I bought my rat terrier from this place 6 years ago. When i bought her she was so happy to be out of the back of the pet store were ever they stored her. When i got her she was under weight and dirty looking and had un trimed toe nails. And they lied about her age. And a few months later i was driving down the road in my truck and she coughed up a round worm and she had bugs in feces. Costed me over a $1000.00 dollars to get her back to a healthy state and now she has seizures to this day. My girlfriend bought her shih tzu from absolutely puppy no prolems tho.

I've met the owner Carolyn Henrie. It turns out her son was in jail and that she herself is addicted to pain killers. A friend of a friend who purchased a sick dog from her told me this and said that she is very unreliable and does not disclose her dog's true health history.

Any pet store selling puppies IS MORALLY BANKRUPT business. There no doubt about is - ALL puppies selling in any pet stores come from puppy mills and/or backyard breeders. No one reputable breeder never ever sells any puppies to a pet

I got my puppy from AP 6 years ago. She is perfectly fine and healthy. What some people dont realize is that certain breeds of dogs are going to have certain health problems. My jack russell which i purchased at AP got glaucoma a few months ago but that was not AP fault. Yes they are very expensive.. and MOST PET STORES besides humane society and other non profit org. GET THEIR PUPPIES FROM PUPPY MILLS! I used to breed dogs. I know this.

I am going into sixth grade this September 2008. My dad promised me I'm getting two puppies when I graduate from middle school. For me it's not too long only three years right. I was super excited about getting my puppies when my dad said he would get them from wherever I wanted. I remember one time on a trip to somewhere in Seattle we passed by Absolutely Puppy and it looked like a nice place on the out side. But after reading all these reviews I don't want a dog from there any more. I really don't want a dog that's going to die a few days or weeks after I get it. I don't want a races dog. I don't want to purchase my dogs without papers.
I WILL NOT BUY A DOG FROM ABSOLUTELY PUPPY!

We got a cockapoo puppy from absolutely puppy in Aug. of 2003. She was sick with a cough, cold and had worms. After the completion of her antibiotics she has been healthy. She is a very good dog probably from all our love. She is a barker however and after reading all the reviews I wonder where she came from. For those people that put down those who have got puppies from AP please know that most of us have no idea the AP gets their dogs from puppy mills. We are trusting and fell in love with a puppy that we want to be a part of our family. I did go back to AP a few times just to see the puppies. I did notice it continually going down hill with the kids trying to run the place. I am very sad to hear how bad it was. I drove by AP today and noticed that everything is boarded up and they are no longer there. Does anyone know what happened to them? I hope they got what they deserve!!!

We purchased a Basenji puppy from Absolutely Puppies 5 years ago. She has now been diagnosed with Fanconi Syndrome - this is a dangerous genetic disease that is a type of kidney failure. We didn't know until after we received the transfer of AKC paperwork that her grandfather carried the disease and her parents did as well - they should never have been bred! Only a backyard breeder who does not care for the strength and health of the breed would be so careless - shame on you Absolutely Puppies for working with such people! They really do work with puppy mills and irresponsible breeders! Anyone who purchased a basenji in spring of 2003 - GET YOUR DOG TESTED! - her littermates most likely have this disease as well!

I never bought a puppy from Absolutely puppies, but i have heard Lot of bad things about that place. First of all, i have dropped in a couple times to look at the puppies and play with them,. I have also heard about the terrible sicknesses some of the poor puppies have and had....The price in that place is ridiculous so watch out for that and be sure to ask SEVERAL questions before buying a puppy.

Last summer, my 17 year old nephew and I visited AP -- we're dog lovers [my nephew already has a cute little Boston Terrier] and we'd heard of this puppy store, so we decided to drop in just to see and cuddle the puppies. I was shocked when, as we walked in, the "manager" [?] said to us at the door that as she saw us walking in she rushed to lock up a couple of the larger dogs on the premises in an adjacent room because they react negatively to Black people. We didn't want to cause any scene...we petted some very cute puppies and then left...totally uncomfortable with the experience. I assumed, and am probably right, that those larger dogs had been taught to attack. Needless to say, I felt very sorry for my young nephew!

