Great food - lacking in atmosphere

For us, Bick's is a mixed bag. The food was great - I especially like their coconut rice, but then what's not better with coconut? Unfortunately, the acoustics are terrible, to the point that my husband and I had to lean into each other's ears and raise our voices to hear one another while we were sitting right next to each other - not exactly the atmosphere I would choose for a relaxing evening out. Also, the food is overpriced for its quality, which I would be inclined to ignore after a calm meal and pleasant night out, but seems like a bigger issue when going home with a headache.

Mocha Mousse in a Mug -- Must Try!

This is the "go-to" restaurant for my husband and me when we manage to get babysitting and get out of the house. From the delicious "small plates," including Thai red curry mussels, to the delectable "large plates," including a blackberry pork skewer that is to die for, we've loved everything on their menu. Hundreds of bottles of hot sauces line a shelf along the roof, letting you know that the food is spicy -- and it is, but not overwhelmingly so. They have a very good selection of alcoholic drinks of various sorts, but I always save my money for the must-have treat here: their mouthwatering "Mocha Mousse in a Mug." It's a treat that we savor bite by delicious bite every time we go, and we always wish we could bring a rubber spatula to get out every last little bit of chocolate!

Great Neighborhood Place, and...

worth driving to even if you don't live in the neighborhood. It has a Pub feel, but you can bring your kids. They have great burgers and steaks, but also good seafood - particularly the crab cakes. And the bartender is no slouch - they use the real deal, no bottled mixers. Try a sidecar or a lemon drop, you won't regret it. Lots of beers on tap and a good wine list, too.
