The service is really what drags this place down more than anything else. The food is decent but nothing that special.

Two thumbs down.....

We arrived before going to the theatre. Service was lackluster and the beef was gristle quality. If you want to try different kinds of sake they have quite a collection, but if you want good beef go somewhere else!

I eat here every time I go to the Paramount Theater which is pretty often to see shows over the last few years and this place is so fast and the food is really good! Just went again had tickets to Xanadu and the server was so friendly and fast and we ate like $60 worth of sushi ...we were really in the mood LOL and it all came out fast and fresh! They make good drinks here too! This place is always packed so make a reservation and far as I am concerned if your going to a show at the Paramount try this place!! Yum!

On a recent visit my appetizer arrived AFTER I had finished my entree. I complained about the service and I was asked to leave the restaurant and not return.

Top drawer Asian Fusion food near the Paramount Theatre. They have a Chicken Lettuce Cup that is better than anything you've ever eaten with "Asian" in the name. Because of their location, be sure to get reservations if you're going on a theatre or concert night.

A friend and I decided to take our best friend to Dragonfish for her birthday dinner.(we had never been before.)
We did not wait long to sit, even thought it was a saturday evening. We sat at a great table outside, had ballons and gifts and informed our server that it was our friends birthday.
Let me just say that I have worked in a resturant before, I know that it is definitly not easy, however the neglegence and disrespect that our server gave us was so incredible that for the first time in my life, I did not tip on the bill.
I was horrified. The food all came out at different times, we had to beg for water, and it took us literally 25 minutes to get our check. I had to walk inside and ask the hostess if we could please get our check and leave the resturant! I will never waste my money or time there ever again. I have now had several friends also try this cafe and they have also agreed the service was terrible.

As a side note to those willing to try it still:
The food was pretty decent, and there was plenty of variety on the menue, the portions of the entrees were just "ok" and the prices are not unreasonable.

I was really excited to come try this place out and I finally had the chance to. When I got there everything was fine at first than I began realizing the slow service and the slow manager working at the time. Trying to get the waitress's attention was a nightmare!

The presentation of their food was really nice thought, but the taste was mediocre nothing special, if you want to try head for the 30% off tab times at least you won't fee like it wasn't a complete waste.

I will not being going back there fore sure!

Great place to get sushi! I am always looking for places that have sushi and have other options as well for my husband who does not eat sushi...this place fit the bill! The food was great and the atmosphere was 'upscale cozy'. Get there early, the happy hour seating fills up fast!

First of all the staff was horrible. The server ran to our table & started speaking even before he reached us speaking at a 1000 words per second. His first line was "what would you like?" in .2 seconds. Feeling rushed, I quickly ordered & he bolted off faster than he even arrived.

The great thing was that the food came out within 5-7 minutes. I was really impressed with that, but that is where it would end. I have had better spicy crab & california rolls at Safeway in the deli aisle. All the rolls were premade earlier in the day & the avocado had turned brown. Also the ingredients were all soggy. The chicken potstickers literally tasted just like the frozen cheap ones at Costco, but less tasty.

Not only were the rolls bad, they only came with only 3 small pieces each. For $3, it's not much of a happy hour deal. I definitely recommend Wasabi Bistro or Umi over this place. Though they may take longer, at least they make the food when you order it & not just chill it for hours premade.

Good food and drinks.... Sometimes overpacked but I think that just says how good it is... as far as good places to go downtown I would put this one towards the top.

I like going to this place for happy hour when I'm in downtown. Last week I went there and the bartender recommended this new beer called Pandan Ale. It's very tasty and unique! Look for the Buddha handle.

The place can be empty or insainely packed. Nosh is small, but tastes great. Bartenders know what goes where & why, but seemed a tad out of it, to me. I had a good time soaking it all in.