After being turned away from the Bellevue Humane Society very rudely by one worker because "being a college student, you will move a lot and not take care of it," I went to Absolutely Puppies. I didn't intend to buy one, but I fell in love with one of the pups. He has had no health problems, but despite early socialization and training classes, he has behavioral problems.
I visited Absolutely Puppies at a later date and saw fleas on a few of their tiniest dogs. I was sickened and horrified.
I feel guilty for buying a dog, but I was unfairly treated at the Humane Society. As soon as I told the worker I was in college, she was rude and didn't want anything to do with me. I take great care of my dog and he's now 4 years old, and despite his behavior, which I work everyday on, he has a forever home.

Hello Absolutely Puppy in Bellevue Wa. You and many other loving animal people have been Harassed by Meow and their friends and Paws and their friends By false complaints to King County Animal Control to push their Agenda. So many many lies that it is impossible for any one who advertises through pet finders . com a King county Animal Control big brother organization, that they may no longer get hobby licenses or sell licenses so only the out of state puppy mills will have animal for the public. Also Meow and their Friends and Paws and their friends along with King County Animal control go to House to House spreading Provo, FHIV, Hoff and Mouth disease and MERSA Because these people volunteer to go to people who advertise Kittens and Puppy's for sale and spread Viruses that can live for (7) Seven years in their Carpets. King County Animal Control also has a Animal Care meeting once or twice a mouth that is full of Animal people who are adverse (off the deep end) pushing their thoughts and agenda, and the tax payers pay for. Please be informed that Absolutely Puppy has been Harassed, look at public records and call your senators.tom

i read all the reviews that all of you wrote and i am disgusted! how dare they treat puppies so horribly and torment them this way. i feel sorry for all of you. see, i was just reaserching on local places where you could buy a puppy because i wanted to, and i found absolutely puppies and did some research on it. i found all these reviews and was sick. curse them. im going to write them a very long complaint.i just wish king county could give two choises: sell all there puupies for a low price and make sure there aren't any stupid rules in there so called "contract" or they close down there shop and they go to jail. i feel so bad for all those poor puppies who probably end up dying in the store before anybody buys. i wish some one could just buy all the living creatures thereand get them all checked by a vet and then sue absolutely puppies. animal cruelty would be that much less. dont ever buy a puppy there

When i bought my puppie, a rat tettier, from absolutely puppies we noticed a weird spot on his head. We took him to the vet to discover it was ringworm...I could only imagin that the other puppies he was with got infected aswell. Sadly we wernt able to touch out puppie for about a week. But now at 4 years old he is doing fine, but I would NEVER buy a dog from Absolutely Puppies AGAIN!

We had bought an italian greyhound from Absolutely Puppies. We are fortunate that he is healthy now. The owner is unhelpful and the workers are rude. At the time, we did not know that this was a possible puppy mill. We couldn't help but to purchase him. They indicated that he was a great dog that was HEALTHY. But when he brought him home he was vomiting and diarrhea. We waited the next day and he vomited up a worm. We took him to the vet a spend quite a few bucks for the visit. Absolute puppies were very unhelpful!!!!

This place seems to attract the crowd of puppy lovers and people that are un-aware of puppy mills or contagious diseases within purchasing from places like this. Absolutely Puppies is definitely a place that shall be shut down for animal cruelty. I have visited this shop several times, knowing that I won't be purchasing a puppy I visit every so often to see what condition the puppies are in. As a veterinary technician I have dealt with many sick animals and have an idea of what to look for when I arrive there. The poor puppies are kept in small wooden bins with wood chips to sleep on with no blankets or toys to play with. You can find anywhere from one puppy to more than 10 puppies in one bin. Sad to see that these poor pups are actually being purchased after being infected with parvo or other deadly and costly diseases. You'll notice that some puppies are large and others very tiny. Most have been there for a while growing rapidly with no room to grow in there tiny bins. But the workers there don't seem to care, they don't really acknowledge you and if you ask them a question about the puppies background they make it up as they speak. They have NO IDEA what they are talking about, giving wrongful information about the breed and background. I asked for the price of a puppy and she said $950 and I pointed to the other pup which was the same breed and she said $985. What was the difference for? It was the same Puppy wasn't it? Well, since one was smaller than the other she said they had to price it higher. OK? Makes no sense at all! I honestly feel very sad for the puppies there, who knows where they are purchasing them from. It needs to be shut down and taken over by the King County services. These people are killing innocent puppies and making money off of innocent people! PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASES a puppy from here!! Sad to say but there is a 99% chance your puppy is very sick. Don't let the sad and cuddly faces fool you! Please help with petitioning and shutting down this place!

