Excellent venue for meeting up for drinks prior to going out on the town. The cozy intimate ambiance of the downstairs with lush pillowed booths makes a great place to take a date and much better for having a conversation than the upstairs scene. The club atmosphere of the upper level is great for large groups, with a DJ spinning tunes, and a large open area for dancing walled with pillowy seating. On a warm summer night, the sparkly lighted outdoor terrace is the perfect place for sipping that yummy Chocolate Bacon Martini, a house specialty.

my friends were walking past this bar last night when a few of the patrons standing on the sidewalk decided they ran into them. They attacked my friends and beat them very badly while the door guy claimed he didn't see anything and locked them out. no one at the club would be a witness for the police. Businesses like this should be run out of the neighborhood.

I've been to this bar several times last year, and I kind of liked the atmosphere, food, drinks and the music. This time, I went to celebrate my friend's b-day, and we had really bad experience (It was actually surprising, it seems something (owner?) changed?). First of all, the bartender guy was terribly unfriendly, and since the music was so loud, he didn't hear the right drink orders and made wrong drinks. When we corrected him (after he made), he got upset and yelled at us (couldn't believe it!). After all he made the right ones but charged us so much more. We thought food quality got worse, too. The music was ok still, but there were too many homosexuals dancing... and kept bumping against us. I don't think we'll ever go this place again.

After searching for a place to host my saturday nite birthday party we settled on the Capitol Club because of a delicious sounding menu, nice looking location and very reasonable event prices. We had one whole room of their dinning room for a very modest food & drink minimum and no room rental fee! Our server was very friendly and handled our large party with grace. The food was delicious though the portions are small because it's tapas. The music was great and, though we could hear the bar noise upstairs, it was not at all bothersome to our event. I had a great party here and highly recommend the Capitol Club!

Went to Capitol Club the last time my buddy from San Diego was in town. I was extremely apprehensive, as I had heard some not-so-stellar things about it third-hand from someone else (obviously from my rating, a stale review), but thought what the hell since I had passed by it the week before and it appeared to be full of some damn happy looking folks. For good reason, it seems. We only went for happy (2) hours, but the food was really fantastic (and very reasonably--happy hour at least--priced). Specifically, if you like calimari, they serve the fattest, lightly breaded (i hate when it's overwhelmed by breading and grease) fried calimari that really let the natural taste come out.
The other food that I nibbled on tasted great even though it was a bit unfamiliar (which was actually fun to try new stuff) and the beers / booze pretty damn cheap, especially considering the fact that the service was probably some of the best I've had. The guy waiting on us was really friendly from the outset, but somehow we discovered he was co-owner, and he told us all about their various specials. Apparently there are live music and performances too. The only negative thing I would have to report is that this joint is that I suspect it is about to get very popular in a hurry, since people tend to find out about such a great score pretty fast. This is probably one of those types of joints that's too good to last, but hopefully they'll be rewarded for doing it right.

Its been a while since I had been to the Capitol Club and I was not expecting much to tell the truth. Last time I went there (6 months ago) the food was awful and the service was below average. But now I have to say Im glad my friend talked me into going there. They have a new menu and its SO YUMMY!! Its all Spanish food which I wasnt very familiar with but it was fantastic!! Also they have these new yummy drinks...I had a few with Tequila and Guava juice. Mmmm! Not to mention the cute waitress that waited on us was the sweetest thing ever! She even bought my friend dessert for her birthday! To sum it up if you havent been here in a while you are missing out! Definitely has changed for the better!

On the 3rd Tuesday of every month, we gather at The Capitol Club for a conversation about sexuality. The service is always excellent. Our group can be challenging, as we never know how many will show up and when. The food is consistently tantilizing. Their wagyu beef burger is premium and a favorite of many of our group. If you are looking for a casual meeting place for your group, with very reasonable food prices and excellent staff, this is the place!

Great ambiance- the Moroccan flair is right up my alley. But the decor did not make up for the rest of the place. The food was bad and the place was freezing cold- ever thought to turn on a heater in January? And the Capitol Club is under new ownership or so and didn't have a liquor license- so, no drinks. We left after our less than appetizing dinner to head down the street to the Chapel to quench our thirst. It really is too bad as the place is so cute.

For some reason I always forget about The Capitol Club until I get invited to a birthday or special event here. The food, drink, and entertainment are superb. The food especially, it's really quite amazing for such moderately priced dishes. I always leave thinking "why don't I come here more often?" and for some reason I still can't figure out what it is about this place that makes me for get it so easily, when really it's a great spot. hmmm...

If you haven't been since they hired a new chef, or have never been, GO NOW! The food is fantastic, the waitstaff is friendly and I was told that weekends are slower than midweek. I went three weeks ago to try out the new menu and I've been thinking about it since. I'm going back tonight. The main dining room does have an echo, large groups can drown out your own table conversation, but I was busy eating so I didn't mind!

