I love Being a Blossom in Gods Rose Garden

by Wendy R.

It amazes me that there are so many anonymous contributors responding with such negativity, yet leaving the thought that they are walking the walk, talking the talk as Jesus would. Its not necessarily about what Jesus would do, but what He has already done. It's obvious that eyes and hearts are not looking to the cross or this kind of speech would not be spewing from ones mouth. It's a heart attitude, between you and God. Living Grace is like a freshly maintained rose garden, God has plucked the thrones from the rose bushes so the new blossoms can bloom and flourish. That's just what's happening, Gods garden is growing in beauty with love. I for one pray that hearts will be softened and lives restored to Him. If you haven't yet found a garden to grow in, find it soon, Just remember, it may be the most beautiful garden on earth, but when you plant yourself in it, it too will need weeding- as no one bloom makes the plant a whole.. I send you Love in Our Lord and Savior

Living Grace Ministries is Where I Choose to Be

by Lee H.

I feel really sorry for the poor souls who have taken time to write such horrible stories about Living Grace Ministries and Pastor Tom Powell. I don't like to be rude, but "GET A LIFE". We are not all meant to attend the same church and in fact, we really don't have to attend church at all. That is a choice we make. We can have our relationship with our Lord and Savior anywhere. A church family is wonderful, though, and very supportive in your hour of need, God forbid you might have one. I have attended many churches in my walk, and this is the very first that I actually feel "fed" in and not "put upon". Granted, I have not attended a long time, but I believe the Holy Spirit led me there and He also led YOU away. Take the guidance and make good use of your time. Maligning others on a website is not letting your "light" shine and certainly does nothing but maybe let you feel better for having vented. Remember Jesus' words to love others as He loves us. Your tantrums are not an example of that. May God bless you and show you the error of your ways. Pastor has forgiven you, now go forward and live your life and leave him to live his.

Cathy

by Cathy K.

Bravo, bravo, bravo, after years since the mass exodus from your very elite tiny group someone is still trying to determine why these people left. If after all the documented personal acounts of the reasons you still believe in your heart it was because of human personality conflicts, then your brainwashed idiotic ideas are showing. The proof is definately in the pudding, if the stench of the dead fish is sprinkled with talcum powder now, it'll show it's roaring head again. Maybe you can waste a few more years waiting for it to happen! Or you can listen to the very strong nudge from the Holy Spirit to seek his truth in respectible christian groups.

Hypocricy

by Dexter Y.

It's a great place to attend and learn about God. The hypocricy lies in the hands of those who left the church because their feelings were hurt. It looks like a blame game has started and the "wounded" or people who didn't get their way, are wagging fingers at those who are positive that they are where they need to be. In that church. I believe it's good to move on and find another church if you don't think you've found where you belong, unless your new religeon consists of blaming others for your hurt feelings. Seems those people might not have been attending a good church when they had it.

Blessed

by Terry K.

Living Grace Ministries is a special niche ministry that is set apart by their truly unique pastor. Pastor Thomas Cash Powell recently delivered a special message that touched my heart called Prosper and Tithe, Prosper and Tithe and believe me Cash Powell is right! Cash was raised by a sharecropper in Virginia but rose above that life when he discovered his true lineage. He is a bonafide Virginia blue-blood; his ancestors fought for the Confederacy during the Civil war and remained loyal to the King during the Revolutionary War. The record accurately shows that Cash Powell is a descendant of the ancient Anglo-Saxon Kings and now he derives his theology from the British-Israelism movement. Why did Cash come to Tacoma instead of joining the Federal Reserve? Cash had a special vision for Tacoma one day while sitting by a lake. I say find out by coming to Living Grace Ministries and having an encounter with God. Cash Powell is researching the exact date of the return of Jesus Christ and will issue and edict this summer. No other member of the Christian Identity can claim that! Try LGM and you will love it!

Headspin

by Anonymous

This church will place a guilt trip on you for the bad things that are happening to it. If you look at why the bad things are happening you will see that it is the leadership that needs to look in the mirror. Shame on the messages that oppress the ones who have given so much for so long. The old victims can leave now if they don't like it. The church wants new victims now. Look at the history this seems to be a pattern.

A lot of stress

by Tim P.

