Pros: Outstanding food and selections

Cons: A little expensive, but worth it

Cafe Veloce isn't in the easiest to find location (in the Totem Lake area of Kirkland near Evergreen Hospital), but it's certainly worth pulling on the MapQuest directions to find it.

Veloce offers traditional Italian favorites, some with a twist. Try their take on bruschetta that includes green olives and red pepper flakes for an added kick. Our favorite entree is the Chicken Scampi (aka "The Sleeping Pill" because it's so yummy that you want to cozy up and take a nap). It's so delicious that you'll want to mop up the sauce just to make sure you get the last drop. Another delicious option is the Dungeoness Scallopini.

And you can wash it all back with a pretty impressive wine selection. What's not to like!?! Portions are generous, so you might consider sharing plates.

Added bonus: the restaurant's size and layout make it a perfect spot for date night or familes with kids. Couples can enjoy a cozy spot by the fireplace while parents may chose to sit with their children in the back area.

My husband and I decided to try Cafe Veloce because of the high praise it got here. We went on a Saturday night and it was so crowded and noisy, I couldn't wait for the meal to be over. They have as many tables as they can fit in the space. The food wasn't anything special: really bland and uninteresting. I would not go back. Maybe this is a good restaurant compared to others in the suburbs, but I'm sorry, I have higher standards.

I like to visit this restaurant whenever I am in the Kirkland area. I always try the different pasta dishes and am never disappointed. The prices are medium - medium high. The staff is attentive and the food is delicious.

I love their pastas! My favorites are the Clams Giulio, Chicken Scampi, Caesar Salad, and Tiramisu! This is more of a casual place with an unexpected motorcycle theme. Guess the owners really love motorcycles. Different but the food is Great! The wait staff is very friendly and do a great job.

I have been enjoying this restaurant for at least fifteen years. It is a fairly small place in a Totem Lake strip mall. Inside, it is decorated with Italian motorcycles and accompanying periphernalia--which gives it a fun sort of look.

The menu is the standard pizza and pasta fare, supported by a nice variety of brews and wine. Everything is good, but my favorite is a clam pasta dish that has been on the menu (under different names) ever since we found the place.

Service is fast and friendly. Kids and old ladies are treated like royalty--this was my late great aunt's very favorite place to go out to eat. The place always seems busy, with a bustling, cheerful sound level, but the wait staff knows its business and no one gets lost in the shuffle. There is also a small outside seating area in summer.

Prices are good for large amounts of tasty food and friendly service. It can get a little busy at the weekend and you might have to wait for a table, but that's to be expected.

PROS: Delicious pizza and pasta and the wherewithall to wash it down
CONS: Not a thing

My husband and I use to come on dates here before we were married. The first time we went, I had the chicken scampi and in the 9 years we have been dining at Cafe Veloce, I have only tried one other thing. (which was also excellent)! We have brought so many friends to try it and they are all addicted now too! The staff is so kind and even the owners sons who are little skater boys treat everyone wonderfully!
We always start to look for a new Italian restaurant...but always end up right back at Cafe Veloce! Try it...absolutely wonderful!

I went many many years ago for the first time with friends and ordered the Pasta Formaggio and have been hooked since. Someday I suppose I should order something new. I have always ordered the same thing everytime I've been there. Cool atmosphere, great food, good service.

This is the first restaurant my husband and I have visited in our new neighborhood, and it made for a great welcome. The food is wonderful (kind of Italian with Greek influences), the atmosphere is laid back, and the prices are completely in line with the offerings. We will definitely be returning.

(BTW, we went with my extended family, including two small children, and everyone enjoyed their food. The children's pizzas are huge though: they could easily have shared one.)

Very good casual, family friendly restaurant. Calamari is very good, and not fried. Minestrone is very good with a bit of a New Orleans twist. Good service from this family owned restaurant. Very interesting Italian vintage racing motorcycles on display. Check out the motorcycle races on the TV's (It's actually a video game, amazing!)