I hosted a surprise birthday party in the blue room there. The space itself was comfortable with benches along the walls with small coffee style tables. The server was attentive and brought the cake out with lit candles right on cue. The food was above average and included a variety of tasty treats from italian to indian. The kitchen did seem a little slow at preparing the food, but it was worth the wait. We brought our own decorations and the staff handled taking it all down at the end. I would definately recommed this.

Came in from Canada on a sundan night to try out this place after reading great reviews on cityseach. While the food and ambiance were spot on. There was no one here! We were almost the only ones in the restaurant...

Also, on their website that on sundays they had cheap Hoegaardens, but they had none on tap..

This quaint little place allows you to feel like you are not in the middle of a big city. The food was above and beyond my expectations! The seasonal menu was moderately priced (I would have paid more) and they had an extensive wine menu. I highly recommend getting a couple of courses and spending some time relaxing and and a great conversation. I felt our waitress was very attentive and gave great suggestions! The only thing I would change would be the acoustics... there was a party of about 8 women at the end of the room who had little consideration for the volume the rest of us had to endure. Other than that this is a place I would highly highly recommend for a wonderful escape with an exotic seasonal dinner.

Also, the price was right. I'll definitely be back.

While visiting from LA, I decided to check out this place and I have to say, I was PLEASED. Some of the best service I have ever had, great drinks, wonderful ambiance-- it was the total package. Great prices and an ideal location were icing on the cake. I never felt like I needed anything, but the waiter was totally non invasive-- I felt like I was having a romantic dinner in an isolated place, even though it was packed inside. I will definitely tell friends to check this place out when they are in town and hope to eat here again soon!

I went to the Capitol Club for drinks with a friend on Tuesday evening, and was thrilled to find that a free flamenco performance was included. The flamenco duo sang and danced beautifully, while we enjoyed delicious cocktails. We were not planning on ordering dinner, but couldn't resist the wonderful smell coming from the table adjacent to ours. The duck breast with honey almond sauce is delicious. We will definitely be back soon.

I am having difficulty writing a review, because there was nothing spectacular or disappointing about my experience at the Capitol Club. We sat downstairs for dinner, and a menu that attempted to be unique and/or experimental, turned out to be very ordinary. Our server was far from rude, but seemed disinterested and was far from helpful. The highlight was the wine, which was excellent. The two large parties (both 8+ people) turned what could have been an excellent date night spot into an experience where we were not dis-satisfied, but at the same time ready to go home before the conclusion of the meal.

On a recommendation from the waiter my first tima at Capitol Club, I ordered the pork chop. It was amazing. Tender, juicy, flavorful, and quite a large portion. So this place is great for food (I have actually had some other dishes) and also has great martinis. If you can score a spot on the deck upstairs for drinks when the weather is nice, you're lucky.

5 of my gal pals and I had an outrageous dining experience at the Capitol Club. I've been wanting my 5th Avenue play group to go there before, but you have to take a taxi so it's a slight hassle..........but so worth it!! Our drinks were tasty.... our appetizers wonderful, especially the medajool dates. We ordered duck, halibut, and the burger.........all to die for. Date cake for desert is a MUST! Our waiter was attentive and fun!! I'm coming back with my husband and my kids ages 9 and 13!!!

I recently went to a party held in the blue room at the Capital Club and was not impressed. Our server was not interested in taking drink orders, guests had to either wait 45min for her to address them or go upstairs and get it from the bartender. I was considering ordering food, however the server was not interested in selling any. Needless to say a few of us had to leave the party and go down the street to get food elsewhere. I will not be returning to the Capital Club for the horrible service.

On Seattle's Capitol Hill it can be difficult to choose where to go for a nice drink or a bite to eat. The Capitol Club should always be at the top of your list! Offering a elegant and mellow atmosphere, this is a perfect place to go on a date or with a friend to relax after a day at work.

I really like the Capitol Club. There aren't too many nice restaurants to eat at on Capitol Hill, but this place has pretty good food and a nice bar upstairs. It's one of the nicest places to eat on the hill, that's for sure. They serve food till pretty late, too, so if you are up for catching a late bit before you head out for the night, try the Capitol Club.

I love this place. Never eaten dinner here, but they do have a menu with mediterranean/moroccan food. Have hung out upstairs in the bar area and sampled appetizers and drinks. Always good, drinks are well-mixed, food is flavorful. Great space too, benches with pillows, gauzy curtains, candles. What's not to like? If you want to go somewhere with an upscale eastern feel to it, go here. Oh, and you can always reserve a private room for a party if you want. They have the "blue room" for groups of up to 30.

The lounge is the great place to hang out and eat dinner. Service, however can be real hit and miss. There are exceptional wait staff present on most nights, but when they aren't around, it can be exceptionally trying, and nearly impossible to even be recognized when sitting at the bar.
Despite the occasional bad server, it's always worth a visit, exceptional food with rarely a miss.

I loved the bar. Very cosy, warm, fun. People were friendly, room to make new friends.

