Van Horn Michael Dvm - Woodside Animal Hospital

Dr. Mike is a wonderful vet. Clinically sharp and approachable. He figured out in one visit what 6 other vets and $3,000 invested in non-productive tests, vet visits and unnecessary medications hadn't been able to fix. It's not the best news but I feel certain I will be guided to the best care possible for my dog, Lola. I highly recommend this business. The reception staff and vet techs were very nice. It was worth the 40 minute drive to get there.

I have been to Woodside numerous times since we first moved into the area 2 years ago. First time was when my girl 9 weeks after having pups was having issues and needed an emergency spay. I received appalling service at Bethel Animal Hospital so declined to allow them to treat her and half an hour later had an appt with Dr Mike at Woodside. I will not go anywhere else now. I even traveled from Seattle to take my boy there for one last appt with Dr. Jeff a couple days before his departure to Louisiana. I have never met a vet more compassionate and friendly than him and while we were very sad that he was leaving we did and still do wish him the best of luck and continue to take our animals to Dr. Mike. Love the office staff and everyone there. They have always done their best to save us as much money as possible. If you want an exceptional vet this is definitely the place to go and I dont care if I am a state away this is where I will continue to go.

I contacted the animal hospital this morning to discover that Dr. Jeff Shumaker is no longer with the clinic! He has moved back to Louisiana. He was a wonderful and caring vet! He will be missed. I did speak with a technician in regards to a cut on the foot pad of my pup. Trudy I believe?? VERY helpful and informative! Although I will miss Jeff, everyone at the clinic has always been so caring with my two puppies. I will certainly continue with care through Woodside.

I cannot think of taking my 12 year old Rott anywhere else. Dr. Jeff has been so compassionate and concerned for her. He has even made house calls to see how she has been. She may be old, but half the time you wouldn't even know it. I absolutely love the treatment he gives to her and how he recognizes our concerns. She is part of the family and we know she won't be around much longer. Thank you Jeff for treating her like your own.

Standing ovation for this great team of vets and efficient office staff. Remember, vets depend upon us, the animal owners, to be part of the treatment team. My eleven year old cat has become a frisky kitten again under their care, and will remain so if I follow through with treatment they prescribe. It took money to diagnose something that was not apparent with less costly lab work, but their charges are reasonable. Like being a parent, sharing life with God's creation is a privilege that requires responsibility. If you use your brain and ask to be educated about what you don't understand, you will receive the service you both agree upon.

While Woodside is certainly convenient for us, we will not return. I am appalled at the service and treatment that we received when it was time to send our beloved geriatric girl over the Rainbow Bridge.

I took my two 8 week old min-pin pups for check up and vaccination today. I am more than impressed with the staff and the vet (Dr Mike I think). I thought the cost to be very reasonable as compared to my previous vet who I was less than impressed with. I went to Woodside because it was recommended to me by an existing client. I will most certainly keep using this clinic for all my pups vet needs. JAne :-)

I found out about the Woodside Animal hospital via the Saints Car Club. At the time I was taking Sophie, our 10 year old Basset Hound, on the ferry to an animal hospital in Seattle. With less than satisfactory results in Seattle, I heard how great the help was by Keana and Mike Van Horn were so I tried them to help Sophie with old age and staph infection that affected her ears, eyes, very dry skin and urine. She must have been uncomfortable, but being strong little girl she never complained, until we noticed the quality of her life was failing. Not any more... she will run and play and chase her bud Henry. She does not strain when she has to go out side any more. Due to Keana's regimen of med baths and presciptions to fight infections. She is now very active and happy Basset Hound. The Van Horn's need to be recognized for their expertise and kindness to our animal friends.

As a relief veterinary technician, I don't work at any one clinic that would enable me to get great care for my pets by my employer. I am forced to "shop" around like any other client. I am very pleased with the services provided at Woodside Animal Hospital. The clinic is clean and the front staff is friendly, professional and efficient. The veterinary technicians, as well as the veterinary assisants, are skilled at a myriad of tasks. Not only are they proficient at their skills, they take great pride to treat all the patients with care and respect. The veterinarians provide a high quality of medicine and have a sincere concern for their patients and their clients.

I don't know what the other poster's problem was -- they probably weren't a good or observant owner. And duh, they're not going to take you back into the tech area while it's busy if your animal is not in serious condition. That's like asking to stand in the middle of a five star kitchen during the dinner rush, just so you can see them make your salad. Some people.....

Anyways, I took my dog here for a regular exam, but I did have some concerns. The doc was real understanding and made sure to check everything out. Turns out, my hunch was right and Buddy has diabetes. It could have killed him if we didn't catch it.

Bottom line, these vets are great!

The front staff were cheery and helpful, very fun.

I brought in my cat for a minor thing. The vet said they found blood in her cage while she was there. I have never found blood in her sand box at home. The vet wanted to do more testing that costed a whole lot more. The front desk stuff were not friendly. They did not let me see my cat until all the testing was done at the end of the day. I was tired of them and just wanted to have my cat back. After my cat came home, I have never found any blood any where. The people at this hospital caused me and my cat emotional stress. They waisted our time and money. I will never go back there again.

Our two cats, (one especially), are regular customers at the Woodside Animal Hospital. I have always been treated courteously and my cats have always been loved! Dr Isbell is one of the best. She has taken great care of my older cat and patched him up more times than I want to count. She calls him sweetheart. The care has been wonderful and the communication is great. They always let me know what is wrong, give me an estimate and ask if I want to proceed with the treatment/surgery. Their costs are reasonable and they will work a very ill animal in on a full schedule.

PROS: Kind, sensitive, prices are reasonable.
CONS: very busy

Our dog was very ill, and we took her to the female veterinarian at this office. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for our beloved pet, and we had to put her to sleep. It was very sad for all of us. The veterinarian and office staff were so very kind to us. They were very compassionate knowing what we were doing was very difficult for us.
There location is easy to find, and they have a lot of parking, and walking spots for the animals to do their business. The lobby has a lot of room if you need to keep animals separated.