I bought a lab/aust. shephard mix at Absolutely Puppies in April of 2007 for $300. I was in love with this little dog as soon as I saw her. I was nervous about buying a dog here because I had bought a black lab from them 3 years prior that was sick and had to take numerous antibiotics to get well when we got him. I never imagined that this dog would have this horrible disease. 2 days after bringing her home, she became deathly ill, diarrhea and vomiting. We called the emergency number that Carolyn the owner had given us in case our dog got sick. It was 1:30am and she did not answer our page or our phone calls. We called numerous times. After 30 -45 minutes of calling here, we hat to take Maggie to the emergency hospital because she was declining quickly. She was diagnosed with parvo at the ER. Over an hour after we had called the emergency numbers, Carolyn called us and wanted us to take the puppy to her. She wanted to keep the puppy with her all night until her vet opened at 9am. The vet stated that this would be putting Maggie in danger because she was so weak and needed fluids. They advised us not to take Maggie out of the ER. Carolyn was extremely rude and didn't care about my puppy's well being at all. Maggie was in the hospital for 3 days, and died on the 3rd day. She also had worms so she was extremely underweight. She had nothing to fight the disease with. I have pictures of her dying in the hospital and it makes me cry to look at them. I would like anyone who has gone through something like this to please email me. We need to do something about this. In the state of CA you have to legally disclose where you get animals from. I beleive that these dogs come from a puppy mill, and I want it to stop. I don't know if WA has the same laws, but I am going to find out. Please email me if you have gone through this. puppyprotector23@yahoo.com.

We purchased a puppy from AP in 2004 and had an awful experience. The KOMO story this week made me realize that I should post our story as well.

We purchased a female Mini Schnauzer for about $700. We didn't pick her up for a few days and the day after we got her home, she became very ill. We took her straight to our vet, who was gravely concerned and admitted her immediately.

We called AP and got the same story as everyone else (see other reviews). AP said to bring the puppy back in and that they would take care of her. On the phone, Carolyn was obnoxious and heartless. Having a very bad feeling about her and AP, we decided to pay for our vet to treat the puppy.

Our puppy was diagnosed with Parvo a couple days later and the vet was extremely concerned that she would not survive. Our pup was extremely ill (in the animal hospital and on an IV) for 4 days and then got better very quickly (over the span of 24 hours). She is now a happy & healthy 4-year-old.

In the end, we were not only out the $700 we paid AP, but we paid over $2,000 to the vet out of our own pockets. We have no doubt at all that our puppy would not have survived if we brought her back to AP.

Out of concern of the other puppies, we called AP and told them that the pup had parvo and they should isolate the rest of her litter. AP told us (in so many words) that our vet didn't know what they were talking about and the rest of the litter was fine. Given how contagious parvo is, their actions are irresponsible at best and could be considered animal cruelty.

I really hope that King County Animal Services shuts this place down. Honestly, I don't know how AP's owners live with themselves running such an awful business.

