GEM Salon is owned by seasoned hair stylist Eric Berger and his wife, Meg Van Deusen. Our salon comprises 25 of the Eastside and Seattle's most talented and experienced hair stylists and a makeup artist whose history includes makeup services for television, photo shoots, weddings and more. Our front desk staff is friendly and efficient, and we pride ourselves on providing high-end service in an elegant, hip, yet unpretentious environment. We believe that our hair salon, like a GEM, is truly a find. From the front door to the dressing room to the shampoo bowl to the chair, GEM Salon's clients will feel related to, cared for and pampered. We are fashion forward and will always advise our clients which of the latest styles cater to their individual personality and style without overlooking their needs and desires. We will validate 90 minutes of parking in the on-site parking lots.

I'm happy to have found Arpad again. He is an Awesome hair stylist and is currently at Gem Salon in Kirkland. I have missed his haircuts he definitely is the BEST. Beautiful location Carillon Point. Very easy to find.

Arpad Kadarkay is back and doing hair at GEM. I have been with Arpad for a long time starting at SEVEN salon. He's back from LA and working at GEM. He is the best and works with every hair type. I get my color, cut and deep conditioning from him and am so happy. The GEM salon is very friendly and conveniently located off 520 in Carillon Point, Kirkland.

Nice Salon, Front Desk needs work

This is a pretty nice place to get your hair done. Great products, great stylists. Beautiful location. But for a salon that prides themselves so much on having a friendly and efficient front desk (it's on their website), there is no consistency. Some girls are very friendly and helpful, and other girls are unefficient and not friendly. Just be aware when you call.

Lisa Boehm at GEM is amazing

I've been going to Lisa for years, as in about 10 years, because she gives such a great cut. When I started with her I wasn't coloring my hair. And now that I'm covering gray, I find out she's really a pro at color also. I have copper-colored hair that is really hard to match and after several difference formulas she got it. I tell her she can never get run over by a bus, because no one does it better.

Best Eastside Hair Salon

I have been getting my hair therapy at Gem for several years. I love it there. Everything from the gorgeous location at Carillon Point, to the friendly and efficient front desk staff, to my expert and compassionate stylists. I have seen several stylists there and have always been well cared for and satisfied! The salon is clean and modern. I look forward to seeing the ever changing art display.

It has taken me years and many different salons and stylists to find someone as wonderful as Cori. She listened to my ideas and concerns and worked wonders! She spent over an hour with me making sure that I was completely satisfied with the results. I will search no longer for the perfect stylist, thanks Cori!!

Worst Salon Experience Ever...Stay Away From Kori

I wanted to find a new stylist, so I read many reviews and ultimately decided to try Kori at Gem Salon. I was her first of the day and the salon called my cell 10 minutes before my appointment to let me know she wasn't going to be to work on time. I rescheduled for later that day. I brought a girlfriend along since I had already made plans. Kori and my girlfriend butted heads immediately over the use of an unattended comb. It was really stupid and I found the display of cattiness on both their parts laughable. My girlfriend decided to wait outside. A few minutes later the fire alarm goes off and I have to wait outside with wet hair for 20 minutes. Now I'm a frizz ball and Kori is late for her next appointment so I leave the salon with damp frizzy hair. I even tipped her well and bought a couple hundred dollars worth of product she recommended. I must admit that after all of that the haircut was good. Upon reviewing my credit card statement I noticed the salon charged me for two haircuts that day. They did ultimately reimburse me. Fast forward. I decided to give the salon another chance and went to see Dawn for color followed by Kori for a cut. Dawn was running about 40 minutes late which was not a problem for me as I had no agenda. It was a rush job and not quite the right color. She let Kori know that I was ready. Kori let me wait about 15 minutes before telling me that she would be another hour. She suggested I leave the salon (with wet hair) and come back. I preferred to wait. This bothered her and she told me it would be better for me to leave and come back. It make no sense as I preferred to wait. Another 20 minutes pass and Kori comes to me again and tells me that she didn't have a good experience with my friend the first time and she has decided not to do my hair. I left the salon with an apology from the manager. This is by far the worst beauty experience I have ever had and would definitely NOT recommend this salon.

Excellent hair color

I love this salon. I've tried lots of different color specialists in the area and I've found the best. Linda does amazing blond highlights and Rochele is terrific with reds and warm blond highlights. I highly recommend this salon. It is a fun atmoshphere and the ladies at the front desk are very friendly. Best of all you walk out with spectacular hair.
