This is a metaphysical bookstore which caters to those more open minded among us. I can't quite imagine my little Catholic mother visiting because she'd pronouce the place devilish. I found the atmosphere relaxed and inviting. The shelves were a bit close together and difficult to navigate, but the selection was more than adequate and much better than Borders or B&N.

East West Books is perhaps one of the
last good metaphysical book stores
in Seattle. They used to have classes
there as well but haven't seen them
advertised for a while. Great Store.

East West Books is one the best sites to
find metaphysical books. They have a
good selection of used books as well.
The store is peaceful and serene and
they also feature some other collectable
items from stones to fountains.

If there is some aspect of spirituality, the occult, religion, self-help, metaphysics, or anything else of that nature that you want a book on, this is the place. Huge selection! Along with books, they have lots of music, and a large rental video selection. They have many events and speakers at the store. They also sell lots of gifts, cards, art and knick-knacks (jewelry, crystals, yoga supplies, incense, etc). I really like this place, don't get me wrong, I just always find I get my fill of woo-woo within about 10 minutes in there. But then again, I am a cynical NYer.
