Beware!
Do not sign a lease for longer than you are absolutely sure that you will be needing your residence. If you have any kind of an emergency and need to vacate, you will be required to pay rent, electricity, and fees until your lease is complete. If they threaten that they will begin showing your unit immediately if you don??t agree to sign a longer lease, DON??T FALL FOR IT.

You must go through Helene??s to sublease. One of our referrals gave up his $100 holding fee when he realized that this was not a company that he wanted to do business with. We felt terrible and stopped posting the apartment.

We were able to give three months written notice, and they were unable to find a new tenant during that time. They have now had eight months to find a tenant without success. We continue to pay for and heat an empty apartment that we can not even lend out. They have rented other units in this complex but not ours. They have us with the lease which thankfully is almost up..

Please read the rental agreement carefully before you sign. It is very restrictive.

Unprofessional, manipulative, dishonest, defensive and argumentative. Their lack of customer service or concern for their reputation is appalling! The first comment on their voice mail is ??If you are locked out of your unit . . . CALL A LOCKSMITH!!? That should give a clear idea from the start as to their level of concern for their tenants and the caliber of property management they provide. While this was not one of my issues, getting a straight answer out of anyone in that office is impossible. I have had 6 contacts with them and every one has been a rude encounter. Their lack of manners and professionalism is embarrassing. Don??t make the same mistake we did by signing a contract with them. Yes, we really, really wanted the property but had we known the grief, lying and deceit we would be subject to, we would have backed out of the contract. I actually tried, but was told it was too late since one room mate had already paid a portion of the deposit. It is safe to assume that efforts on our part to maintain a level of decorum will not aid us when the time comes to get our deposit back next year. Their standard excuse is ??We are such a terribly busy office ?? (They do manage more than just us!) so that is supposed to excuse their unprofessional behavior. IF you can actually reach someone, they all finger point to someone else in their office to blame. They are unaccountable and rude and Helene is a ghost as it is impossible to speak directly with her. The details of our experience with them are multi layered and infuriating. The bottom line is that they are unaccommodating on every point. No exceptions and no accountability (or apologies) for errors on their part. Not only do I marvel that they are still in business but I am stunned that they are ALLOWED to be in business with such unethical practices. AVOID this black widow??s nest at all costs!!!