The restaurant however was a joke. Exceptionally overpriced, under the gise of "ethnic food"... There is nothing good about paying 11bucks for a salad - which was just a few lettuce leaves, and some feta cheese - nothing else.... this was smaller than most side/dinner salads. The clams were good, but nothing special.

My advice is eat elsewhere, but go for the breat bar.

Some of the mixes of drinks weren't so hot - avoid a long island. Otherwise magical.

So a few friends and I were up on Capitol Hill on a rainy Monday night. After refusing to pay a cover at a dead bar (shall remain nameless), I asked our little band to trust me....That we would soon happen upon an unexpected surprise. Not ten minutes went by before we were sitting in the posh surroundings of the Capitol Club. Cool, cushy, classy. The club turned an otherwise mundane Monday into a memorable night out. The Hogarten reminded me of London...

I've been a CC regular for years, and the place never ceases to please me. I love sipping summer coctails on their beautiful garden patio a couple of nights a week, feeling the warm summer breezes and listening to sultry music floating in from inside the bar. Last night, I decided to try the cozy downstairs restaurant for the first time, and ended up feasting on this incredible baked halibut, and perhaps the best salad I have ever had--a green salad with the most delicious balsamic dressing. My friend and I were having such a good time, that we decided to skip the movie and go upstairs to the bar. My date was very impressed with the cozy and exotic bar atmosphere, and the excellent table service.

I dined at the Capitol Club on Tuesday night, and was delighted to discover that all of their wine was half price that night. So, my friends and I decided on two bottles of Alexis Swanson, and the server helped us to select food to complement it. We started with a huge plate of mussels, which was the best I've ever tasted! The mussles came swimming in a zesty tomato harissa sauce.....It was so good that I was tempted to take the couple of remaining tablespoons of sauce home. I've always loved the food at the Capitol Club, and it just keeps getting better! We're certainly coming back next Tuesday night.

I had never been to your place, but finally made it there a few months ago. I love the decor and the ambiance. A great place to go for drinks inside, or outside on the terrace. I didn't get to try the food, but am certainly looking forward to it soon! The capitol club is definitely on my list of places to go in Seattle!

Going to the Capital club on a reccomendation was a very good idea. Iwas there on adate and more or less i was just there to be with my friend and chill out, but after recieving our food our conversation dwindled to a a complete halt as we became totally engrossed in our meals. The break in the frenzy was our seaver recommending a wine to go with the food, needless to say with a nod the wine was there and the match was sublime. You have a new regular. Thank you!

On the evening of Saturday 27 I was dining at the Capitol Cub with 4 of my friends, where I had usually enjoyed the bar I thought I would test the waters downstairs. From the service to the food everything was perfect. Being that there were five of us I got to see and try alot of the food and was wholly satisfied. In all honesty I was quite surprised at the quality of food coming out of a kitchen of an establishment that is known for it's cocktails and not it's cuisine. To top it off the server was elegant and knowledgeable as we asked her many questions about the wine and the food.
Bravo.... I will be back

I have never been taken care of as well as at the Capitol Club, and this in a city known for good service. Our cocktailer was funny and friendly when we wanted to talk to him, and invisible when we wanted to talk to each other (though he did keep our drinks coming). Bombay is Bombay no matter where you drink it, but the club mixes a good martini in a large glass. Can't say much about the food; all I've had is the pita/hummous/olive plate, which is fine, but it looks like there's a pretty fine menu which might warrent further perusal.

I really wanted to like this place. It's got a great location, and the atmosphere is cool. Let this serve as a testimonial that a cool space does not a great bar make. The problem is, far and away, the service. Each time I've been in, it's taken at least 20 minutes for a server to even notice our existence. Then when they do finally take our order, it takes so long that you wonder if they've forgotten about you or your server's gone on break or something. Lastly, I can forgive slow service if the person is at least pleasant, but the 'tude is over the top. I've tried to give the CC several chances, knowing that it IS possible to hit a place on a bad night, but I've been there four times and I haven't noticed any difference. I will not be going back to this bar.

A favorite of my boyfriend and I. We stopped by for a few drinks recently. My boyfriend ordered a mixed drink that was admittedly a complicated one to make. It was one of the worst I've ever had. I asked the waiter for something else and he proceeded to school me on the drink and inform me that this is how the drink was made and someone who knew this drink would like it. I assured him it wasn't my inexperience sipping cocktails that made this drink pond water. He brought a new cosmo that had lipstick around the edges. I pointed this out and assured him that we were both boys and we were not infact wearing makup. He failed to see the humor and sloppily took the glass away without asking if we wanted a replacement. With so many places in Seattle, it's unfortunate that some get smug.

I've been to the Capitol Club a million times and I never tire of it. It's perfect for a night out with the girls or a drink with a date. The deck upstairs is ideal on a sunny evening and even better when the sun goes down. Don't forget to order something---the food can be terrific.
