My ring is special because you designed it. You were very helpful when I came in to select something , anything, but when I saw that ring, it was it. Your store is like eye candy. The strong sense of color, design and gems are amazing. You also repaired my 100 year old necklace when other jewelers said it could not be done without loosing the integrity of the cameo. I thank you for your patience with me in choosing ,finally ,the ring I wanted. You were kind and tactful in helping me choose. KK

J Chapa Hernandez Jewelers sold me an extraordinary ring with a stunning Ellensburg Blue in the middle. Chapa himself designed, created, and finished the piece. I found his personality and demeanor to be quite warm and patient as he helped me find the ring of my dreams. This was my first big purchase on my own (not a gift) and I got exactly what I wanted. I am now the proud owner of an exquisite piece hand crafted and of the highest quality which will no doubt be handed down to my daughter as a family heirloom. I've since sent 5 friends to Chapa, all of whom had similar experiences and left with gorgeous new jewelry! I will go back again and again!

After I proposed to my girlfriend (she said yes!) we found that the ring I got needed to be about 2 sizes smaller. She wanted to keep the ring I proposed with, so rather than send it back to the online jeweler I purchased it from, we came to J. Chapa Hernandez to get it resized. By the time we left, my fiance was close to tears.
J. Chapa Hernandez told us that resizing the ring could pose a risk to the ring's integrity. He could have stopped there, but when he learned that I had purchased the ring from an online jeweler he said this is what happens when you try to save money and buy something from the Internet. He then went on and on about how poor the quality of the ring was. It's remarkable that he didn't have a bad thing to say until he learned that I purchased the ring online.
We came to J. Chapa Hernandez to inquire about resizing a ring, and instead we were insulted and forced to listen to the ramblings of a snobby jeweler who's angry that we didn't purchase one of his over-priced rings. I did months of research before selecting the ring I gave to my fiance, and it wasn't cheap. It's bad enough that J. Chapa Hernandez had the gall to insult it in front of me, but he stepped WAY over the line by doing so in front of my fiance.
Every other jeweler we brought the ring to has complimented us on its beauty. It appraised for really good quality and high value, and (most importantly) my fiance loves it. Frankly, even if the ring WAS a cheap piece of garbage, it's the ring I proposed with and it means everything to us. For him to insult it so blatantly, and continue to do so even as he saw the effect of his words, is reprehensible. This man is incredibly rude and tactless.
Fortunately, our story has a happy ending. We found another local jeweler who resized the ring and tightened the sidestones while we waited, and he did a beautiful job.
J. Chapa Hernandez boasts of his 40+ years of experience. I wonder -- at what point did he stop treating customers like human beings?
