I found the church overall to be a bit self absorbed. There seemed to be a lack of humility and gossip seemed to be the norm, especially among the leadership. Much of the focus is on personal experience and us not an environment for lasting growth. As for biblical teaching, as a biblical scholar who has trained at two seminaries I found the sermons to lack any exegetical foundation, it was surface level at best. No church is perfect, but I would suggest this church work on its internal problems and leadership before looking to expand itself. An unhealthy church will only produce unhealthy Christians.

Wish I could meet and talk to Paul O. and Janelle H. Have found some of the same problems with Grace Church and Pastor Jon McIntosh. A Church full of gossip and a Pastor that needs to grow up.
Be careful if you attend, lots of promises (like for Paul O.) but little reality and stability. So many have left over the years...because they could not connect with the Pastor...who seems to have some real problems with relational skills.

My wife started going to Grace after becoming friends with the minister and his wife Jon and Wendy. Grace is a "worship" church using music as a way to build emotion to feel closer to God. If you like rocking out to God you may like this church on the surface. If you're like me and prefer contemplation and prayer as your way to God, Grace is definately not for you.

My main concern with Grace though is with Jon. After knowing him on a personal and business relationship I can comfortably say he falls short on the ideals I expect from a minister.

Every week during his sermon he says to email him or call him if you have questions or concerns. One week I had a strong urge to speak with a man that I had spoken with at church. I felt God wanted me to speak with him about my brother who had passed away from a drug overdose. As with many urgings that God gives us I wasnt sure why I needed to speak with him. At church that next week I looked for the man but he wasnt there. At the end of church Jon told the congregation the man had died during the past week. I emailed Jon that week a pationate email about the urging I had to speak with the man that had passed away during that prior week. I got no responce.

After asking others at church if this was common behavior I found that it was. Most made excuses for him but conceeded it was a problem. That in and of itself I would look over but I dealt with Jon at my work as well. He rarely made eye contact with me, always seemed distracted, was constantly texting people and would avoid spiritual questions I tried to raise. Jon to me seems like a materialistic frat boy always concerned about having the newest technolgy. I believe his own personal ambitions get in the way of being the humble servant Jesus came to show how to be.

Grace does do alot for the community which is wonderful. Jon grew up as a ministers son and knows how to put on a front which many accept. To me though I need my spiritual mentor to be genuine, honest, humble and spiritual. Grace does have some genuine ministers but their leader falls short. I think Grace does have alot of potential they just need to elect a new leader.

As a first time visitor, I thought that the worship music was wonderful! Friendly family of God! The message was right on.
From my point of view, they are not a bunch of pew sitters, this is an active, community oriented church. Looking forward to visiting again.

If found the 'sour grapes' reviews quite contrary to my extensive experiences with Grace Church. For the last 14 of my 51 years of walking with Jesus I've been a member of Grace Church. This is the church I have longed for all my life! Can I share a peek into Grace's life with you?

Our pastor is not just a great teacher, but transparent about his own struggles in life. I would say his commitment is to obedience to Jesus as he listens to the direction of the Holy Spirit. He is adamant about holding to the truth of the Bible.

Our worship is passionate as the staff and the congregation give ourselves to honoring our Lord and thanking Him for who He is and what He's done. And as we do so it isn't a surprise that He shows up for He inhabits the praises of His people!

Our services are always conducted in decency and in order with our primary goals being loving God and loving people so they may come to experience His love. Having had times of brokenness and needing healing myself, I can attest to the care and healing--with great sensitivity!--provided by the people at this church.

This grandma has learned something quite profound as I have aged: In ordinary, non-Hollywood, life those perceived as "popular" are often simply those who apply themselves to the tasks at hand and get involved in the work of the Lord. The more involved you are, the more you are visible, the more you interact with more people, the more you are perceived by uninvolved onlookers as "popular"...when in fact you've simply responded often to needs and therefore others often see you in the act of getting a particular job done. There's work for everyone in God's kingdom and quite often that work puts you in a position to be seen frequently by others. Some people accept that responsibility a lot and are seen--a lot. Others sit back and let someone else do the work, then incorrectly view the 'seen a lot' person as popular. Such 'vision problems' usually occur when our own perception of ourself needs correction and when we need to put our own hands to the plow and help with the work.

This church doesn't care what you look like on the outside, but the consistent Biblical teaching will challenge you to become more like Jesus on the inside. It is with a thankful heart that I am thrilled that 14 years ago this month God directed us to visit Grace, and 13 years ago He told us "This is where you are planted." It has been my joy to labor alongside the dear people here as we grow together and share Jesus with others. There is room for you here, too. Won't you come worship with us and join us as we share Jesus with our community?

The church is a great place to meet new people. Grace is a type of popularity contest and there is very much gossip passed around through the pastoral staff. It is now pastored by the son of the original pastor, Mike McIntosh. Definitely geared towards a younger crowd and tends to be more concerned with image and being "outside the box" than focusing on spiritual growth. I would not recommend this church if you are anything less than an ideal Christian. If you are feeling broken or are needing guidance in strengthening your relationship with God this would not be the church for you.

Not such a good place to network business, show off
expensive outfits or even get involved in community
enhancing programs.
If however your one of the few who wish to be in the presence of God and others who worship Him in
spirit and truth this is the place for you. If you're looking for love and unconditional acceptance you won't be disappointed. Great place for youth!

If you're not from a charismatic background, I wouldn't go to this church. They're known in the area as the charismatic church for their "slaying in the spirit" and other rituals. If this is your thing, Grace is the church for you, but be prepared for some new stuff if you go. There are lots of options for churches in Federal Way, so choose your church carefully.
