I don't know if it was the multiple changes in ownership, but this place has been failing and flailing over the last few years. The food is so bad my friend and I will no longer go here to meet up with friends.

Odd atmosphere, and there are better choices.

Aweful. Just terrible. Don't bother. You're much better off eating at Dick's Drive In. If there's a hotdog stand nearby, eat there instead - better value, or even get one of those stale sandwiches at Starbucks. Management is rude and completely clueless.

I really want to like the Magnolia Village Pub. It is close to my house and could be a great place to meet friends and watch a game. Unfortunately, the food is BAD. The first time I tried a salad and the pineapple was rotten. They did not charge me for the salad, but DID charge me for the grilled cheese I ordered afterwards. I waited a year and recently returned, hoping the kinks had been worked out. This time I got the 'soup and sandwich lunch deal'. The soup tasted like chemical cleanser and the sandwich was smaller than the palm of my hand. When I took a bite, the bread was so dry it crumbled away, leaving a fatty piece of turkey and one third of a piece of bacon. I basically had 3 bites for $6.00. Be forewarned: it looks like a great place but don't go. You will be disappointed...

Pros: Convenient location, free wi-fi, several TVs for sports,

Cons: Bad food, slow service, relatively expensive

First of all, I think Paul and Jake may be thinking of a different place...I have never seen what they listed as "not straight" crowd (and who would care anyway) and I've been there a number of times. Judging from the crowds and the the large amount of repeat customers I see there, it is pretty obvious these two boys are in the minority. The place is fun for families as well as major sports entusiast. My only complaint there is that they don not have the EPL games on or any soccer channel for that matter, other then that, I would go there for all of the other entertainment reasons.

Pros: Great service-good eats-good price-variety of entertainment

Cons: Needs the Soccer Channel to be perfect!

Alright, I have to think that t0adman is a plant himself - perhaps from a local bar / competition. There's no way that MVP deserves that kind of dig.

The new management, Kevin and his wife, Su-Jin (sp?) are rock stars. They are committed to making MVP the best place to be for UFC fights, my personal favorite sporting event. The crowd, the management, the food, the tv's, the atmosphere; all are above-par for a sports bar in my opinion - and I've been to many in my life.

For starters, the waitresses are always friendly, always smiling, and have to contend with standing-room only crowds on UFC night; give them a break!

The food is great, they have a Kobe burger that is fantastic. The nachos are also great; stacked high with chicken if you want it. Generous cheese and guacamole. And the price on pints is fair.

I like the billiard area they have set up, with bar stools and bar-top tables that make for a good mix of standing and seating options, so if you have a big crowd you can kind of forge your own niche during a show. Sometimes we have 10-15 people and make a mix of bar stools / standing / table areas; they are very accommodating about this!

As for management - they are always around, keeping an eye on the hosting, food orders; the owner, Kevin, also helps prep food in the back when it gets busy; they are completely hands-on and extremely polite: I would challenge anyone to find a more involved ownership in Magnolia / Queen Anne / even Capitol Hill. They always have smiles on their faces and are always welcoming.

I give MVP 5 big, honest stars; and I'm a regular to FOX Sports Bar, Kells, and others. I love the tight-knit atmosphere, the great ownership, and the comraderie of the locals from Magnolia who make this place above--par. I suggest logging off, taking these reviews (hell, including mine) for a grain of salt, and going to MVP to see for yourself what it's all about. I like to see bars where the management cares, succeed.

This is one of those.

Pros: 30+ HD TV's, Great Bar, Rock Star Management

Cons: Sometimes Too Busy for One or Two Waitresses

.

You're a dollar sign, that's it. Examine you're tab closely before paying, trust me, and everybody else on this post. Anybody who gives this place 4 or 5 stars is full of it, they're either management, management's friends or are delusional. The management is terrible, the WORST service ever! It's really, really, slow, and what's worse, it's really expensive. I could have gone to a high end bar for the price of this place. Also, it's really annoying how they pretend to care, then totally screw their customer. HD games?? Also, the customers are -- well, it's not what you want in a sports pub... Read Toadman's review that guy hit the nail on the head. I gave it a 1 only because 0 isn't possible.

Pros: tv's, okay food

Cons: REALLY EXPENSIVE, TERRIBLE SERVICE

.

First I agree with everything that TOADMAN said. Second the pros, it has lots of decent TV"s, not bad atmosphere, and I didn't think it was that dirty. During the day, you may find children running around, which is a little bizarre. Also, the alcohol is really expensive and the food is only okay. Everytime I went with a group of 4, the bill was over $200. Lastly, I'm not sure if this is the hangout for the "not straight" community in Magnolia, but I went here for several months and it seemed that was the case. It's just not the type of crowd I want for a sports bar, not that I have anything against that community, we just watch sports for different reasons. Like I said, I went here for several months, I just found the fellow patrons sexually explicit commentary during UFC fights really unsettling.

