My experience at the Ram was pretty good. Me and a buddy of mine had dinner there and it had a really good atmosphere. We went during a UW home game, so we thought that we would have to wait a good 30 to 40 minutes to be seated, but even though the place was packed we got seated within 15 minutes. TV's everywhere made viewing of the game really easy. I forget my waitress' name, but she was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu items. I ordered the king crab artichoke dip for an appetizer, it was delicious! It probably isn't best for a healthy diet, but if you're looking to indulge on some good dip, that's one to get. I didn't see many super healthy options, other than the typical salads. But coming to a restaurant/ brewery, I assume most people wouldn't be looking for a very diet friendly meal, although the option would be nice. For dinner, I ordered the crab and shrimp cake sliders which were great! It was a good amount of food, and coupled with a side of soup, it was pretty filling. My buddy ordered the total disorder porter burger, which was a monstrous burger. I got to have a bite of it and it was really good. I got a milkshake, which was kind of mediocre. My friend got a beer that was pretty good, it tasted very fresh and nice of tap.
Overall, the atmosphere was great. It could use a wider variety in the food menu, but still good food and beer. The service was decent, not the best I've had but still made my dinner experience a positive one.

This is a nice, laid-back atmosphere to meet friends for happy hour or dinner. The bar area gets very loud and crowded during games, which makes it a fun atmosphere for the sports fan. Food is good. Love the Husky Burger - I always end up making two meals out of it!

I go here when I visit my brother at the UW. They have great service, an awesome made on site rootbeer (beer and other drinks are excellent as well) and amazing food. Prices are moderate (but can be pricey if your a college student) and well worth what you get. The burgers are tasty and they have a bread pudding pudding to die for-warning- served in a large portion!! (or the chocolate cake!) 8) I've recommended this place to tons of friends and a few family members as well. I almost always end up taking food home with me-food portions are on the larger side, so order apps with that in mind!!!

I've eaten at the Ram several times. The atmoshpere is collegiate and the food is good. I typically have a salad or burger and have not been dissapointed yet. I ate there about a month ago and had one of the best waitresses ever. A great place to eat if your in U Village!

I went there for lunch on a Friday and the greeter was very unprofessional; look, attitude and conversation wise, called corporate and the general manager to that store called me back on a Monday and seemed very rude. They were asking about my complaint and 100% was for the employee instead of wanting to take the time to listen to my experience. I felt more attacked then listened to. Food was ok but over priced. I would not recommend it to anyone and I will not ever eat there again.

Pros: lots of TVs... good for games

Cons: customer service was aweful

.

The resturaurant looked nice but my experience quickly went downhill when it took 10 mins for a waiter to even notice that we had been sitting there. I had to get our own menus. My food didn't come as I ordered it. While we were sitting there I kept seeing other customers going up to the waiters and asking for things like refills and the check. The food was mediocre and I would never reccommend it to anyone.

I really do not see what the hoopla is all about regarding this chain of restaurants. The food is below mediocre for the price they charge. Their lunch menu on the weekends has prices starting at $8.99 and that's for an appetizer!! My daughter ordered a teriyaki chicken sandwich, which was overdone (hard and tough) and my clam chowder tasted straight from a can. If you are desperate or just have money to burn and want to patronize a noisy place with unexciting tasting food, try this chain. Personally, I refuse to be a lemming.

Sign up on their web site for the MVP Club, and get a coupon for a free hamburger plus the usual birthday dessert deal. The Blonde is very tasty, but the Buttface Amber Ale is the winner. There is good beer on tap at The Ram. This place can get packed in both the family style dining area and the large bar section; so beat the crowds and get on the waiting list early. The hamburgers are the way to go. They aren?t fantastic, but they are pretty darn good after a few beers. It?s simply medium quality American style food in a casual setting with good beer. If you enjoy beer then you definitely want to give The Ram a try.

Cons: Long wait list

Living close to U-Village, I have been to The Ram quite a few times. It has good beer and pretty good food, but the food is definitely overpriced. Another con is that it is pretty much always crowded. Their Thai Chicken salad is pretty good, but is also like $12 or $13.

This is definitely a fun place to go when you feel like celebrating. The Ram is infamous for their Mile High Mud Pie and if someone in your party manages to eat the whole thing themselves it?s free! The atmosphere is especially exciting on Husky game nights and packed with UW students and alumni. The Ram doesn't take reservations though, so make sure and come early to put your name in.