My husband and I stayed at the Paramount Hotel, and so tried the Dragonfish Cafe twice during our stay. We went for dinner on Friday night, the wait was short, but the noise inside was almost intolerable. (Okay, I had a migraine, but still, you couldn't even have a conversation without screaming.) My husband's steak was very good, but it was a small portion served with nothing else but onion slices. My cashew chicken was great, spicy without scorching, great sauce and nice vegetables, but the crispy noodles were strange and unsatisfying altogether. We spent $55 for 2 small entrees and a Coke- a little pricey for what we got, in my opinion.
We decided to go back on Sunday for brunch, purely because of the location, and the fact that we had a 2 hour wait until our train left. My husband had the ham and cheese omelette with country potatoes, which was good, but nothing spectacular. I had the french toast with blueberry compote, which was actually a good sized portion and very tasty. The french toast had a lemony essence, and the warm blueberry compote added a nice touch.
While not overly impressed by the Friday evening experience, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at brunch. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive, and the decor is unique and interesting. The price was too high in my opinion, but this is a restaurant in downtown Seattle, what more can I say?

Dragon fish has so-so food with a great atmosphere. The people there are friendly but the food is not so great. If you are really in the mood for asian food, avoid this place because this is expensive and lots of the food has lots of salt. So overall, great for meeting up with friends but the food is not the best.

I ordered, "SESAME CRUSTED AHI TUNA - hichimi pepper crusted ahi seared rare and served with mixed green salad, scarlet orange vinaigrette and cilantro aioli." What I got was lumps of raw ahi, not at all seared, no pepper crust at all. The so called salad was a mound of cooked greens of an unidentifiable type, possibly even seaweed. There was some kind of hot peppers on the greens. There were little mounds of rice and some crackers. No vinaigrette of any kind. No aioli of any kind. Nothing on the menu even vaguly resembles what I actually received. Had I wanted unassembled sushi, I would have ordered it. I didn't. I prefer my fish at least slightly cooked. I was with a group of new acquaintances though and didn't want to make a fuss. So I just ate it. Nevertheless, I certainly won't be going back. Is it really too much to ask to get what I ordered? It would be one thing to just make a mistake and give me the wrong dish, but they actually made up something completely new that's not even on the menu!

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant after hearing positive things about the food. I tried a few of the sushi rolls, while he tried the appetizers. We both had the drinks which were great... I highly recommend the Lime Ricky, it's made with their lemongrass infused vodka... Very good. My husband and I both enjoyed the appetizers... The sushi, however, left much to be desired. It actually tasted store bought which was a huge disappointment. If you decide to go try the appetizers instead.

In Seattle for the weekend...was a convenient place downtown. Cute decor, nice atmosphere. Tasty food....bulgogi was not authentic, but still good. Squid appetizer was very good, roasted duck spring rolls blah. Server might as well have been in Asia for all we knew....did not say ONE thing to us. Seemed to be quite attentive to the people ordering drinks though...Tiny portions and expensive...not a good combo, but had a good time overall.

I've eaten at Dragonfish more times then I can count... Let me rephrase I have eaten in the restaurant twice and received the worst service imaginable. They food is always so good, but now I only do take out.
Even the hostesses will give attitude while on the phone with them placing my take out order. And the same attitude is apparent when I arrive to pick up.

I've never eaten off the main menu, just happy hour, and I love it! The bosa nova roll is my fave, and I'll usually get calamari (which has the BEST tipping sauce ever), potstickers, and ahi. Prices are great and service is pretty good. There's always good people watching to be done there, too.

The food is not worth the terrible service at Dragonfish. My friends and I went here for a working lunch and our waiter was arrogant, unattentive and completely unhelpful. And a bit of a meathead if you ask me. He not only couldn't answer my friend's question about the content of the various sauces but he was totally unwilling to help her with a creative solution for her allergy needs. All he had to do was ask the cook. A plate of steamed veggies would have dine the trick but apparently this was too much trouble for our server to manage.

First off, how very cool to offer both a standard and a 10pm to 1am Happy Hour - and on the weekend at that?? The "small plates" are both inexpensive ($1.95 to $3.95) and incredibly delectable. My faves include the Lime Rickey Shrimp, the Caramel Ginger Chicken, the Hichimi Squid and the Edamane. The drinks are tasty and the beers ice cold.

