little push. Thank Honey Hole.

First they lost my order while i waited for 20 minutes missing work. Once i told them of the mistake they offered no appology, no refund, no coupon for a future order. When they finally did get to my sandwhich i got back to my office to find it was burnt to a crisp.

I lost time i away from work, spent my hard earned money, and ended up with a sandwhich I couldnt eat.

Last time i will go there.

My wife and I had been to the Honeyhole for drinks a few times, but never made it for lunch. We finally visited for lunch last week, and couldn't believe we had been missing this seattle gem for so long! The sandwiches were AWESOME and were very reasonably priced. The sandwiches come in two sizes which is especially convenient too. I can't wait to go back! I recommend this place for anytime of day...great food and great atmosphere.

After living on Capitol Hill for two years I've found most of the restaurants up there to be unimpressive, with a few exceptions. Honeyhole is one exception. While their service has never been very good when I've gone in I really must say I don't care as much once the food arrives. The place is bustling and its kind of a nice place to people watch. The sandwiches are to die for and the french fries are among the top three ever. Go in expecting awesome food and mediocre service and this place will definitely not disappoint, especially not late at night when it is one of the few places open.

All in all, the whole package is great. Price, service, atmosphere, quality, etc. I suggest going for lunch or weekdays, as the weekend bartender is THE WORST! his attitude ranges from aloof to plain hostile, and the clearly overserved loudmouths at the bar will make you want to order that sandwich to go. The waitstaff is friendly and unpretentious, but their charm, and the music are not enough to drown out the drunken social outcasts at the bar. i suggest going duning the week, when the pleasant, attentive bartenders are there, or sitting far far away from the bar. good food though, and a great neaghborhood joint!

i have been going to the honeyhole for almost four years now and it is strange to read that some people find it gloomy:( the honeyhole is the most eccentric place in seattle. they play good music...the sandwiches, burgers, salads are of high quality and totally delicious!!! the service is unique....good service....the same people have worked there for years...shows me that it is a clean, nice environment for a job. if you take one minute to look around you will notice all of the small things that make the honeyhole the coolest place to be in seattle. besides all that there are always interesting , nice people to look at or chat with. i rate it a 10! i heart the honeyhole!!!!!

Service is friendly and fast. Parking may be difficult. I would definitely recommend this place for sandwich lovers.

I regret that I don't have enough money or a fast metabolism to eat out at the Honeyhole every night. Sweet Lord, they have the best sandwiches I've ever had the pleasure to consume in Seattle, and their salads are fresh and delicious. Their hot sandwiches are the best - my usual is the hot Chachi's Favorite, turkey, havarti, tomato and ranch dressing on a fresh french roll. Yum.

They have a weird decor inside; there are what I can describe only as dolls and strange things hanging from the ceiling and the walls. Moody lighting, comfy booths, tasty non-expensive beer, drink specials, and very friendly service make this one of my favorite dinner spots.

PROS: Excellent food, especially sandwiches, good drinks, very friendly service, decent prices.
CONS: Gets so busy, especially on weekends, sometimes have to hover around for a while to get a table.

We picked up sandwiches based on Honeyhole being rated a 10 for sandwiches on citysearch and were very disappointed in the sandwich quality. If you are looking for a traditional deli sandwich, you are better off going to a Safeway deli. The cookies were boring and dry. The clientele and staff are eccentric. The Honeyhole is a dark, gloomy place...not your traditional place to pick up sandwiches on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

Lunch spot by day and lounge by night. The Honeyhole has excellent selection of sandwiches to satisfy both canivores and vegetarians for a great price. Stop by after work for happy hour specials. If you stop by on the right night you might be able to order a 220z of PBR & saot of whiskey for $5. Check out the website: www.thehoneyhole.com.

I have been to honeyhole over 20 times...mostly because the food is amazing and others mostly agree. But every single time I have been in for dinner, it takes 10 minutes to get noticed, the server avoids eye contact, and on several occasions has been so rude that I refuse to leave a tip. (I am a BIG tipper.) If I can help it, I am never, ever going to go back there again.

Damn, that's a good sandwich! I like to spread my cash around to independent businesses, and this place is solid. Comfortable atmosphere, good for drinking, and an always interesting clientele. Really good music. Saddle up to the bar and get to know someone. Great sandwiches. I hit the 'Hole before and after shows. Thanks guys!

Started going here when they opened up the bar. It's convenient as I live close by. I had eyed their dinner menu a few times and was really interested in their smoked meat sandwiches. I finally tried their smoked pork sandwich which was supposed to be in a pineapple bbq sauce. Well the sandwich I got was just shredded meat on a buttered hoagie. The meat was smoked nicely, but it was dry and there was nothing else on it. I couldn't even taste the BBQ sauce. I was a little disappointed. I was anticipating a sandwich that sounded really good on the menu. For what I got, it was a little over-priced. I got some fries with the sandwich and they were REALLY good. I'll probably just stick to drinks here in the future.

The word "Honeyhole Run" sends my co-workers scrambling for their wallets. Huge ass sandwiches at a damn fine price. The fact that they now serve liquor has made my life complete. Service is friendly- they are cool about substitutions. Bartenders are laid back and offer generous pours. Often have $2.50 drink specials! Try the artichoke dip- so good I could eat it like soup! Plus they serve until 11pm every night...

When I saw that Honeyhole was an editorial nominee, I thought perhaps there were two restaurants with the same name. But unfortunately that is not the case.

Sandwiches are uninspired and prepared poorly. I look forward to finding more good sandwich places in Seattle (such as Three Sisters Bakery and Salumi), but this is not one of them

Not sure what all the rave is about... I've gotten sandwiches there and have left disappointed. Once I received a totally soggy ruben sandwich, the other time I ordered a meatball sandwich and the meatballs were overcooked and the bread on the burnt side. Maybe I just haven't ordered the best they have to offer. Service is fair, unenthusiastic and slow. I have heard during weekday lunch rush you can't get out of there under 25 min. A little on the expensive side. Decor is pretty good. You can find comparable elsewhere. They do play a good variety of music and have a bar. No hard liquor during the day though?? C+

This place has great sandwiches... Good variety and they seem to use top quality ingredients. Not like subway or large corporate sub shops. The decor is very interesting with lots of pictures, sculptures, etc. It has sort of a gothic bayou theme with a full bar that looks like a run down bayou shack of some sorts. The people that work there are friendly and seem to really like making good sandwiches. They play a variety of great music.. stuff you won't hear on the radio. The place is very comfortable. It gets very busy at lunchtime...