Their food is WAY too expensive for the amount you recieve. We ordered the appetizer sampler (it sounded big on the menu) and it wasnt. The beer was pretty good, the mixed drinks I had were OK. Overall, there is much better in the UDistrict for brewery/restaurants. Have eaten here a few times, wasnt impressed either time.

I went to The Ram a few weeks ago to celebrate my twin friends' birthday. They called 30 minutes ahead of time to tell them we were coming, but our reservation got "lost". The hostesses told us we would get seated quickly since it was a "very slow night".

We waited for an hour to get seated while we saw two parties the same size as ours (about 10 people) get seated before us. Finally after an hour they split us up at sat as at two tables, and several waitresses walked by and we asked for help and they told us they were told not to serve us. My friend who was working there at the time even said something to the manager and nothing was done. Finally, a large table of people who had been seated before us (and was finished eating by the time we got there over 90 minutes ago) got up after the hostesses asked and we were seated.

The hostesses were not helpful, our waitress was horrible, our food was cold, our beer was flat. It was absolutely one of the worst experiences I have ever had.

I sent in a review to their website and the manager called me the next day to apologize and said he was emailing me a coupon for three free meals for me and my twin friends because he felt so bad. So I checked my mail, and sure enough he sent me a coupon. But it was one coupon for half off some burger (which I don't even eat) if you buy an entree at full price.

It's too bad there aren't any other good bars in UVillage for students to go to because then it would force the Ram to have better service and food. I'm going to do my best to never go back there!

My husband and I had dinner here on a Monday night. There was lots of kids in the main dining (kids eat free on Mondays), so we ate in the bar. We had great service, our meals were hot and delicious and we were able to watch some basketball. Our server, Adam, was very attentive and able to anticipate our needs. This is a great place for families as well as somewhere watch sports on lots of TVs.

There are several Bighorn Ram Breweries along the Puget Sound, i've been to all of them. The service is different at all of them, but if you go during a meal-rush time of day, YES, it will be crowded! It's a popular Brewery! It appeals mostly to college-aged people, or adults. The beer is...okay and cheap if you go during happy hour. If you go to the UW Ram, and you should, go during a NON-peak meal time. If you can, go eat in the bar, you'll get served faster most of the time. Also, for that extra cheap deal, join the "Mug Club" when they sell memberships for $20 (I think that's the price, I need to renew mine soon!); it'll get you half price drinks for a year (no matter what time of day) and half price apps. BTW-the Tacoma Ram has a GREAT patio!

Pros: Okay Beer, Can be cheap, Many Locations

Cons: Pretty Trendy, Crowded, BREWERY-Not a kid's restaurant

After 10pm, this place is all college students. They offer a different drink special every night of the week. On Sunday nights back in the bar all food and drinks are half price. Unsurprisingly, the place is packed on those nights and unless you get there early, you probably will be standing. The bar feels like wall to wall TVs, all tuned to different sports channels. It can get so loud you can't even hear yourself speak.. out in the main room it's not that bad. Food is better than average sports bar mainstays: burgers, onion rings and beer. Portions are generally huge. The mile high mudcake is like a fourth of a cake.

Beer is great. Location is great. Food is average, but it could be a lot healthier. Service is horrible. They make you wait when there are open tables. They always seem to be short staffed in the back bar. Place is way too loud- you can't here the game, never mind have a conversation. Shame that there's not another place to have a decent beer at UV.

My husband and I went for dinner. The hostess told us it would be a 30 min wait, so we thought we would get a cocktail as we waited. First off I had never been there before so I had no clue where to stand and wait for a drink because it was a complete mad house. When all of a sudden the security comes up, rudely tells us we are standing in the service area and tells us to move, ok I can understand we are standing in the way, but don't be rude about it. I got so mad we just left. 2 months later I was shopping and went in to have a Happy Hour drink. The Bartender working was very polite, and being that I have been a Bartender for 7 years he really impressed me, great guy. I would definatley go back if he's working.

The Ram has a very "college" feel to it! As soon as you walk in you see all the college flags and UW memorabilia. They have drink specials on certain days and superb food! There's TV everywhere so you can eat and watch your favorite team play, whether football or baseball...or even watch the NEWS!

