Marcella told me to "just take the dress and get the f**** out of my store. Shut the F**** up. dont ever call me or come to the store!" this was after I tried to listen to her for about 30 min over the phone trying to work out the problems I was having with the store staff not following up with their promises. so here I am less than a week a way from my wedding and dressless. this has been the most humiliating experience in my life. she kept telling me that I am trouble and "you don't know who you are messing with... " All I ever wanted was for them complete the alteration so that I could take my dress!.

Marcella's was wonderful. I had an amazing experience, with everyone there. They had great personal service and helped me find the dress of my dreams a gorgeous Vera Wang luxe! Being from out of state, they worked with my schedule and had my alterations done in ONE day. They were absolutely wonderful to me and my family. They have gorgeous designer gowns and wonderful people. I went to a couple other places, and their gowns and service did not even come close!! For those looking for a discount go some place else. Their gowns start at around $4,000, but what you pay for you get (amazing quality, and amazing service).

They were very snobby, and made me feel terrible they said i was to big to try on gowns. I'M A SIZE 10! Dont go there if you are a normal sized women.

As one of many bridesmaids in an upcoming wedding, I purchased a $400 dress at Marcella's Boutique. I gave my sizes, and then received a dress which was at least 3 sizes too big. I typically wear a size 4, yet received a size 12. This seemed to be the common theme throughout the entire bridal party.
The icing on the cake came, when after having a medical emergency this summer Dr.'s found a small hole in my heart prohibiting me from flying (risk of blood clots) until it was fixed. To make a long story short, it was not being fixed before the wedding, and I am no longer in the wedding. But here I am... with a $400 bridesmaid dress, in it's original packaging and condition, and Marcella will not let me return it. Not even for a penny. In fact her response to me was "Put it on Ebay. Good luck to you". Classy Marcella... here you are making thousands in the bridal industry, and kept $400 from a stay-at-home mom with a medical condition. I don't know about any of you, but I refuse to do business with people who have no respect for others.

Looking for a specific dress...

I originally went to Marcella's on a whim. I was looking for a specific Vera Wang from a past season and was looking for a bridal shop that carried Vera Wang bridesmaid dresses also. I happened upon Marcella's because of it's convenient downtown location. At first, I thought the saleswoman was great. She answered all my questions and didn't treat me as if I was poor, even though I was coming from Pullman (college town) and hadn't ordered a bridal dress yet (I had just ordered bridesmaids dresses). All was fine until I went to pick up the bridesmaids dresses and the saleswoman who took my order "was on vacation and not coming back" and two dresses were in the wrong size. Also, I had ordered 2 yards of fabric in the same dye lot to add a bow on the back of my dress (I ordered in the same dye lot so it was the same exact color as the bridemaids dresses) and it never arrived. In fact, it was never ordered.
For the money you are paying (my total was almost $7000 for my dress and the bridesmaids dresses) you are better off going somewhere else. For the most part, this bridal shop was nice and convenient - but not worth the headache I am dealing with now. It was very unsatisfactory and I definately would not reccommend this boutique to anyone UNLESS you were getting a designer dress on clearance OR you know the specific dress you cannot live without - because their customer service is horrific. With this boutique you are paying for *a product*; not great service or an experience - you're better off trying to find that dress online.

This is a wonderful store to find a dress in IF you are willing to spend the necessary money. I had a friend who bought a 4000.00 beautiful dress here. The dresses are very lovely. That said, if you don't have the budget, don't sulk, just go to Demetrio's, and you'll also find lovely dresses there for a fraction of the price. This store is for the girls looking for designer wedding gowns.
PROS: Designer, and lovely dresses.
CONS: Expensive, need I say more?

I purchased a brides maid dress here that was very well made and gorgeous. I felt like I was wearing a dress for the Oscars or something. They did a fabulous job with both of my friends wedding dresses. She got unexpectantly pregnant and popped before her wedding so that size 8 dress wasn't going to work anymore. She got another pretty dress from them to accomodate her belly. However, she did not get credit for her other dress. But that would happen at any bridal salon USA. They still made all of the dresses beautifully.

Marcella's was a welcome find for me in my search for the perfect wedding gown. I received amazing customer service throughout each of my interactions with this salon. I tried on many luxurious gowns and finally found "the one" and was able to order during a trunk show for 15% off of the original price. I was so impressed with the salon that I chose to order my veil and tiara through them as well. My fittings have gone fabulously and I recommend this salon to all future brides! The sales people there, particularly the owner Marcella, are so very knowledgeable and they know exactly which types and colors of gowns are most flattering for each individual that enters their salon!

Amazing Customer Service

The week i got engaged i made my first appointment at Marcellas. I knew that they had a great selction of bridal gowns and carried all the hottest designers. My best friend who got amrried a year ago, got her dress at Marcellas and loved working with the staff there. I cant believe these other reviews that im reading. My consultant was amaazing and helped me find the perfect dress. After placing my order the staff was helpful in helping schedule appointments for fittings, and accessories. They were AMAZING!!!!!! Im really glad i chose Marcellas over some of the other bridal boutiques in the area. They provided me with everything i was looking for in a dress shopping experience.

