Do not believe the "We stand behind our products and services". I bought two filters, followed guidelines, and neither worked. When I went to the store, they "couldn't find the purchase", and had all sorts of questions to try to avoid

Probably like many folks planning on putting in a koi pond, I had picked out some pretty low cost fixtures from various online sources. \r

We manufacture the highest quality equipment and well known for outstanding ongoing support and service. We gave a proposal to this customer including proprietary equipment and labor. After design revisions he wanted labor only, and purchased lesser quality competing equipment elsewhere. Not all pond equipment is created equal. If we can't guarantee it, we won't install it to ensure the highest quality service, and value. P Russell

Made a verbal deal to do job at my house to build pond, then they backed out after learning I'd bought the hardware equipment already.

i made plans for them to do job for months, but they don't care and reniged after quoting the job out, and i've made plans to consruct , then when they learned they couldn't sell their equipment to me they grew quicky very very cold and swiftly bailed out on me, without disclosing that fact to me beforehand when giving me the job quote to begin with.

I'm glad i didn't go with them now.

They are greedy and watch your Ass

John Russell is truly "The Watergarden Guy"! We first met John and Pam at a "Build-A-Pond-Day" class in 2003, before their move to Redmond. The instructions and demonstration were very clear (the class did actually build a demonstration pond on site that day!) but we knew our time limitations and decided to have them build one for us after all. That was just the beginning...John came out and looked at our existing landscape, listened to our ideas and budget constraints, and then offered a design that we loved.

The work was done so artistically, quickly and efficiently that I wouldn't have believed it had I not been home to watch! It blended into our woodland garden in a way that made it look like it had been there for years! We loved it, as did everyone who came to visit! All that summer and through the years following, Russell Watergardens has been our go-to resource for all things related to the watergarden - plants, fish, maintenance, and upgrades as John developed new and more efficient and bio-friendly filtering systems.

Landscapes are ever evolving, though, and changes to our backyard environment in recent years (e.g., trees removed, house next door no longer screened) necessitated some renovation that left the pond in a very discouraging state. All but the goldfish were gone, there were leaks in the stream that required we turn off the pump so as not to waste water, and the pond was so murky and filled with silt that you couldn't even see the rocks on the bottom. Ugh!!

As has always been true over the years, a call to Russell Watergardens this winter brought a quick response and several possibilities for resolving our concerns. Once scheduled, the work we needed was done quickly and efficiently and thoroughly cleaned up in less time than I ever imagined. We can now enjoy the melody of falling water in our backyard again and the pond is so clear, it looks new! I can hardly wait until it warms up and we can head back to Russell Watergardens for some koi to grace the pond once again.

My late husband backhoed a good-sized pond in our back yard. The shape and size were fine, but over the years the filtering and the waterfall aeration were inadequate. It was no longer attractive, the water quality was disgusting, and I felt sorry for the goldfish. My regular landscaping service does not do water features, and when I asked them for a referral, they suggested this place, which was fairly new, at the time. I went out to look at their extensive display gardens, which feature streams and fountains as well as ponds, and was very impressed.

They sent someone out to look things over, and then made recommendations (at a couple of price points) for what I could do to make things more attractive. They were wonderful at working with me till I understood the reasons for various parts of the setup, and at helping me to understand what features would allow me to accomplish needed maintenance most easily.

When the work was finished (amazingly quickly, from start to end), my expectations were exceeded. They even relocated my goldfish temporarily to a child's wading pool, till the pond was ready to welcome them back. They also did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. The pond now looks gorgeous, and I have received many compliments.

In the two years since then, I have needed their support a couple of times (including once when the fault was with my electrical service and nothing to do with the pond equipment they installed) and have found them to be very helpful and quick to respond.

They also do an annual garden tour of homes where they have installed water features--entirely at the homeowner's option.

I have not shopped around and cannot really comment as to whether they are a great "buy", but I consider them to be tops in value. Their combination of aesthetic vision and technical expertise is hard to put a pricetag on.

PROS: Pros at water features, with an eye for beauty and patience to explain
CONS: None

This is a great family-owned business that sells supplies (plants, pumps, materials, etc.) for your water garden. They started out small but now they have customers clear across the state. They provide an excellent selection and a big plot of land so you can view their elaborate demonstration gardens. The store is easily accessible because it is located right on Redmond-Fall City Road.