I went to the Ram last night with my husband and in-laws hoping for a quick dinner. We arrived at 8:15 and were told they would not serve us. Why? Because, the waitress told me, "we turn into a bar at 10pm and don't want to seat dinner people. Come back after 10 and it'll be open bar so you can seat yourself." Uh...it was 8:15...we would have been gone by 9pm, long before "open bar" time. I guess people in their 30's with parents in their 60's are not worth their time.

While creating a hearty atmosphere in which people of all ages can watch their favorite sports games or play games themselves on a teleprompter, this restaurant has wonderful service and great food. The Husky Burger should be tried at least once in every life time. This is a one-pound burger with a bun to fit it and comes with fries. Also the rootbeer and beers drafted by the Ram come highly recommended by anyone who has tried them.

Back in college (early 90's) this was a better place to eat and drink at. Bigger portions and better quality for the $$$. Now it's urban ok. Kinda matches everything else going on in UVillage.

Food is bland and overall bad (ex. the wings taste like the wings I make at home and I suck at cooking; tortilla chips are old and chewy, not crunchy; like they've been made that morning and served at night). NONE of their beer is good (compare it to Big Time or better yet, Rock Bottom, or any normal beer like Bud light or Alaskan Amber). Way bitter. DO NOT drink their beer with food. Horrible combination. Service is extremely slow and bad, takes the waiter 20min to come around each time. And sometimes he/she just walks by and looks without saying a word even though it was QUITE OBVIOUS we needed more to drink. TRY Dante's, Duke's, Earl's, or Big Time.

The service here is at best extremely inexperienced. I went last night to a birthday party. Granted there were 30 of us, people went 1.5 hours early to secure the already made reservation, and we were seated 1.5 hours late (3 hours total waiting). They squashed us together with barely enough room to move in a very bad seating arrangement, then forgot our utensils, and messed up one of the birthday guys' order. They tried to make it up with 5 free desserts, but I felt really gross after eating their ribs to think about digging in with the other 30 people.

I went to The Ram for the first time for a friend's b-day. We had 10 people with us and it literally took 2 hours before we were all seated. Then we had to wait forever until they took our order. The food and drinks are way overpriced and definitely not worth the wait. My suggestion is to save your money and simply avoid this place all together. Why it is so popular, I couldn' t say.

this place is to preppy for me I like a place that has people that are friendly.

Pros: parking

Cons: bad food, weak drinks, over priced

.

The food is tasty, but extremely overpriced. The same is true about the beer. The inside of this place reminds you of a FAT TUESDAY or TGI if only with more wood and brass just reeking of testosterone. The specials are jokes, the other outlets have no conformity whatsoever. You go to one and find another store only not to have it. Having lived in WA most of my life, I have been to almost all of the RAMS. Usually now, it's just with friends--when I have to. The RAM has changed, people. It's not what it used to be. Go and eat or drink there, find your pocket $50-$100 shorter and you'll walk out feeling like you wasted your money. It's not fun. It's not outstanding. It's over priced and mediocre--and that's on a good day. Spend your money at elsewhere at chains that know what they are doing.

Pros: location, food can be OK, Beer is tasty

Cons: overpriced, bad staff, run of the mill

If you don't have anything to do and need to get drunk on a tuesday night, this is the place to do it, 99 cent wells cant be beat. Other than that, this place pretty much sucks, overrun with fake people and a terrible place to meet new people. Theres lots of hot girls, but I'd rather go to a real bar with culture.

I think its marketed as a sports bar, the giant TVs are really distracting if you're trying to just go with some friends. But then again, this is right up the alley for some people. Booze, sports, loose women. Hey wait a minute, maybe its not that bad after all...

The service is slow at best, the fries are terrible, the food is over-priced and it's so noisy during sporting events that you can't hear yourself talk let alone the person next to you. Also, the booths are uncomfortable as the seats are too low for the tables.

I go on occasion to the ram on sunday nights for lack of anything better to do. The service is very slow, but at least the people are nice. It is usually too crowded to sit down unless you get there at 9pm or 1am. Drinks are sometimes cheap...

Despite the slow service, this is a great place to watch any game with your friends. The tv screen in the middle of the bar and the surrounding tvs make it a pleasant environment. Add-in how the bar is set up with rows and rows of bottles around the bar, and it is quite a sight.
