Pros: Ambience, Comedy, Good People

Cons: They are only open 4 nights a week

This is a hilarious comedy club located right next to the Pike Place Market. It's a lot like "Whose Line Is it Anyway" with a great staff. You're guarunteed to laugh and I would recommend reserving your tickets.

Pros: Inexpensive, Atmosphere, Good Clean FUN!

Unexpected productions plays their improve shows out of the Post Alley Theater behind Pike Place Market. They create two teams that compete in theater sports in front of a panel of judges with suggestions from the audience. This show never gets old! The actors are truly talented and they always manage to make the audience suggestions hilarious. I have never left disappointed. The only downside is that parking can be difficult in this part of town at this hour of the night. Try to find a spot on 1st avenue if possible. Post Alley is quite literally an alley so be prepared for a bit of a walk no matter where you park.

If you're looking for a different kind of entertainment, try an Unexpected Productions Improv show. Not a movie, not a typical theater production, it's an audience participation show where audience members are encouraged to shout out suggestions that the cast members use to improvise short comedy skits. Every time you go, it's a different show. They have Theatre Sports shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Try to reserve your tickets in advance; if you just show up the night of the show they may already be sold out!

I love all of the shows at Unexpected Productions! I have been a fan for many of their weekly Theatre Sports Shows on Friday and Saturday nights at 10:30PM. The group of improv players changes every week with a few regulars spliced in between. The games are always entertaining and fun. Of course, audience participation is key to this show and regular suggestions and ideas are taken from audience goers between scenes. The panely of improv judges always pretty serious and make for challenging judges. I wouldn't ever want them judging me! It's a great show to take you friends, family, and teenage kids. On top of that it's only 10 bucks and makes for a great evening out after dinner in Seattle. Check out their website to see some of their other shows that they produce at the Post Alley Theatre.

PROS: Great group of improv artists, cost efficient entertainment, fun environment, and the show is never the same each time that you go.
CONS: The theatre location is located in Post Alley which can be hard to find when you're looking for it the first time. You have to find street parking and walk into the alley. Get there early if you don't want to take the risk of a sell out show...it does happen often.
