I just went in today for a consultation and since it was my first time I needed to fill out some papers and I needed to give me insurance card. After filling out some papers I remembered that I had a secondary insurance which I had to report so I took it out and gave it to the receptionist who started criticizing me for forgetting about it. She rolled her eyes and started gossiping about my human mistake with the other receptionist. (She said: can you believe it?? NOW he is telling me that he has a secondary insurance, the other one replied: I know - in a matter of fact way)...

In the other hand the doctor who attended me was very nice. I feel that her receptionists are damaging her reputation.

I had seen the negative reviews prior to my first visit, and almost canceled my appointment!

I was pleased to discover that the staff (both front desk and medical) were freindly, knowledgable, and efficient.

I enjoyed meeting Dr. Likosky, and she was very pleasant and explained the procedure clearly to both me and my accompanying 8 year old. Easy in, easy out.

I would highly recommend this practice to you.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about but I have never had a problem with the front desk (and frankly, if the doctors are great I couldn't care less about how polite the front desk is). Dr. Ashworth is fantastic. She treats me with respect. She is kind and considerate. And she apparently has always diagnosed me correctly as the treatments she has prescribed have always worked wonderfully. I highly recommend her. I can't speak for the other doctors as I have never seen them but she is awesome. You know, some people are never satisfied. I can't for the life of me believe I could ever have an experience there as bad as some of these people have described. I will say it is sometimes hard to get in there but they have ALWAYS gotten me in if it's a problem that needs immediate attention.

I've been reading this site for awhile and have been visiting Dr. Ormsby at Kirkland Dermatology for five years. After Dr. Likosky was on maternity leave, I was automatically transferred to Ormsby, and she was not too helpful. For treatment of my acne, she kept on suggesting treatments that I had already been prescribed by Likosky that didn't work. Not only was the quality of the doctor-patient relationship very minimal (no small talk, not too friendly) but it appeared that there was no conversation between the doctors themselves to confer about my treatment regimen. There's usually a long wait (15 minutes or so, plus trying to find parking at Evergreen) and then another 5 minute or so wait once inside the treatment room.
This usually didn't bother me, until I just had to speak with the front desk staff about refilling a prescription after making an appointment. After I was immediately put on hold for a couple minutes, the receptionist was downright rude, blaming the pharmacy for everything and not trying to understand my situation and work with me. She sounded exasperated and as if she had much better things to do than talk to me. I have never been spoken to so disrespectfully as a patient before.
Needless to say, I just canceled my appointment and five-year relationship with Kirkland Dermatology after their inattention to respect, understanding, and quality of patient care. While the bottom line is quality of medicine (which is decent), Dr. Ormsby is nothing special and I would much rather be treated kindly and quickly at another clinic.

Pros: consistent

Cons: front desk staff!

I have to agree with the previous review, their front desk help can be terrible and certainly inconsistant. They have one lady that sets up appointments when you're leaving, and she's nice enough. But the girl at the front desk reminds me of a hostess at a high end restaurant whom you just interupted on a personal call :). Which really stinks, since thats the first person you see when you walk through the door.

Now, Dr. Ashworth is just incredible. I weather her inconsistant front desk staff just to see her for my dermatology concerns. She's not only informative but will offer you many options. At the end of the day, you go there for great health care, not warm fuzzies from the receptionist :). Just rest assured that the receptionist will be dipping fries soon enough as they seem to go through receptionists every 6 months/year.

Dr. Ashworth is an excellent doctor. But the staff at this place is inconsistent. I have had terrible experiences with their nursing station and the front office reception can be snobby and unwelcoming. It is unfortunate that some of their nursing staff are not only unhelpful but antagonistic when you are paying top dollar for treatment. Excellent medical care should include excellent customer service. In a business where you have other options, I strongly suggest that you go elsewhere.

Our family has had a very positive experience with Dr. Ashworth as well as her staff. We have seen her on separate occasions and found Dr. Ashworth to be attentive and thorough. Her office checked with me after a week to see if the treatment prescribed was working and then called again after conferring with the doctor to give further instructions.

I went to Dr. Ashworth on the advice from my general practioner. I needed help for a keyloid mole, and happened to mention warts that had been plaguing me for years. Turns out, I did not have warts but another condition all together -- another dermatologist had misdiagnosed me and put me through painful freezing treatments for nothing. I found Dr. Ashworth professional and kind, and am definitely going back.

I had a horrible experience at this clinic. Instead of the female doctor I was to see an ancient man wandered in, took off my robe to examine me and opened the door as I stood there for 2 minutes for the world to see me in all my glory. He then removed a "suspicious looking mole" without as much as telling me why or what would happen next. I was told to keep antibiotic ointment on the wound and ushered out the door, but not before the nurse opened the door and left it open for a couple more minutes. I will not be returning.

Bad experiences here. I do not recommend it. Everyone can make their own opinion but with my personal experience and what happened to me I would not recommend anyone to go to Kirkland Dermatology.

My sister has roseacea and this is her doctor. Sis has very sensitive skin and is prone to flare ups and she worries alot about her appearance. I know that this dermatology office has helped her find the right combination of medicine and products to help control her bothersome skin condition. My sister seems much more confident about her appearance since she has followed the program outlined by the dermatologist here.
