DO NOT SET FOOT IN THIS STORE!! Lies, lies and more lies. This place is bad news.

The sales people will charm you during your visit with their friendly attitude, but DO NOT buy anything here and whatever you do, don??t ever, ever buy anything that requires a special order. I had a horrendous experience similar to the numerous other reviews you can read online. The staff is nice before you place an order, but afterwards they tell nothing byt lies. Here??s my tale:

My search for dining room chairs led me to Habits for the Home and I really enjoyed speaking with salesperson Maddy and designer Mona. After a little negotiation, they beat the price of one of their competitors and offered me free delivery and setup. I placed the order by phone a day after my visit and was told both days that the delivery time was 4-6 weeks. I checked in with them at the 4-week and 6-week marks. At 6-weeks, I was told that they were waiting for a shipment date from Amisco, the chair company. That happened three more times until I lost patience after waiting 9 weeks and not getting any information. I was told that there was no way the salesperson gave me a 4-6 week timeframe and the actual wait was 8-12 weeks. I asked them to get me a shipment date from the manufacturer and they refused and said ??Why don??t you just expect that the delivery will be here in 8-12 weeks.? Yeah right! Why should I trust them?! They also never sent me a copy of the receipt even after numerous requests. After informing them that I had disputed the charge with my credit card company, they refused to speak with me. After waiting 9 weeks, I had to start all over a place the order with a different store.

I'm almost embarrassed to have to write this review, but after my experience I feel compelled to share to make sure others don't go through the same.

For starters, their merchandise is vastly over priced for the quality but I was overruled by my better half and we decided to take the plunge and buy a $1500 loveseat. At the time of purchase we were told it would take 6-10 weeks. Well 10 weeks came and went, 12 came and went, 14... you get the picture. No one would return my calls, no one would give me answers, they even had the gall to get hostile with me! Sorry for wanting my furniture that I paid for and was promised several weeks ago! 16 weeks came and I started demanding a refund to which of course they refused. Week 18 came and I decided to call my credit card company to dispute the charge. Funny how a couple days after I made this call the furniture was miraculously ready to be delivered.

I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from this company EVER again. I'm glad to see that their Pike Place location went under -- hopefully it will only be a matter of time before the other 2 locations disappear as well!

Pros: Absolutely nothing

Cons: Customer service, prices

This place is great for it's assortment of couches in the variety of sizes, styles and colors it carries. It's got some unusual ethnic touches in its furniture and some pieces with pizazz if you want something a bit unusual amongst more standard pieces in your house. Prices reasonable on most items.

My wife and I purchased a dining room set from their store in Ravenna.
It collapsed on us less than a year later.

We eventually got a replacement table, but it took some time.
Our family went without a kitchen table for a couple of months until it was resolved.

Their customer service was very poor.

I just move to Seattle a year ago. I have been looking for a nice sofa, but could not find anything I liked or that fit. Until I overheard someone talking in Wholefoods about this store. I went upstairs and finally found the exact size I needed. A small L shaped sofa, it is like a small sectional. I only paid $1700, which was about $200 less than I found in another store, but most important, thanks to the salesperson, I found the perfect fabric. They were very helpful and very attentive.
I just got the sofa delivered last week. It came about 1 week earlier than I hoped, after about 7 weeks. It fits my small apartment perfect and the we, me and my dog, LOVE it. I was already back looking for other things; they have some small ottomans that I have my eyes on, I am just waiting for my tax return. :)

In April of 2007 we ordered what we thought was the best bedroom set we could find. Custome leather and the perfect fit. We were told 14 to 16 weeks for delivery. 24 WEEKS LATER, NOTHING! I had to call 4 times to find out that it wouldn't be delivered until October. The staff kept apologizing but offered no reasonable explanation for the delay. I am confident the order wasn't placed back in April. When the bed finally arrived, the rest of the order was incomplete. I was informed they would have the rest before Christmas. Now, today I had to call and found it the pieces won't be delivered until the 2nd week of January. Oh but a store gift certificate of 100.00 is ours in their effort to say they are sorry. Some apology. Their customer service is terrible. I will NEVER buy anything from this store or their other stores again. They can keep their 100.00. It isn't worth my time to go back to that store again.
