My son plays the clarinet, Benson Music Ctr. has a music rental program, a customer can rent to own many of the instruments they offer for rent. It was confusing, once I thought I was far enough into the rental to be able to afford to purchase the instrument, I kept getting diffrent balances from diffrent workers, the end result was I did not purchase the instrument it was just returned. The workers seemed confused, the customer service I received was not good.

This store is part of the Music Centers chain, which has been around for over 50 years. It is a smaller store but stocks a surprisingly large amount of music and accessory items. They can order just about any published music and most accessory items, and often have them within 2-3 days.

They have a great instrument rental plan (our family has used it on 2 different instruments), and their repair tech is second to none (I've had at least 5 techs work on my saxophone before, and the shop at North Benson got it playing better than it ever has).

I would highly recommend giving them a try.

PROS: great rental plan, repair shop, and service.
CONS: Hard to spot from road.

North Bensen Music Center is a smaller music store that offers instruments for sale, though not many, sheet music and other music items. The store is crowded but you can find some neat things in there. I did find that their customer service was lacking somewhat. They were to order a part for my instrument and it never came and they didnt really try to get another part. For my trouble, they did give me some free strings though and I appreciated that.
