I needed a grass seed that was water tolerant, as I live in White Salmon WA which has very severe water restrictions during the summer. Gordon suggested "Water Warden" from Bailey seed Co. in Salem. My research on the web found everything that Gordon said about this seed was correct. Gordon also had an over seeder that allows you to plant over an existing lawn so you don't need a rototiller. Gordon warned me that the over seeder would really work me over if my existing lawn was rough. Again he was correct, but my seed has just started to germinate and it sure looks good. I definitely will be recommending LJC to my neighbors. I found the entire staff knowledgeable and not afraid to ask others if they needed assistance. Dave P

I happen to think the owners are very friendly and helpful. I have had nothing but good luck finding a friendly face there. Gordon actually let me borrow a saddle to take home and try on my horse! That's trust, and a great way to keep customers...

I will NEVER be going back to LJC...make sure you buy the right product, because if you don't you will get a butt chewing by Gordon (owner) and he will tell you it's your problem not his....UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I don't know why, but the last two times I've been in the store I was charged over my actual order by a significant amount. Yesterday it was almost $30 over.
Since I had a new pup in my truck and I was in a hurry to get home, I didn't even notice it until I got home and started double checking the receipt. This is pretty weak, IMO. I was charged $7.99 x 5 for an item I bought one of, and $1.10 once for an item I bought 5 of.
quite a difference. Anyone can make a mistake but this is twice in my last two visits! I must be jinxed.

I got great service and answers to all my questions both in person and over the phone from the people at LJC. Great local place to get all my lawn and garden needs!

This place is ridiculous. If you dont know exactly what you want when you get to the register, forget it, you will get nothing but attitude. Oh and forget calling and finding out the price of a product, you will get hung up on. Horrible horrible place. I will never ever shop here again!!

a shop between the pages of time, you will find evereything from feed and seed to clothing and garden items. They also offer pet medications to save you on vet bills! Wood chips and seasonal items as well as novelties.Lots of open parking. Located just off Hwy 14 on "E" street.

PROS: Farm Fresh,seasonal treats, local products
CONS: help is usually preoccupied

This is a great place to go if you are looking for Garden stuff, pet supplies or wild bird food. The employees are very friendly and great about giving advice if you ask.

It's so refreshing to shop at a farm store run and owned by farmers!
They have everything you need and then some. They give great 4H discounts also. If they don't have the answer they will find someone that does.
They really go out of their way to help you.