There was a time when I was a proud member of this church and my entire family attended for several years however we recently stopped attending. The preaching, teaching, and music seemed very good for most of our tenure there. Nevertheless things started to unravel when my oldest daughter started high school. In fact the day after she obtained her drivers license, she started to argue with my wife and I and refused to come to church. Her mother and I were very upset by all of this and tried to convince her to come with us until she explained to us that she felt pressured to take expensive Bible College courses at night despite the fact that she was still in high school. I believe she also did not like the attention she was receiving from the chronically unemployed young men that already attended the Bible College. Things got worse a few months later when our little second grader did not want to attend Sunday school. A matter of fact one Sunday she started screaming and kicking at us because she did not want to go so my wife and I allowed her to stay home with her older sister while we continued to attend church services on Sunday and Wednesday. We soon learned that what little funding the youth program received was drastically cut. The final push out the door occurred when my wife came home from a rap session one night clearly upset and crying. She was told by the wife of one of the pastors that we were marked for not being one with the vision. I found this turn of events particularly strange so I attempted to call the pastor several times but I could not make an appointment with him because he travels a lot. Coincidentally I remember a couple of years ago this same pastor presented several services throughout the summer preaching against vacations right after I took my family on a once in a lifetime vacation overseas. Eventually one of the assistant pastors called me and offered to have an appointment with him instead. He was confident that he could explain everything and I was willing to meet with him as a substitute however he sent me an email that revealed that the reason I was having problems in my household was that I was not submitted to the local church and that I needed to learn Biblical principles of headship and sign up for a Bible College education. For some reason this organization pushes their expensive college classes and neglects the little children already in their midst! I declined his generous offer and have not been back to church since we had that frustrating conversation.

What?

by John q.

to the previous reviewer, you should go to www.discussggwo.org, to the tacoma thread, so you can actually get educated on the serious issues that are affecting LGM. Lying, slander, deception, covering up of wrong doing, manipulation, missrepresentation, twisting of scriptures etc. Wrong is wrong, whether the doer is a pastor or a bricklayer. In fact I think a pastor is more accountable.

Not a good church. Kept hoping it would get better and just got worse.

by Anonymous

The church can never seem to do the right things. The leaders are nice when they think they need to be, but their slip is always showing because they cannot hide their true heart. Time and time again they are nothing less than absurd to their own people. They fall flat on their face when it comes to basic basic needs of their own people and even new people. Its worse than embarrasing, actually I can't find the words to describe it. The leaders are far to cocky to listen to anybody for even simple advice to put out immediate fires, strange to say the least. On the flip side I see them completely falling all over themselves to appease flatter and butter up people that they think have lots of money. Im just so sickened by their double standards. In the end I was just to embarrased to invite anyone and decided it is certianly not a healthy church. I have found that many others that have left share some of my sentiments. I hope you find a church that is full of life.

Pushed Out

Hello this review is for the assuming "church" living grace ministries. I would say that this is not a church but one of a corporation. I went there for over 25 years. What you find there is a nice group of people, but the leadership is another story. Tom Powell the senior pastor met with me and told me that I was no longer welcomed to attend services. There stance on certain teachings are also a problem with those in majority Christendom. The problem with this is that Tom Powell has chosen not to abandon the teachings of his "spiritual father" Carl H. Steven of Greater Grace World Outreach, formerly known as The Bible Speaks. Tacoma News Tribune had a article on The Bible Speaks Northwest in 1987, this is the very same ministry that people today call Living Grace Ministries. A different name but the very same methodology in ministry.

concerned about Living Grace Ministries

by Anonymous

I came to Living Grace Minsitries as a brand new Christian, and left 16 years later with grave concern. My concerns with Living Grace Ministries relate to undue authority given to the pulpit and the authority given to the pastor, their methods of discipleship, and their close association with Carl Stevens and The Bible Speaks and Greater Grace Ministries (wwwlcarlstevens.org and www.Discussggwo.org). I am concerned that loyalty to the pastor supercedes loyalty to the truth of the Bible. I am also concerned that their discipleship methods place undue emphisis on loyalty to a paticular church over a personal relationship with Jesus. These are some of the reasons that i left. I did relay these concerns to Pastor Tom Powell, which concerns were minimalized at best. I believe that these are legitmate concerns that need to be attended to, but instead are being covered up and dismissed. I am concerned for the people that are not aware of these issues as well as those that may attend services there unaware of these issues.