Your typical village sports bar. They have a ton of tvs so you can watch any game your heart desires for. I like the hummus plate a lot here and they have good beer specials.

The Magnolia Pub has changed a lot from the old days, when it was located
across the street, but it is still a great place to hang out.
Nice and mellow vibe, no pretense, and good food and beer.

i've been going tp the village pub since i've moved here a couple years ago. it has vastly improved since kevin and su-jin have taken over in may, and they are very accomodating to their customers. they have just put out an amazing new menu with a wide range of items that will fill any appetite. its the only sports bar i know of where you can order dumplings and thai flavored prawns with still maintaining that neighborhood feel. new booths, tables and chairs have been added giving the place a clean stylish atmosphere that most sports bars don't have. they have 35 cent wings on monday nights to go along with a great beer selection of 16 on tap, and their happy hour menu is equally as delectable. i had the caribean-jerk berger, and it was amazing, and their onion rings are highly recommended. there is also a tasty breakfast menu that is available on the weekend before your game kicks off. i am a huge football fan and am there every sunday, and they accommodate any game any of their customers want to see on one of their 28 tvs. which makes it easy to follow your team along with any others, for you fantasy footballers out there. there is also free wi-fi availble. the service is amazing, being very prompt and friendly. they remember your name and treat you well. the pub has also just added a new pool table with new sticks as well. and its nice that it is only 50 cents a game. this place has a great atmosphere on gameday, and the great staff only enhances the experience.

Read through the reviews on this first page. Check out the ones that are five star ratings and rave about how it's just the best place and the new ownership and management is just incredible. Click on the reviewer's username and see how many reviews they've written. Yep, that's right. One. Know what that means? It's a plant. Friends of ownership ask others (or just create more than one account) to go post five star ratings to falsely pump up their score. What a farce!

It's bad enough this place stinks without them trying to fool you into thinking it's decent. The food is marginal but not bad for a sports bar. They pretend to care about having all the games on in HD. They clearly have no idea how to plan for a crowd (running out of certain famous menu items multiple days in a row, running out of Miller Lite, etc). They also nickel and dime customers to death. Things are expensive to begin with and now they charge extra for everything. I've tried Magnolia Pub several times since the new management/ownership and I'm done. I've even taken in groups of 15 or more to drink and eat for hours and still don't get a single shred of appreciation from the management. The staff is friendly but they're just trying to make tips. The management simply wants your money. You are an annoying obstacle to them getting your money. Suffice to say I'm done with VP. I'll congregate my group of friends at a place that cares about its customers.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. IT HAS TV'S AT EVERY TABLE AND 18 42" TV'S ALL AROUND. YOU CAN SEE THE GAMES FROM ANYWHERE YOU SIT. THE SERVICE IS GREAT AND THE FOOD IS FANTASTIC. THEY HAVE A TON OF BEER HANDLES AND YOU CAN ORDER IT IN A BIG "BEER-TENDER" FOR LARGE GROUPS. THE HAPPY HOUR SOUNDS GREAT TOO.

I UNDERSTAND THAT IT USED TO BE A BIG COUGS BAR BUT THE NEW OWNER SAYS HE WILL BE CATERING TO ALL FANS. MY FRIENDS AND I ARE HUSKIES AND FELT VERY WELCOME. HE ALSO SAID THEY WILL BE SHOWING ALL THE UFC FIGHTS WITH NO COVER CHARGE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ALL SPORTS NEEDS

With so few places in Magnolia to go for food and drinks I've been into the pub a few times and it seems the food and service gets worse each time. You can go down the street and get better service and food. The food is average at best and the prices are definitely not justified. Do yourselves a favor and skip the pub.

I have gone to the Magnolia Pub 3 different times to make sure I just didn't show up up during a bad time. Each time was the same. The wait staff is slow. They are unenthusiastic about thier jobs. They always seem to be busy with something else other than providing good wait service. There are a lot of TVs but good luck getting anybody to change the channel on a TV no one is watching to a game you and your friends want to watch. Plus I thought this was a sports bar, why in the world are there cartoons on the TV on Saturday afternoon? That's when all the good college games are on. I don't care if kids are in the "Pub". Take the crumb snatchers to Chuckie Cheese! This pub is off the beaten track, there is nothing to do in the immeadate area after you get tired of the place. Cabs show up about 25 to 30 minutes after you call them. Cause Magnolia isn't exactly a high traffic area for cabs. There is absolutely no parking around the pub. All the locals from Mag Town hang out there. So if your looking to pick up a MILF then maybe this is your scene. The only GOOD thing about this "Pub", is the food. The cooks are on it! Ofcourse this is Magnolia so everything is over prced. Your better off going downtown or to Ballard.