Our story was on Komo http://www.komotv.com/news/7640867.html
(CONTINUED FROM BELOW LISTING)
I then said if she had to go to their vet, that I would want to come to the appointment. He said that "Absolutely not." I couldn't come to the appt that it was against their vet's policy. I asked who their vet was. He told me Bellevue Veterinary Medical Center on 156th & Bel Red. I asked which vet did they see, he said Dr. Bruce. I then told Ernie that I would either want to have my vet send their vet the records or I would want to come to the appt. But I didn't want to bring a highly contagious pup to the shop. He said I would have to talk to Carolyn. I then asked again if she wasn't available until 3/3:30 PM. He said yes, but he could reach her. I asked him to call her & see what she said and that I would call the vet myself to see what their "policies" are.
I called their vet's office & spoke to Lauren, the receptionist. I informed her of the situation. She told me that they had no such policy. I could come to the appt as far as they were concerned, but I would have to work it out w/ Absolutely Puppies. I asked about guardianship of the pup. She told me it that whoever is making decisions on the pups care has to have guardianship. {This means if Absolutely Puppies has guardianship of your pup, they can not treat the pup, euthenize the pup or sell the pup.]
Ernie called me back quickly there after that he had just spoken to Carolyn & she said we had to follow their contract & give them guardianship of the pup for care. He said they won't pay for vet care at our vet, because "our vet is cheaper since we have a deal with him". We couldn't come to the appt because it was their vet's policy. I told Ernie I had just talked to their's vet office & they don't have a problem with me at the appt. He said oh well that had to of been the secretary, but the vet doesn't allow it. I told him I was uncomfortable & wanted to speak to Carolyn myself. He said they had a 5 pm appt at their vet for our pup & we would have to have her to their shop early enough, that they could assess her & get her to their vet by 5pm. I told him to have Carolyn call me.
At 3:30 I tried Carolyn & was told she wouldn't be available until 5PM. I asked how was that going to work, if they had a 5PM appt that she had to be at their shop prior to? No response, just that they would have her call me. She called at 5pm, and I had missed the call, but called right back & got her voice mail. Another 20 min later she called me back. VERY HOSTILE on the phone with me. She said that in order to honor the contract we would have to sign over guardianship of the pup to them & they would get her vet care. She said she had spoken to the vet & he had changed his policies that this one time I could come to the appt. But I couldn't call the vet again, all information and updates would have to go through her from their forward. I told her I was very uncomfortable with this. She said that was all she was willing to do. She said this stuff happens all the time and that is their contract. She said their vet was reasonably priced "and gives us a deal on vet care". I told her I would get back to her if we wished to proceed that way.
At home, we had to disinfect EVERYTHING that the puppy was in contact with (with bleach & water). Including our lawn. The parvo virus has a direct transfer through feces, but can be airborne. We were unable to see out pup at our vet because we could have carried the virus out on our clothes. The virus can live in soil for up to 2 years and 6 months indoors; which means any puppies not vaccinated should steer clear of our home for that time!

Our pup stayed at our vet's office on an IV and in isolation because this virus is so contagious you can carry it out on your clothes for the rest of the week. She lost almost all of her weight from vomiting and diarrhea. On Sunday evening the vet called to tell us that she died.
Some steps you should take for the well being of these animals are the following (after vet care of course):

I then said if she had to go to their vet, that I would want to come to the appointment. He said that "Absolutely not." I couldn't come to the appt that it was against their vet's policy. I asked who their vet was. He told me Bellevue Veterinary Medical Center on 156th & Bel Red. I asked which vet did they see, he said Dr. Bruce. My research is showing this is an on-going problem. The public needs to be aware of this contagious virus and take action in saving these dogs; and work together to hold Absolutely Puppies accountable for their actions.
Purchased a pup on 5/12/07 that turned out to be sick for $522.72
Vet checkup/treatment on 5/14/07 $147.50
Vet care $816.00 (includes $58.00 fecal matter test for our other dog)
Pup died on 5/20/07
NOT MENTIONING THE CLEANING COSTS & LAWN REPLACEMENT THAT MAY BE NEEDED FROM BLEACH TREATMENTS TO DISINFECT PARVO VIRUS FROM OUR HOME!
------------------------------------------------------------------
My husband and I purchased a puppy from Absolutely Puppies in Bellevue on Saturday 5/12/07. We were given the run around about where her paperwork was located & told to come back and see Carolyn Henrie at the end of the business day; that she had the paperwork.
We were looking to purchase a black American Staffordshire Terrier that they kept telling us was about 8 weeks old. When we returned to the shop that afternoon, Carolyn was there. She kept saying Henire had the paperwork, but she couldn't reach him on the phone. (Unbeknown to us, he was the gentleman there that we had been talking to.) She said he had picked up the pups, but hadn't entered their info in the computer & she needed him to tell her where it was. Despite not having this, she said we could buy the dog with a "TBD" on the info. (see attached Sales Receipt-Contract, One Year Genetic Defect & Receipt & License) & bring her home & that they would have her paperwork ready for us the next day. It would show her date of birth & shot record. They assured us that her shots were up to date, and they had had her in their shop for the past week. (see attached ACTUAL DOB-SHOTS)
Despite feeling uneasy about this transaction, we loved the puppy and wanted to take her home. The following day they sent us a fax with her actual information as promised (see attached ACTUAL DOB-SHOTS). We were furious to learn how young the dog was. My instant concern was would she be ok? Seperated from mom at what now proved to be 4 1/2 weeks; when most standards/regulations state 7-10 weeks earliest for separation. The puppy starting exhibiting signs of lethargy (which I thought was her young age), diarrhea and vomiting (which I thought was the stress of changing environments & diet) runny nose, oozing eyes and foul smelling ears (general signs of infections). We had an appointment in the morning with our vet for a general checkup, so I didn't call Absolutely Puppies. At our vet appt on Monday morning I pointed out my concerns, the vet agreed. Our vet kept her under observation for the day & released her to us Monday evening insisting we call him the following day with a report.
The next day Tuesday we returned to our vet because her symptoms persisted. I commented that I was getting concerned that this might be more then stress and diet change. They admitted her to their vet hospital. Wednesday morning the vet called to tell us she was infected with Parvo virus. (Highly contagious, VERY serious and at such an age either from mom or another pup at AP) We then called Absolutely Puppies to inform them that the pup had been for her checkup and was very ill and contagious with Parvo virus. I was told I would have to speak to Carolyn Henrie the president of Absolutely Puppies. I read off the 4 emergency contact numbers on their contract and asked which one would reach her. I was told she was unavailable until 3/3:30 that day. Again, I asked which of the numbers would reach her. I was told which one. I said I would call back then & to please have her call me.
A little while later I received a call from Ernie (her husband who works at the shop). He told me that as per their contract, I would have to bring the dog back to them for assessment. They would assess the pup & if medical care was needed; I would have to sign over guardianship of the pup to them (not on their contract), they issue me a store credit (not on their contract) and then they take the pup to their vet (not specified on their contract) it says [TREATMENT FREE OF CHARGE UNTIL THE PUPPY IS WELL AGAIN]. I told Ernie that the dog was highly contagious, he insisted I take the dog to the shop. I told him she was on an IV at our vet & wanted to know if I could have our vet fax the lab results to their vet rather than traumatize the pup by removing the IV & taking her from Duvall to Bellevue. He told me that this happens all the time, and to honor their contract this is what I had to do or they wouldn't pay for vet care. He said that transporting the pup from Duvall to Bellevue wouldn't traumatize the pup.

