I don't know what has happened over the past years, but my paper hasn't been late in a while. I really like the layout of the paper and the coverage of local schools.

the Columbian serves Vancouver Washington, and has a fairly limited circulation. It treats local issues thoroughly, but is somewhat lacking when it comes to national and international news, offering basically whatever comes out on the Wires (e.g. AP, Reuters)

The Sunday Columbian is not particularly large, especially when compared with its neighbor across the river, the Oregonian, which features a mammoth Sunday issue. While useful for residents of Vancouver, the Columbian is not well suited for other subscribers.

PROS: treatment of local issues
CONS: no particularly comprehensive

We've had a subscription for about 2 months now, and while the content of the newspaper is satisfactory, we've had nothing but trouble getting our paper! It's been hit and miss, some days late, and some days no delivery at all. The Circulation department always made sure we recieved our newspaper, but having to call every couple days is very frustrating.

PROS: Good coverage of Local issues
CONS: Inconsistent delivery.

I like the Sunday Columbian newspaper for the ads and the business section for the classifieds. I used to read the Columbian a lot more when it used to be delivered in the afternoons by paper girls and paper boys. I think it's lost a lot of subscribers because of the conversion.

PROS:
CONS: It no longer supports the paper boy and girl concept in delivery.

The Columbian has held a place in the hearts of most Southwest Washington residents for a long time. Not because it's a great paper. The reporting is mediocre and their commitment to local SW Washington issues only serves to diminish