I went to Marcella's, ready to purchase a dress. The sales associates were down right rude. I was the only one in the boutique and they didn't ask me if I needed help and I had to flag one of them down to even try on a dress. After looking through their scant selection of dresses, I actually found a lovely dress among their sample dresses (beautiful vera wang). When I inquired about alterations on sample dresses, the girl who finally helped me get a dressing room informed me that they didn't alter sample dresses. Another sales girl saw I was trying on a sample dress and informed me that alterations on sample dresses started at $500. After contending with snooty girls at this supposed upscale and elegant boutique I left without the dress. I'm sure I can purchase it elsewhere. And if I can't I'll find a different dress. Marcella's is not getting any of my money or any more of my time.

Great Service, before your purchase...

I purchased my beautiful Jenny Lee dress last June. It just arrived last week. I was working with the most wonderful sales associate, Chelsey, she gave me awesome personalized service. When I called to check the shipping date of my dress toward the end of January I was told Chelsey was no longer with the company and that they had no idea when my dress would come in. This was unacceptable, considering I spent ample cash there. Several calls after that ended in the same manner. Then, one month after the expected delivery date I get a call saying my dress is in. Yay!!! So I try to make an appointment to verify it is the correct dress and pay the balance and they don't want me to because they are having a trunk show, but I have to pay by Monday. The sales girl told me "just pay over the phone". First off that is rude, second we spend over $6k there and it would be nice if i was still treated like a valued customer. and for that kind of money I would like to mak esure my dress is in good shape, and the right one!
Pros: Great Dresses for a big budget, great sales service

Brides Beware! Go elsewhere!

I was really disappointed with the salesperson I had to deal with at Marcella's. At first, she was very friendly, but as our correspondences progressed she became very moody and sent me strong email messages that really upset me and I ended up reporting her. Brides - if you're gonna spend that kind of money wouldn't you want the customary service to match?! I'm just saying. I ended up going elsewhere. It's too bad, because they do carry high end designer dresses that are harder to find in the Seattle area. I ended up traveling outside the Seattle area to try on dresses.

Hated my experience

If I could give negative stars, I would. I hated the treatment from the sales staff. The salon carries high end dresses but they have the rudest, most inexperienced sales staff. Bridal shops are mistaken if they think of their customers as one time purchasers. They have lost all future referrals from me but have earned my disgust and now, this review.

She was patient, creative and flexible with my budget, and a pure pleasure to work with. I would recommend her to anyone, with her talent and saavy, plus she made the whole process fun!

I purchased my gorgeous Jenny Lee wedding dress, (see JennyLeeBridal) from Marcella's La Boutique this past January and I am so glad that I did. Their dress selection is fantastic and I was treated so well each and every time that I made my 3 1/2 hour drive from Portland to Marcella's. I have to say that it was an extreme pleasure to see them and I looked forward to each and every trip. Needless to say, I would like to THANK Marcella's entire staff for making my dream wedding come true! they are definately a 10!

Please READ this, Marcella's is by far the best bridal shop in Seattle! I have gone to all the shops literally here and in Portland too. They have by far the best designer gown collection and sales staff that I have met anywhere. I even went to New York, they were so rude. They don't try to pressure you like other stores in Seattle and they really try to make sure your experience is excellent. If you want name brand designer dresses that you have heard of, lol, Vera Wang, Monique Lhuiller, Reem Acra, than please go to Marella's. I just love them, you absolutely won't be sorry!

I'm not sure the ladies that were dissappointed went to the same Marcella's La Boutique that I went to this afternoon. I visited two shops that were referred to me. Marcella's was, by far, more accomodating, had a larger selection, and the staff spent alot of time with me trying and retrying on a zillion dresses. Marcella remembered my friend by sight from 3 yrs prior, and I got a hug out of Kitty, one of the associates. You can't expect a place like that to be on time all of the time. You sign a document that says 'No returns or exchanges' so you can't be mad about that. If you don't want to spend more than 2000$ on your dress then don't go there, it's not for you. But if you do, hurry hurry and ask for Kitty.

I'm not sure why there are so many terrible reviews on Citysearch about Marcella's. I had an amazing experience! Marcella's was the first and only place I went to try on wedding dresses and my wedding dress ended up being the 3rd one I tried on! My sales person was extremely helpful and honest and Marcella was always there when I was in for fittings and trying on my dress and she was fantastic! She made me feel like a princess and I adore her! I was impressed from the start to finish with the service at Marcella's!

Having done our research, we knew that Marcellas would have the type of designer gowns we were looking for. When we called ahead to make appointments, we mentioned that we were a lesbian couple, and they were very welcoming. We spent about four hours trying on bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses with one of our bridesmaids and had a great time! Marcella herself was present at every one of the subsequent fittings and showed a genuine personal interest in us, our plans and our satisfaction. The staff was always courteous and helpful, and the seamstress did an amazing job. Yes, this is an upscale salon, you need to make an appointment to see the gowns, but its so worth it. Marcella is a true professional and the boutique provides the ultimate in bridal pampering you definitely get what you pay for.
