Chip is the owner, brewer, chief chemist, bottle washer, and deal doer. He's a one man show that produces some very respectable beers. With very little marketing and absolutely minimal bells and whistles, Chip consistently produces a really nice 'back room' brew. You can taste anything he has on tap from 4-6pm on W, Th, and Fri in his brew/tasting room for 3 bucks a pint. Bring your own container (with volume measurements on it) and he will fill 'er up for 14 bucks a gallon. In some ways it's what you would expect in Colville, WA (low stress, down-to-earth experience); but in other ways it's not at all what you would expect (great micro brews!).

It's so interesting to come to this place and have them show you around where they make the beer. The owner is so friendly, and he is a wealth of information about brewing your own beer. They have a few different varieties that they brew - some are really dark and others have other interesting flavors, like one brewed with rye.

Colville again has a microbrewery in town (after Hales Ales got started here and eventually moved to the Seattle area) - and it's very good. You can stop by during certain hours in the afternoon (I think on Thursdays and Fridays) and get a little tour of the place. Their beer is very good and can be bought in mini-kegs, or you can drink it on tap a couple places around town like Cafe al Mundo too.