For a fun date go play games at Gameworks like a kid or catch a movie then walk around the corner to Dragonfish and have fun like the grownup you are :)

I don't think I've ever had worse service anywhere. Waitress took 10 minutes just to take our drink order. Our appetizer came before we even had water on the table--I had to ask the server for water. The busgirl took our appetizer plates/chopsticks and tried to take my tea ("are you done with your tea?") before our entrees came. Food comes, no chopsticks to eat with. Waitress took my tea to refill it but never brought it back. My boyfriend had a disappointing martini--not chilled with olives tossed in (no toothpick). Although the food was decent, you couldn't pay me to eat here again.

One of my favorite happy hour places because of their $2.95 cocktails (only four though). Even though they say it's from 4-6pm, I've shown up at 5:45pm and been told it's over. Definitely go early on busy Friday nights. I really enjoy their selection of small plates that are either $2.95 or 3.95--my favorites are their crab cakes, crab wontons, chicken potstickers and chicken satays. Sushi is $1.95. If you were to order these same dishes after 6pm, you would get the same portion, at double the price. Service is hit and miss, but for happy hour, I honestly don't really mind. It's a hotel restaurant--they don't expect you to come back, and it shows. But if you want cheap yet strong drinks and good food, I would definitely recommend. A note about bathrooms: be prepared to go back into the hotel lobby and take the elevator up two floors.

The dragonfish asian cafe has been in running for years. It's run by a chinese family who is oh so very nice. The food is great. Try to Spanokopita if it's featured as a special. Also the grilled feta platter is a favorite. The avgolemono soup is tasty as is the gyros platter. Finish it all off with a piece of almond baklava. It's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This restaurant has wonderful food with a big selection. We took a friend of mine that doesn't usually branch out from American or Italian food. She still had a great time and found some food that she liked. We had her get the California rolls and she actually ate them! That's a big step in the right direction for her, so they must be doing something right. :) I had a wonderful time. I will be going back.

My first visit, I waited 45 minutes for a table, despite having a reservation. I went with friends on my first visit to Dragonfish and was impressed by a large drink menu, but not impressed by the small plates. These plates are indeed quite small, and quite expensive. After ordering them, they showed up and were decent, but way too pricey for what you get. We left hungry, despite a $200 tab and each person having 2-3 drinks. My second visit was much the same, but we had to wait an hour for a table - despite having a reservation. It is very hard, apparently, to seat a large group here.

There is a great selection of asian fusion type food here. If you go between the hours of 4pm and 6pm and 10pm and 1:30am it is happy hour which let me just tell you, is great. With $1.50 half sushi rolls you can stuff yourself silly for like 15 bucks. Additionally you can order small plates of yummy tasty dishes for like 3 bucks. Also - there is a great happy hour drink menu which includes a lime rickey which is quite yummy. Not on the happy hour menu is the Wasabi Mary. Like a Bloody Mary but with Wasabi, it tastes good and is filling.

We made reservations 2 weeks in advance and the staff did not have the reservations. I showed up 1/2-hour early & tried to solve this dilema w/ the staff. They were unsympathetic to our problem. The staff refused to help us find another restaurant or seat us (we had time constraints do to a show at the Paramount). The staff ended up trying to shove us into a 4-person booth (we had 6) in the bar. The bar was incredibly smokey and we had an 11-month old child. This was unacceptable, we left. The staff sat about 30-40 people while they ignored us.

Cons: , Disorganized Staff, Rude Staff

The arrangement of the dining room was a little peculiar, as there could have been more table space, but the food was flavorful and the service was fast. The items seem a little pricey for what we got, but they tasted good and the overall experience was enjoyable.

Pros: selection, service

Cons: , noisy

I finally checked this place out after many people raved about it, and I just wasn't impressed. We went for the Dim Sum which isn't Dim Sum at all. The food was average (except for the sushi, which was rather tasty), the service was terrible, it was cold, and the price was a bit high for what we got. I'd say give it a shot, but don't go in there expecting the rating this place has on citysearch. It's not that good.

Pros: No longer hungry

The Dragonfish is a nice place to eat or get a small plate maybe before a show or other function downtown. However IT IS NOT AN 8.6 for after work bar. There are some entries that make sense, but I think the Citysearch method for ratings is poor and misleads those who might think they are going to place for rating that is not given correctly. Also if your going to name a after work bar I would suggest the Garage on Capitol Hill seeing has how the place is usually packed especially towards the end of the week. Great food, a deck, billiards, and bowling...... It's all good!

Pros: Apps, Dim Sum, Location

Cons: , Mixed Drinks, Location

.

The food and the service quality is average... But the location and late happy hour time (10PM-1AM) make this spot worth stopping by when you're on the late night prowl. The selection of sushi is a couple bucks a plate, but the size and quality is less than conveyor-belt-restaurant sushi. Don't expect to get full off of the other small plates, but the selection and taste is overall good enough to be worth trying a variety. The environment compensates for the soso sushi, making Dragonfish a good location to sit back and have a few laughs with your buds. Just make sure you make reservations, or you may be waiting a good 20+ minutes.

Pros: laid back environment, happy hour menu, attractive decor

Cons: , seating wait time, unimpressive sushi

A bit pricey for the small selection of sushi that you get, but there are a wide range of other dishes to chose from as well. The place has a nice authenic feel to it with great decor and a good vibe. Not a place I'd go every day unless Im trying to burn a hole in my wallet. But none the less, and nice place for a night out down town near everything

If you're into the "trendy" thing, this is your place. To me "trendy" means you're paying 10 times more than you should. The food is way overpriced and limited selection. Forget about the Asian title, tt is mostly just Japanese. It's a good place for a group hand-out for late night drinks, but don't go here for the food! You've been warned.

Pros: lively crowd, fun environment, late night handout

Cons: avg overprice food

It's a cool, chic place that is good for eating and socializing. The food is not that good unfortunately. Look at my other reviews, I am usually pretty easy. The sushi is a notch above grocery store sushi. The other items are ok, but at least a couple of notches below Wild Ginger.

This place is good for late night munching and socializing.

Went there after a show at the Paramount without having had dinner prior to the show. We had to wait about 15 minutes but it was worth it. It was lively, fun, trendy, chic, friendly, tastey, and a decent value. We frequent Seattle and Vancouver BC and eat out alot (too much actually) and would definately go here again. My only complaint is the edammame pods were over salted. This is a sure bet on my late night post show dining choices in downtown. (Last Saturday the patio dining during good weather looked inviting on our walk past on our way to another dining experience.)

I had read the mixed reviews and was curious. The restaurant itself is quite attractive, with a nicely done Asian decor and comfortable seating. The service was gracious, helpful, friendly and prompt. And the food? Wow! We loved it. We ordered plate after plate of dim sum till no one could eat another bite and THEN we shared several desserts, which were also wonderful. The bill (excluding the bottle of wine) was $80 for four people. Our friends said it was the best night in recent memory, and we have decided to make this a regular event.

Pros: elegant decor, flavorful dishes, excellent value

Cons: none, really. None

The food is awful. Once, I ordered their bento lunch box and my orange beef tasted musty. Ick. Drinks are also week. If you are in the mood for Asian food, skip this restaurant and take the bus to the International District.

The wife had been to the Dragonfish in Portland, and she wasn't impressed, so I didnt expect much from the one in Seattle. It looks like it was stuffed into the bottom floor of the hotel at the last minute. Service was very friendly though. It was the only place in town where 19 year old people could eat at 10pm on a sunday. Kind of sad really. Presentation, and flavor was varied and exciting, but the size of the portions for the price left us hungry. The cocktails had some creative ingredients, but not too long on the value. If you have the money and have already eaten, or arent very hungry I highly recommend it. It is a treat for the eyes and tongue, but the stomach may be disappointed

I had never been to the Dragonfish before and was delightfully suprised. The diversity of the menu offered something for everyone in our party of five. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting a unique dining experience.

This place is awful! bad service & terrible food, the dim sum is just their appetizer menu (basically), and since when did Japanese dishes become dim sum? Yuck, Yuck, Yuck!
