more than just a place to eat before theatre

by Douglas A. B. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 253

Top drawer Asian Fusion food near the Paramount Theatre. They have a Chicken Lettuce Cup that is better than anything you've ever eaten with "Asian" in the name. Because of their location, be sure to get reservations if you're going on a theatre or concert night.

Good

Good food and drinks.... Sometimes overpacked but I think that just says how good it is... as far as good places to go downtown I would put this one towards the top.

good food

by Rajan M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,727

The dragonfish asian cafe has been in running for years. It's run by a chinese family who is oh so very nice. The food is great. Try to Spanokopita if it's featured as a special. Also the grilled feta platter is a favorite. The avgolemono soup is tasty as is the gyros platter. Finish it all off with a piece of almond baklava. It's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

PROS: good food
CONS: messy

!!!happy hour time!!!

by shianxiu s. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 963

i went during the happy hour time, and the sushi and drinks, were well over worth the actual price. my boyfriend olin had his favorite, the gyoza, while i, of course, had my favorite, toro. the sake was tasteful. it was even served in a huge huge huge bottle. weuh! i would definately recommend this place for those of you who would like to pay the cheap price but have good-tasting sushi/sake, then dragon fish is the place to be!!!

There is a great selection of asian fusion type food here. If you go between the hours of 4pm and 6pm and 10pm and 1:30am it is happy hour which let me just tell you, is great. With $1.50 half sushi rolls you can stuff yourself silly for like 15 bucks. Additionally you can order small plates of yummy tasty dishes for like 3 bucks. Also - there is a great happy hour drink menu which includes a lime rickey which is quite yummy. Not on the happy hour menu is the Wasabi Mary. Like a Bloody Mary but with Wasabi, it tastes good and is filling.