This establishment probably supports puppy mills. Before going to this store read this article http://www.komotv.com/news/7640867.html and check out petfinder.com. All of those animals are rescued pets and need homes. Stop the proliferation of expliotative dog breeders and purveyors. If the owner is complicit in the selling of sick and mistreated animals she should be in jail.

as a birthday present for me my boyfriend purchased and adorable little chihuahua from absolutely puppies, he was perfect and exactly what i was looking for however he would not eat and then 2 days after we got him he started getting really sick (vomitting) and i could see his size becoming smaller. I emidiatly took him to my local vet and found out that he had parvo which is not curable (cancer for a dog) and was told that if i kept the puppy i would have to pay thousands of dollars a year for treatments to keep him alive not to mention that parvo is easily spread so i could not be around other dogs at all or let him play with other dogs (ie a dog park). I also found out that all the paperwork they gave us on the dog was incorrect for instance they said that he was 2 months older then he actually was and he was not yet old enough to leave his mother.
We had no choice but to take him back, and when i got there the place looked much different than it did while they were open (it was not buisiness hours) , there were animals running wild in the mail room, it was dirty and there was a opperating table in the front room where they worked on the animals though none of the employees were vets. They took him from me and said they would keep me posted on his condition. One week passed and i had not heard from them and when i called to check up they told me that they treated the dog and the parvo was cured (remember though that there is no cure so that was an obvious lie) and that they had let someone else adobt him. I asked if i would be getting a refund of the 1200 dollars thay was speant on the dog they refused.
We ended up getting a lawyer and thats when they had agreed to refund MOST of the money, and thats when we found out that the puppy had died but they didnt want us to know.
I felt like i had lost a child and thats not an experience that i would want anyone to go through so i would strongly encourage everyone to STAY AWAY from this place.

We purchased our little puppy at Absolutely Puppies. She is magnificent. She does have an issue with her back left knee, which may correct herself as she grows, however, she is worth it. She is absolutely a precious therapy dog for our family.

