Okay heres the thing I rarely write reviews, but this review is being presented so as to spare any future potential patrons the pathetic experience that we had. **SPARE YOURSELF THE NIGHTMARE!!** Read on:

1.) The server finally showed up after 10+ minutes of sitting there. This was not a deal-breaker because it was actually a *first date* which gave us time to talk, but a beer or glass of wine to ease that process a tad earlier would have been really nice!
2.) When the server finally did show up, he described the specials etc and took our orders for drinks. The thing is in the 3-5 minutes that he stood there, he only glanced and made eye contact with my (female) date once. It was so bad (and what I felt was so disrespectful) that I actually noticed!!
3.) When the food finally came, it had a nice presentation but this salmon special was so bland!!! Little Caesars pizza sauce has more zest to it!! Granted it was a pesto sauce, but it was still so bland!!!
4.) The bathroom you have to navigate past a chair placed in a doorway at the back of the restaurant (that Im assuming is placed there to deter other people from entering the restaurant from this communal hallway?). As you walk approximately 60 feet to a barely descript bathroom sign, you realize that there is a keypad to get in! Thankfully the key code is taped on a piece of paper above the keypad. Doesn't this negate the whole secured bathroom ideology? Good thing that I wasn't in too much of a panic to evacuate some of the beer I consumed!! The walk of shame to find the bathroom door, the oh no theres a keypad it could have gotten ugly quick!!
4.) Trying to get refills on our beer and wine required holding the glass up *high* in the air hoping that somebody would see, thankfully they did after a minute or so, I was afraid my arm would get tired!!
5.) The bill after waiting for what seemed like an eternity; I actually went to hand it to the bus boy as he walked by. It was bizarre our waiter appeared from nowhere to magically swoop by and grab my card from my outstretched hand. And no, we didn't wait for the bill to come first. And no, when he came back with the credit card slip, we did not receive the part that shows what we purchased, only the final dollar amount owed. This killed me, hopefully there wasn't a tip already included in the bill. I didn't complain because I just wanted the nightmare to end and didn't want to appear cheap in front of my (first) date. I begrudgingly tipped 10% (which killed me because I ALWAYS tip 20%) but I needed to send a message to the server and staff.

You may be thinking, Wow, it must have been packed in there NOPE, only a handful of tables were taken while we enjoyed/endured this "fine dining experience".

Yes, we have a second date planned. Thankfully shell be choosing the next restaurant!! The only bright thing of the evening was her smile and conversation, and the guy playing the accordion next to the tables.

Horrible service and food!!

Great little Belltown find?the house made pasta reminds me of some of the pasta I tasted while traveling in Italy, where it was cooked to perfect ??al dente?? and had enough flavor of it??s own that you could eat it without sauce. The fresh ingredients and the robust flavor at La Vita e Bella, without all the Americanized heaviness of overdone sauces is reminiscent of meals I experienced in Florence, Venice and Rome.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a hint of elegance. The prices are surprisingly reasonable and the service was friendly and personal (welcomed at our table personally by the Chef). Dinner for two, appetizer and a glass of wine totaled $55.

I love it here. You get corporate consistency from store to store without the corporate influences. Its a very laid back place with excellent baristas who actually have a personality instead of just a half smile and a green apron.

The smells when you walk into this wonderful neighborhood gem tell you without question you've found an excellent Italian restaurant. It's classy and intimate, and they often bring in live music (like one guy playing guitar). The prices are always more reasonable than I expect, which helps but this place at the top of my list to take company.

This is a fabulous neighborhood restaurant with good eats. I particularly like their selection of pizza. Great ambiance both inside and outside. They offer good wine parings, the prices are very reasonable and the staff superb. Very recommendable.

This is an excellent Italian restaurant full of great flavors from their meats, cheeses, and rustic breads. The Margherita pizza is fantastic and if you're looking for something light, the antipasi caprese is delicious!
