In Short
The layout is warehouse-sparse. The music is familiarly hip. And pickiness is a virtue. The store's buyers selectively sort through possible acquisitions for current men's and women's styles, especially those with impressive labels. The most ostentatious brands garner wall space: Diesel, Anna Sui, bebe, Dolce & Gabbana. But racks harbor a plethora of well-preserved, young contemporary styles and a handful of inexpensive new merchandise from Rampage, Mooks and Greed Girl.

Reviews for Crossroads Trading Co

Ratings_icons good used clothes

Crossroads, located right on Broadway on Cap.Hill, is definitely an above-average used clothes shop.
The quality of their clothes is consistently higher than what you expect at thrift shops. For that reason, the prices aren't always cheap, though.
They also buy clothes, but they won't buy unless what you bring in is up to their standards.

Ratings_icons Not bad selection, reasonable money for your stuff

Ruth W. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,944

I came here once in an attempt to sell some of my clothing that I don't wear anymore or can't fit and they bought probably about 60% of what I brought in. The buyer who was looking through my things seemed to pick most of my designer clothing which I thought was curious as there were some items in there I thought for sure they'd take, but because they didn't have labels, they decided not to. If you have some designer clothing that you want to get good money for, I'd recommend this place. If you are looking to just shop, I think it's a great place to find some rare vintage items and couture at a much lower price.

PROS: They pay you a decent amount of money for your clothing
CONS: Have no interest in "non-brand" items

Ratings_icons Love the store, hate the wait

Brandy C. | insider Insider | Rank: 32,849

This is an excellent place to shop for name brand cheap stuff! I think there prices are great but the wait to sell is awful!! I've had to wait up to an hour with kids in tow only to sell a few measly items, not worth it! If your going there to shop it's great, to sell not so hot.

Ratings_icons Overpriced for used items, but great styles!

Sara G. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,076

I really like and dislike this store for a few reasons. First, it'sa great place to sell your old clothes that you know you'll never wear again. I sometimes go in to trade foe swankier duds. They have a big selection of great styles, which can be a pain to search through. And even though the prices can be slightly higher than you might expect for used clothes, I inevitably find great items on occasion. I recommend highly at least going in to check it out.

PROS: Nice sales people, great selection of clothes
CONS: Kind of pricey, don't give much for selling clothes

Ratings_icons like buffalo exchange..

Only I just don't like it as much. They seem to have a very decent selection of shoes, but the ambiance is such that I just never want to go there. I think their stuff is decently priced, though.

Ratings_icons I'd have to agree...

C O. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,916

with the other reviews of Crossroads Trading Co. I always stop in if I have time, but the times I've actually found something worth purchasing are few and far between. I gave them 3 instead of 2 stars for the fabulous pair of business-y work pants I found on my last rummage through. Also, I've had pretty good luck selling clothes to them; Crossroads seems to be less picky than the Red Light across the street.

PROS: Less picky about what they buy from you
CONS: Good finds are few and far between

Ratings_icons From a male's perspective

Kevin D. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,669

Not my first choice. I just want to clear that off the bat. The male section in really small. Therefore the selection is nearly non-existent. Unless you have bad taste. Hehe. Okay it's not that bad. I just havent had any luck with finding shirts and/or pants. Too large or too tacky. Never the less, I really like the low prices and selection for the females. If you see a confused fellow with a hint of disappointment in his eye, give him a hug.

PROS: male section is small and tacky
CONS: cheaper than other vintage places

Ratings_icons Hit or Miss

At crossroads you just never know what your going to find or if you'll find anything at all. Sometimes I'll go into the dressing room with an armfull of items but leave the store empty handed. While other times--and this is what keep me coming back--I'll find the perfect pair of slightly used jeans or the perfect jacket at a price i dont even have to think twice about.

PROS: Good deals, Brand names, Some Designer items
CONS: Often very time comsuming

I have better luck shopping at the value village on Capital Hill. As a plus size girl, I just can not find anything on the racks at Crossroads. While I stare enviously at the size 2 chickies that seems to find oodles of wonderful things to wear, I figured that even if I can get down to a size 12 I still won't be able to find anything wearable...

PROS: Great stuff for size 2 - 7.
CONS: Too many clothes, not enough room to walk through the store.

I have friends who frequent Crossroads and swear their life on the store. They really do walk out with nice clothing, sometimes used looking, but generally they get pretty good deals. While I can't seem to find the same value in the store, I have to admit, by their experiences, that it has potential. I think the best way to get a good value at Crossroads is by frequenting the store often - if you have the time.

I have never had any luck finding clothes at Crossroads Trading Co. The majority of what I see there is XS or S, or just flat out too used to buy for the price they are asking. I still go by occasionally to browse and come away with some fashion dos and donts, but if youre looking for decent, cheap clothing, head down the street to the Old Navy or try the Goodwill.

Ratings_icons A fun place to stop by

shetharbozenai

Just like any other re-sell store, sometimes they have good stuff and sometimes not. I've found some cute clothes and shoes for very reasonable prices. What they have change constantly and fairly quickly. So if you've found something you like, you have to get it right then because chances are it may not be there next time you go. But make sure you want it because they do not accept exchanges or return!

Pros: Reasonable prices

Cons: No return!

Ratings_icons Average store....

johnnybyerly

Crossroads is pretty average as far as the used clothing biz goes. Sometimes I find good stuff, sometimes I don't. It seems to cater to mostly Gap and Banana Republic wearing people, with some items that those people would buy and think they were "wild" (the kind who doesn't shop at Red Light) Good prices on things. Very picky buyers, and low cash that they give you for your stuff.

Pros: Space Layed Out Well, Decent Average Items, Decent Prices

Cons: Low Buying offers, Stuck Up Employees, Fast Food atmosphere