Read each review carefully, they all have pieces of exactly what happened to us after we purchased a puppy. I have been looking for a few months, visited with a few breeders. I vowed never to buy from a place like this. We found an adorable puppy (the breed we had been looking for). Based on the over all look of the puppy we bought him. He became ill within hours. The only option in order to maintain the health guarantee they give was to return the puppy and allow the staff to evaluate him. Nobody on the staff is a Vet, but assured me they have so much experience and have and will admister antibiotics of which were given to them by a Vet. They treated my dog with antibiotics, called me 1 time in 3 days to give me an update and when I went to pick him up I was not allowed to leave with him. The lady in charge was not available and I was told she would call me. My $1300.00 dog who we are already attached to was running around unsupervised. He does look much better however each and every moment of this transaction with them has been questionable at the very least. After signing a release giving the owner back "ownership" of the puppy in order for her to treat him, I explained to her that not one thing they did seems correct or feels right. I told her I was now stuck and would sign over the puppy for her to treat. But I did assure her that I would not rest until something was done about the business they are running. She stated that I was being emotional and if I wanted to find something wrong I would. I then decided to goggle them, to my utter shock and amazement I read story after story that described exactly what we just went through. DO NOT BUY A PUPPY from this place. They are all so adorable but not healthy and even though that could be true of any breed you want/buy the business practices of this place should be investigated and necessary steps should be taken to not only shut down this place but possibly look in to other charges. I am hopefully getting my puppy back today and I pray he does well, we will make sure he has a great life. Please don't buy from this place and help to get them out of business.

I went to this place a little over a year ago and saw a little chihuahua I just could not leave there. He was way over priced (reduced to $650, but I ended up paying a total of over $850) and he, even at just 4 months, was bigger than the Pekingese I already had at home. This already told me he was of very poor genetics. But, again, I just could not leave him in that place!! They wisked me through the purchase process very quickly. Once home, the puppy was very sick immediately. I took him to my vet the next morning for treatment and during the course of treatment, I called Absolutely Puppies and told them he was sick (it was something infectious) so they could treat and take precautions with the other puppies. The guy on the other end of the phone said right away," there's nothing wrong with the other puppies, I already know". Then he said, since the puppy I had was sick, I was REQUIRED to bring him back to Absolutely Puppies and THEIR VET would treat him, and then I could either choose another puppy, or take this one back when he was well. I asked him who their vet was, and he would not tell me. I told him the puppy was improving and is already under the care of a top rated Veterinarian Hospital staff and that I would keep the puppy. I simply could not fatham sacrificing that little dog back to who knows what kind of nightmare. Additionally, the shop owners told me the puppy had been microchipped and the cost was included in the purchase of the puppy. The charge was itemized in the paperwork, but there was no microchip and no microchip paperwork. When I called and inquired about that, they said they could not find paperwork for the puppy at all! About three months ago, I stopped by this shop and what I saw there was nauseating. Aside from unsupervised toddlers running around among the puppies, screaming to high heaven, in the middle of the shop was a wire pen set up with 7 little miniature dachsunds. Three of the 7 were so tiny and skinny, their little hip and shoulder bones showed through!! I did not purchase my puppy to support puppy mills, but I have a sickening suspicion, after reading these reviews and reflecting on my own experience, this place could very well be a dumping place for puppy mill puppies. It makes me sick.

I hope more people visit this web site before visiting Absolutely Puppy! I appreciate all of the feedback...two comments took me aback, however, "Anybody who even considers buying a puppy from here should NOT even consider owning a dog" and "...all I could think about in my mind is how horrible these people can be for supporting this place in their quest for abuse to animals." I highly doubt people are intentionally wanting to support animal abuse by going to Absolutely Puppy :}. This website is a great resource to warn others. Let's keep it positive and not tear people down. Thanks again for the reviews! You can contact the Better Business Bureau to report what you have seen at Absolutely Puppies and believe me, they very much appreciate the referral. My mom and I reported abuse when we had found a dead turtle in a store and they followed up on it right away. So let's be good to one another and take the right action! Have a great day.

