I went with my mother and we decorated a lot of ceramics for Christmas gifts. It was a laid back environment and they let us use as much time as we wanted for only $8 (plus the price of whatever piece you pick out). They also have a pretty good selection of ceramics. AND, For a little bit more money you can even take the paints home. Word to the wise, though, it takes several days for the cermaics to actually be 'fired' and ready, so don't plan on this for a last minute gift.