Good food and lots of tv's! The service was horrible. Waitress wasn't friendly at all and we felt totally put out to ask her for anything. Fix the service problem and it could be a way better place. I will give it another chance in the future for hope of better service!

The Village Pub is great for watching sports games- they have a ton of tv's! The food is good- a little over-priced, but the salads there are really good! But whenever you go there- be prepared to be there at least an hour, no matter what time it is. If you're not in a hurry- then this restaurant is for you.

Great wings, lots of TV's (not hi-def though), decent beer selection - the blenders are quite cool but its all ruined by bad customer service. I have given this place multiple opportunities to redeem themselves. They are understaffed, the staff does not appear happy, all I want is decent service with a smile, but overall just my beer & food in a somewhat timely manner. Last time we closed a tab with a horrible waitress, and sat there another hour without another waitress asking us if we might want something else. They also need to increase staffing for events like umm Seahawks games? College games, etc....This bar is on my do not visit list now.

We frequent the pub for lunch or dinner as our family lives near by, but the service is extremely slow and the food is overpriced for what you get. The atmosphere is great with flat screen TV's at almost every table (though there is no way to change the channel without asking one of the overly busy waitresses). The food is okay but pricey and the wait to get a drink order in let alone dinner is long enough to have made us walk out a few times.

The village pub has most of what you want from a great sports bar. Awesome TV's, attractive hard working waitresses, a variety of cold beer. What it doesn't have is enough room. If your not there early you will most likely spend time at the bar or in the corner. There are TV's at each table and the entire bar is surrounded by large plasma TV's. Their hot wings are hot and there is plenty of meat on the bone (picture Foghorn Leghorn).
There are only a few negatives. Drunken sports fans never know that they are NOT in a bar. If you bring the kids bring the ear muffs as well. If your there to watch any team besides the the WSU Cougars or Seahawks you may be dissapointed.
Get there at least an hour (if possible) before your game starts.

Pros: Good Service, Best TV's around

Cons: Crowded

.

This place was way too smoky. We couldn't stay there because of all the smoke.

This place is great! We took our whole family here for lunch and had the best time. My husband and I loved watching the games and enjoying a beer while our kids were welcomed with open arms. We are now planning on having our company's Christmas party at the Pub since the food is great and the atmosphere so warm.

Once again this is the best sports bar hands down in Seattle! I had to respond regarding the service sometimes it takes a while when it's busy but if the place is crowded and your server is kinda slow GO TO THE BAR! IT'S BUSY! Any ways come check this place out you won't be disappointed!!!

If you are a sports fan, this bar is the best I've seen. They have about 10 huge flat screen TV near the ceiling and every table around the walls has THEIR OWN TV at the table! The food was good - standard bar food. Good beer selection. Not too smokey. Nice people hanging out there.

Who knew that Magnolia would have a fun, happening place to go with live music, good food and flat screens with almost every game on! We went there to celebrate St Patrick's Day and they had a great band. We found out they had the all you can eat Crab on Wed nights so we headed over last week and it was amazing!

I really like this place - the food is great, the atmosphere is chill and the prices are right. Not to mention, you can park without having to pay for it or worrying about your car's safety like you do when you go downtown to other sports bars. The wings are great, the drinks are generous and there are a lot of flat screen tvs. I have gone there to watch Seahawk games and their breakfast is really good as well.

I love this place! The food is great, the people are friendly, they have live bands on Saturday nights and they have so many flat screen tvs you can watch multiple games at one time. They also have the best wings, in my opinion, in the city. They do buckets of wings and the portions are generous for a great value - goodbye wingdome. I am so glad there is a place in the city where you can go to watch sports and not have to pay for parking. This bar is the going to get bigger and better every year.

This bar is a great Cougar hangout for all - the drinks are strong, the staff friendly, the food is great and they even have a Mug Club for the patrons with cheap drink specials during games and certain nights of the week. They have added about 20 new flat screen TVs. If you can't make it to Pullman for the games the Village Pub is the place to watch the Cougs. Parking is free as well!

It's taken nearly a year and a half but the transition from a "British Pub" to a WSU oriented sports bar has nearly been completed by owner Matt Baker. The menu update finally rolled out in June keeping many of the old Village Pub favorites as well as bringing in much needed updates. Wings are available by the bucket to enjoy while watching a game or try the potstickers if you want something more exotic, though I'd recommend avoiding the hummus plate. Burgers, salads, soups, and sandwiches round out a strong menu. Drinks are good, though they may take a few minutes during peak times.

The Village Pub is a friendly reataurant and features exceptional food and specials. The servers are well trained and friendly and the owner is a top personalty in his area. The restaurant is clean and no cigars or pipes permitted.