so it was christmas and i went to absolutely puppies with my family. the day before i picked out the puppy i really wanted. so the night when my family went there were a lot of people. people picking up dogs and putting it down. one of my family members wanted a yorkie (brand new) but it wouldn't stand or get up or anything. then this lady told us about how she bought a puppy there the last week and it was just like that yorkie. quiet and wouldn't move. so she took it to the vet. and she was very sick and wouldn't live long. the woman was vey angry with the owner and went there the day we came and they wouldn't give money back. so she had to pick another puppy. she told us to get the most lively puppy. in everyone's eye the puppy i picked was very happy and jumpy. he was a maltese sold for $800 which was reasonable. he was 6 months old when we got him. his hair figure was gorgeous and was different. none like we've seen before which made us more happy about him. the owner told us it was naturally like that. one of the men working there was washing him before we took him home. me and my sister sat next to the door..we could hear him cry...why would they cry while given a bath? and when he was all dry and came out. he was shaking like crazy.. on the way home he kept throwing up...the owner told us he was perfectly healthy so we thought he was just scared (fortunately he was just scared). we took him to petco that night to buy his things. and we went to the groomer. they were shocked at how long his nails were and it was painful for him to get it cut cause it was soo long. and we got him groomed. they said the people at the store cut it all weird and bad. so he didnt naturally look like that. we gave him a puppy cut and he was still gorgeous. two days later we went to the vet and got him checked. they said he ear mites before and the place treated him totally wrong. and one of his testicles are in the wrong place. it has become so severe. that we have to put him through two surgeries and he is slowly becoming deaf and might even have a tumor for his misplaced testicle. now...he looked very healthy...but he wasnt at all. if you looked at it from his point of view and the many other dogs from there...it wouldn't be fair to you at all going through that pain. us especially not knowing what they went through and even in that store. i think they should shut down that place and have a very good examination for each pup so they can get better before it becomes more severe like mine. we love him so much. we can't give him up. what they have done to him. is unforgivable. we can hardly pay for the surgery and so we had to wait to make the money for it. soon he'll be better. but it's so depressing when he's slowly losing his hearing. when we call him he usually comes quickly...but now we have to call his name very loud when he's right next to us. and sometimes he cries because he's in pain and is always scratching his ear that if you feel carefully theres a rash. somebody has to take action! the gov. should stop this now. its not reasonable at all. they're selling poor sick puppies for their greed! their selfishness! its not fair for the puppies nor the owners!

PROS: NONE!!
CONS: everything!

Anybody who even considers buying a puppy from here should NOT even consider owning a dog. Owning dogs is a HUGE responsibility and is a lifetime of commitment. If you want a dog, do the research and consider buying from a breeder or even rescuing your puppy or an older dog from an animal shelter. I have 4 dogs, my most recent was a $350 Border Collie that is double registered, comes from titled and pedigreed parents. Now why anybody would want to pay $600+ for a puppy that they have no history on is beyond me. I went in on May 25, 2006 and I noticed a lot of people were coming into the store all I could think about in my mind is how horrible these people can be for supporting this place in their quest for abuse to animals. When I went in I noticed there were about 5 American eskimo dogs that all had Kennel cough, one little male couldn't even breathe! And the German Shepherd/Akita pups all had crusty noses and there were 6 GSD/Akita's only 2 were moving like a normal pup is supposed to, the rest were laying down inactive; not from being tired but from being sick. I picked one of the pups up and he dug his claws into my shoulder with fear, after holding him he seemed comforted but still very uneasy, I don't think this is due to being abused but more of highly ill. In a place where they have more then 10 different litters of puppies, how can they possibly keep the puppies healthy? All I know is if I buy a puppy for more than $600 it BETTER be a healthy puppy. The worst part is, when you buy these puppies you become attached and you can be stuck with multiple vet bills from a sick puppy that has Parvo, and a lot of vets are weary about treating a puppy with parvo due to how contagious it is. So many puppies in such a small area is the cruelest thing you can do to a puppy! DO NOT BUY PUPPIES FROM THIS PLACE BUYING A PUPPY FROM HERE IS ALLOWING THE ABUSE TO CONTINUE.

PROS: absolutely none! Yes the puppies are cute, but what puppy ISN'T cute
CONS: Poor conditions, no room for puppies to play, unhealthy puppies 1 BIG SCAM!

They buy their puppies from puppy mills. I bought my dog from there. She was 9 months old and they told me that she was given up by her previous owner and was placed there because the previous owner was his friend. I asked about her breeder and the owner told me that they got her from his breeder somewhere in Idaho. They wouldn't tell me!!! Anyways, my dog looked like the best pet ever, so I decided to buy her. The next day, I noticed her having watery diarrhea, and on the third day, my dog couldn't control it anymore. I finally went to the vet and he told me that the dog has lung worms and something else that screw her stomach up. I was very upset with the service from Absolutely Puppies. I went back there to file a complaint about this and noticed that ALL of the puppies there has WATERY DIARRHEA. Please think about it first before you buy puppies from this store.

