Homestreet Bank

Although we're crazy upsidedown in our own home mortgage all the times that i've dealt with Homestreet over the phone i've been so impressed with their level of customer service. I've only ever talked to real people who seem genuinely interested in what i have to say. Now, if only i can get a loan modification....

Homestreet Bank has several solid programs set up for first time home buyers. They also offer classes for free and have some great information about the entire process. The application process was pretty easy and they walked me through the process, and I received a competitive loan rate. The only downside was that I had some assistance from my parents for the down payment and Homestreet was extremely thorough and persistent about documenting that process.

Liz at Homestreet helped us out with our first mortgage. She came highly recommended by friends who's gone through the first house buying process before us. Homestreet has been very helpful in this process and we haven't had any complaints whatsoever.

PROS: friendly service
CONS: none to speak of