PROS: cute puppies, pretty well socialized
CONS: Almost everything in this pet store is concerning

We bought a mix breed puppy from here. I am very, very happy with her. She has always been healthy. But they weren't very clear on what they do with the puppies that they don't sell, and I don't understand what kind of people they're getting them from because breeders who care about their puppies want to find them homes themselves, not ship them off to a store.
Also, Absolutely Puppies doesn't screen buyers to make sure the puppies are going to good homes. I think they take good care of the puppies that are in their care but they sell them to first come first serve, no questions asked. Over priced. I don't regret buying my dog from there, but I wouldn't do it again. Overall, I think their puppies are healthy, though. I just don't trust where they come from and where they go when they don't sell. I don't like that they don't seem to care who they sell them to. But I won't lie, I go there often just to play with the puppies! And the store workers and owners are nice people!

PROS: The puppies come very well socialized because of all the petting they get!
CONS: You're most likely supporting a puppy mill by buying from them

While I would never recommed getting a puppy from a pet store I have to say I have had several friends that bought a puppy from this store and felt cheated. No birtdates, no papers, dog not the breed mix as represented. My most recent client bought a poodle, the puppy is very sick, has phenemonia and store will not pay for vet bill. People get emotionally attached and won't give the puppy back. One client got a golden retriever puppy and at age 10 months had to have surgery on both hips.

PROS: None that I can think of
CONS: The price you pay for getting a puppy here is often more than you bargained

My husband and I got our first Beagle from Absolutely Puppies. They were unable to provide us with his papers and gave us two different birth dates for him so to this day we don't know when his birthday is. They assured us they would mail us his papers but even after repeated phone requests they never did. On the day we got our puppy, the staff member had us and 3 other couples with their puppies cram into the office and everything was rushed and confused with the collection of cheques and credit cards the top priority. We both feel that they charge too much for their pups and once we stopped by there and saw an older Beagle puppy with overgrown dew claws who looked pitiful and lonely stuck in a box with tiny lap dogs. We offered to buy him but for less than the $600 they were asking (we just didn't have that to spend then) and were told no way - we asked what would happen if no one bought him and were told he would be returned to the breeder - (yikes). Also we were contacted by someone who somehow knew we had bought our dog there and who told us they were a bad outfit with a less than stellar reputation. She also said there were numberous reports of sick and fatally ill puppies and neglect also. We can't personally testify to that but it wouldn't be the biggest surprise to us if it turned out to be true. We love our dog but we wouldn't go back there and wouldn't recommend them. They're all about the money !!!!!

PROS: Ummmmm .....The puppies are cute?
CONS: Unprofessional - Money Oriented - Mall Puppies Environment

The people were great to work with, had detailed documentation and had a great price. A good Westie is hard to find and they were great communicating when they thought they would have them and then working with me when they did. I loved our little guy so much a friend bought his brother! These puppies are NOT scared as a previous commenter said, rather are very friendly!! Give the place a try for yourself - I think you'll love it! :)

PROS: friendly, detailed, good variety, healthy

I'm very pleased with the dog I bought from Absolutely Puppy. He is 14 months old and has had excellent check-ups from the Vet. He is very intelligent and really the best breed dog I've own.

Really, if I'm going to believe their dogs come from ill-bred puppy mills, I will need more proof then what was provided from the previous negative comments.

This place is horrible. I didn't know what a puppy mill was until I went to Absolutely Puppy. All that they are concerned with are profits, not puppies. They don't really seem to care about the wellbeing of the dogs, and from the looks of the animals, they seem to be really scared, as if they were abused. Please support puppy welfare by not going here.

Why anyone would want to pay these prices for poorly bred puppies is a mystery to me. What sort of person would breed a litter and send it off to some mystery store to sell for them? Not the kind I would want a pup from. We all know that purebreds suffer from genetic problems if not bred correctly. These puppies have no genetic testing, aren't of great breeding stock, don't look that healthy and are the same prices as you can get a puppy from a breeder who shows and health tests!!! I don't understand how they can be in business - impatience I guess? After all, you have to wait with a breeder whereas here you can pick up any puppy during business hours.

PROS: Nothing at all
CONS:
