This is one of best places to go for quick and affordable Mexican food. The burritos are huge and I love the spinach, tofu and cheese burrito. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service is quick. They have a great salsa and marinated pepper bar. The music is too loud, but it is worth the loud noise for the fresh quality of food. Good for large groups too, the line is always out the door but it moves fast!

PROS: yummy food
CONS: loud music

Whenever this place is open there are people lined up, but the friendly staff makes the line go by real quick. Their food is really cheap and absolutely delicious. A great Seattle taqueria that serves great food fast. I like their quesdallias and nachos, but many others come for the burritos. For me it is too much food. They take up the whole plate, but you can take the rest to go for breakfast the next day. Love their salsas, too!

PROS: Delicious and cheap!
CONS: Come hungry - huge portions!

This place is a great place to dine when it is the day before pay day and you are broke. For only 5 dollars you can get a huge burrito a drink and some chips. You will find that when you are done you will still have left overs. For just a couple dollars more you can get what I believe is called a grande burrito. It is the largest burrito I have ever freakin seen!!! Enough for like three meals, or to split with friends. Great place, Great food and Great Ambience. All together GREAT!

This place is excellent!! The quesidillas and tacos are great. Sometimes can be a bit of a wait but well worth it. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.

I lived down the street from Gorditos for almost a year and it took me almost as long to visit this great place. The only reason, really, was that I always seemed to want to go on a Tuesday! I love this place because it's unconventional in it's ordering/serving style. The food is so fresh and even healthy! You can also order a nice Mexican beer to wash down your food.

I tell everyone I know to eat at Gordito's. For a few measly dollars, you can get a burrito the size of a newborn baby. I don't know what they do to make their chicken and beef taste SO good and I don't care because I can't get enough of it. The salsa is homemade, the people are SUPER nice, but the line can be long.

I frequently visit the Everett location but decided to give the other location a try to make sure it was as good. Was amazed to see how much more crowded this one was, but happy to learn they had a parking lot and outdoor patio area. Food is equally as delicious, I have a hard time trying anything different as I love the tofu burrito so much, but I hear the quesadillas are pretty good too. Portions are huge, and if you need a bigger burrito you can get one the size of a baby for only 10$. I'm thinking of experimenting with this next time myself. What a great way to save money if you can find someone willing to split your burrito. Same great salsa bar, I even learned their salsa is being sold at Madison Market. Some people complain portions are too big, but I personally enjoy more food for my money.

Pros: Tofu burrito, salsa bar, parking lot, value

When I sit down, the first thing that I do is pour their homemade salsa, also known as a Pihuamo Sauce, all over the top of the burrito to give it that extra kick. Diving in I'm hit with the savory flavors that I've come to expect from Gordito's. The tortilla has been warmed and is very nice and soft. The chicken is always juicy, never dried out. The rice is simply seasoned, and the black beans tender, but not mushy. And the red sauce finishes it perfectly, a fairly mild flavor that just meshes perfectly with everything else.

Gorditos serves up delicious, authentic, Mexican food in enormous portions. One entree will serve an average person for two meals. I've heard tales of men with large appetites challenging each other to finish the baby-sized burritos - without much success, I might add. The food is great, especially accompanied by their fresh salsas and pico. The place is a bit of a hole in the wall, but that's all part of the charm. In cool days, settle in by the fireplace with a burrito or a plate of creamy chipotle chicken and imagine yourself in warmer climates. Burritos will set you back about $7, other entrees are between $8 and $11. Vegetarian and vegan options are numerous!

Pros: Huge portions, great food

Cons: Is anything healthy in that size portion?

I love these cheap burritos. The building looks like a hole in the wall, but its authentic and tasty. Their large burrito is the size of a new born baby... so go hungry.

This place has a great menu with well prepared food. There's nothing fancy here, just a solid meal. I got a Fish Burrito & my wife got a Prawn Taco. Both were excellent. Our only complaint was that we ordered them to go and when we finally had a chance to sit down and enjoy the hot wraps had fallen apart inside the foil wrappers. If you're getting yours too go, then pick up a fork and lots a napkins.
We will definitely go again!

Pros: Excellent food at great price

Cons: hot burritos fall apart when ordered to go!

Prices are cheap for the amount of food you get. One burrito can easily be split into two or three meals, and a super burrito can easily be split into three or four! It's not the best burrito I've ever had, but it is pretty tasty for the price.

Yes, my boss and I took a trip today to Gordito's. We usually eat at Pho Tic Tac across the street and see tons of people going in and out of Gordito's all the time. So we agreed that some day we'll try it out and today was "THE DAY."

I ordered the steak burrito (wet) with mild sauce and made it a "plate" order(which means it comes with rice and beans) and my boss ordered steak enchiladas plate. We have been to many Mexican restaurants like Jalisco's which is really good, Mr. Villas which has homemade tortillas and really great mole sauce(my boss' preferred sauce), and I like Chipotle because of the freshness of their meats and vegetables especially the lettuce. Any ways, we were excited to eat and the place was just full of patrons, so we had really high expectations. However, we were entirely disappointed with the quality of flavor, wait a minute, what quality???
There was no flavor on the steak pieces, the salsa was very bland, but they did give us quantity. The burrito was huge, but it didn't make up for the lack of flavor.

So we sat there and finished our foods, only because I had paid $25 bucks for 2 plates and drinks to wash it down. Very disappointing. Will never go back!!!!!

We love this place !!! We have been going for years.

The prices don't change very often. This year the prices did go up, just like everywhere else. I heard that their cost went up about 20% but they only raise their prices by 5%. The 3% credit card charge is just a way to pass on the credit card charge that they pay. I think that it is great that they accept credit cards at all. I've heard that business owner pay rediculous amounts for accepting cards.

The food and service is worth every penny. The flavors are the same as they were when we discoverd Gorditos years ago. No matter how long I've been going there, my favorite is still the chicken fajita wet burrito (sometimes steak is my favorite). The burrito hasn't changed a bit, flavor and size. They did come out with a smaller item menu last year, and you can order your favorites in a smaller version. I still order the regular and take home leftovers, but this is a super nice option.

Thank you Gorditos !!!!!

I've been going to Gorditos for fun & fast Mexican food for several years. I went in last night for the first time in several months and was annoyed with the changes they have made to the menu. The food was the same, and still tasted pretty good (prawn fajita quesadilla is really the best thing I've found there and everything else is pretty standard). However, the "new" higher prices on the menu are for CASH ONLY and they will charge you 3% more for using a credit card. I had cash so I didn't complain, but come on! Why punish people for using a credit card? And I know 3% isn't much, but it surprised me for a restaurant to have this policy. The prices are already much higher than they were a couple years ago. Seems like they are getting arrogant with their reputation around Seattle and don't want to be bothered with customer service. I'm fed up with their rules (this new 3% thing & only ONE basket of chips per table) and don't think I will return. I'll miss the quesadilla but there is other good Mexican food around.

Cons: Ridiculous price increases and limiting chips and salsa

The burritos here are amazing. The carne asada is seasoned to perfection and their salsas are also very tasty. Fast, friendly service, outdoor seating in the back...highly recommended. The only possible downside is that it can get pretty loud in there...but that's part of the atmosphere.

I kept hearing over the years how great this place is. Well, I finally got a try of one of their giant burrittos. I was severely disappointed. It may be healthy and the ingredients certainly were fresh but it was not a taste treat in the least. Bland stuff rolled in a gummy tortilla. While a few of the Mexican restaurants in Seattle match those great ones that I've eaten in in Mexico, California, Texas and even Washington, DC, this place doesn't even come close to passable.

I've been a Gordito's fan for years, so perhaps I'm biased. It certainly can be up and down, however, lately they seem to be on an upswing. If you want a solid meal for a very reasonable price, you can't beat this. The portions are obscene, so...share them. The carne asada plate is a great dish to share and I just had my best ever at Gordito's. The wet fish burrito, which comes with salsa verde and not the standard red sauce, is excellent. The marinated fish is incredibly flavorful, but yes, perhaps over-seasoned. If you want subtlety, go somewhere else.

Come on people these burritos are nothing special. Big yes, but unbelievably over hyped. If you?re looking for a filler overdose and a stomach ache, you?ve come to the right place! How can they claim this is healthy Mexican food when their burritos could suffocate a small child? Quantity is far from Quality.

The staff is always friendly and serves you as quick as possible. Some Fri and Sat nights the line is out the door. The parking is really tight especially if you have a large vehicle or even a mid-size. You can order a large burrito and definately have leftovers for lunch the next day. The carne asada burrito is AWESOME and the chicken is good as well. The regular size burrito will probably still give you leftover sthe next day and only costs around $6. The restaurant is a self-serve, homey place, and extremely warm in the summer, though there is an outside patio in the back. There is a great salsa bar. You are expected to clear your own table, and there are to-go boxes if you need to pack up. It's part of keeping the costs low. Love it!

OK, it might not be authentic, true mexican food, but man. If I can feed 4 people for $10 (grande burrito, wet and fajita style no doubt) I am a happy camper.

Also happy to find Manny's on tap.

Keep up the good work! Happy to have the Queen Anne location!

Yes, we weighed take-out burritos once, and yes, they weighd 2.5 pounds. That's for a regular burrito, wet of course.
Burritos are definately the main attraction. Be aware that most other options come with the same beans and rice as the burrito, so some taste very similar. Salsa/sauces are made in house and on rare occasion it's been a little bland, but the salsa bar can fix that. As far as dining in, yes, it's loud. Go during off hours and it's reasonable, call in an order to go at rush hours-and jump to the front of the line to pick up. The back patio is open during the summer, though small. Beer is great, supplied by a local U-brew (Gallaghers in Edmonds).
They aren't open Tuesdays, and take a month over the holidays-the entire place closes down. Visit the new Queen Anne location, 1507 Queen Anne N

Aside from the free chips and salsa, all I eat here are the burritos, as reflected in this review, and heres why: a $6 burrito can easily provide 2-3 meals; an $8 burrito grande could last 4-5. Unfortunately, they dont offer a white-meat chicken option for their burritos, which would make these babies near perfect (and when I say baby, I mean that the burrito grande is about the size of a small infant). The rest of the ingredients are also fairly healthy: seasoned rice, black beans, freshly-diced tomato, lettuce, and diced jalapeno if you opt for a spicy burrito. If thats not tongue-burny enough for you, they also have a salsa bar with selections from mild to hot, and a fiery medley of pickled jalepeno, carrot, and onion if youre looking for some eye-watering fun disguised as a garnish.

Big and delicious, that pretty much sums up a Gorditio's Burrito. One of the mass market "mexican" restaurants recently claimed that "you need two hands to handle one of these", by that standard you would need about 16 hands to handle a Gorditios Grande Burrito. Ingredients are all fresh, the salsa is homemade, and the Gordito's Beer is good. Get the burritos to go though because the high ceilings and tile floors make it virtually impossible to hold a conversation in the dining area. Parking can be difficult as well. Rumor has it a second Gorditios will be opening sometime this year.

Gordito's serves the biggest burritos in the Northwest. I highly recommend splitting one with someone rather than trying to polish one off on your own. But they are great. Gordito's also has an interesting "family recipe" salsa and great agua frescas.

Parking isn't a problem but I have seen lines for Gordito's going down the sidewalk. But it is definitely worth waiting.

Really low prices for great food - and lots of it. What more could a poor student wish for? I have found that ordering the burritos "wet" adds quite a bit of flavor, and recommend it strongly. A burrito is enough for one very large meal, or, should you like, two healthy meals. The burrito grande is quite large, and can be split between two-four people, depending on their appetites. Or, go for broke and try to down it in one sitting - possible, but not strongly recommended.

The lines are usually long around meal time, but they move quickly. Once you place your order, pick up your trusty pinata (Miguel's my favorite), grab some chips and salsa, take a seat at an open table, and wait for the food to be brought over. When you are done eating, clear your own plates and make room for the next crowd.

Pros: Fast service, Inexpensive, Large Quantity

Cons: , Inauthentic atmsphere

Talk about a hugh grubbin' chicken burrito that is so tasty, one cannot figure out why it is so cheap. Make it wet to add cheese sour cream, and ok tasting red sauce on top. Make sure to top it off with TONS of the cilantro/onion mix from their complimentary bar. And don't say no to the free chips and salsa (the salsa is warmed up). Hmmm hmmm tasty.

If you want a lot of food that you can split with your beau and still have enough for lunch the next day, you've got to try their Burrito Grande. And that's for less than $9 w/ tax!!! The grand burrito's are huger than huge and filled with careful balance of tasty broiled chicken, black beans, a little cheese and delicious sauce. Unlike how most other restaurant's fish burritos are skimpy with a few flakes of fish, Gordito's fish burrito is incredible in taste and huge in portion. Then try their tasty corn chips and unforgetable warm salsa. You should also stop by the condiment area and try their other salsas. The chips and salsa are so good that you continue to eat that even after their fast service brings your burrito. All this in an atmosphere of loud lively music.

A lively place with excellent food in generous portions. My weekly visit provides tasty snacks for several days. The food is authentic Mexican and I should know coming to Seattle from South Texas I've experienced all kinds. This is simply the best food provided by the friendliest people in town.

It's simply a joy to eat at Gorditos.

Gordito's is more than a restaurant, its a party.
Its music and fun and the food is always great.
The staff is not afraid to join in while you laugh and they are all hard workers but still they smile as you leave.

I highly recommend this to all that like Mexican food, The cooks are expert, but I say viva la Party!

I always find this place to be crowded and one gets the impression that it is a great place to be but the food is very disapointing. Large yes, but way too salty and with little taste appeal. I have returned several times thinking I just was there on a bad day or because I was attracted by the lineup of people (which seems to indicate that it is a place to be). However, each and every time I leave saying, should have gone to Taco Del Mar. My only explanation for the interest in the place is that you get a lot of food, but if you cannot finish it because it tastes so bad then what is the point.

The line out the door is really the only con. The food at Gorditos features the freshest ingredients, nice cuts of meat, and fabulous seasonings and sauces. One burrito will fill you for dinner and lunch the next day!

Burritos the size of your head--and that's just the regular sized ones. If you go for the grande, be forewarned that it's made with TWO jumbo tortillas filled to bursting. Pretty good enchiladas; terrible fajita style entrees. Reasonably decent but not very authentic in flavor, despite the all-Latino staff. All three times weve been there the beans were drastically oversalted, but for the price it's a flaw most folks would overlook if they were truly hungry. Downside: Its often filled to overflowing with college boys noisily making a mess of their wet jumbo burritos.

Gorditos should be the top choice here. In terms of taste, quality, value and eating enjoyment, this is the place. Besides being large enought to feed a couple, or a family of four, the burrito ranging in price from $5 to $9.00, is the tastiest, healthiest, most wonderful burrito in town. Everything there is great. The tacos are cheap, lot's there, and really tasty, fresh and healthy. The family that runs the place knows what they are doing, and do it well. This is the best mexican food around.

Since I live in the neighborhood, I've given this place plenty of chances - but I always leave disappointed. It's not as though there are 'plenty' of options - but it doesn't merit long lines.

For those Saturday or Sunday hangover repair meals, Gordito's really satisfies. You can guzzle the water or order the bucket of Coronitas to pull the hair of the dog that bit ya! The portions are enormous, the quality is high, and the price is reasonable. If the line is long, don't fret, the wait will not be long. The food is so good thatthe ambiance will not matter a bit.

Every time I visit L.A., Texas, or the Southwest, I make sure and eat as much Mexican and Tex-Mex food as I possibly can. This is because mexican food in Seattle is pretty much "OK" and that's it. Except for Gorditos. Gorditos is a haven for those who crave great burritos and tacos (a under-ordered item, IMO). The burritos are HUGE and are enough for two - get them wet, whatever you do. The tacos are smaller and just as good. All the food is more taqueria style in a way than "gourmet", but it is second to none in Seattle (though I've heard south seattle has some good joints). Service is great, the ambience is kind of "fast-food", but that's the feel of this joint. Great food, cooked to order and sent out fast. Yum!

The portions here are incredible. It is very difficult to get through 1 burrito in a single sitting, and it takes some people 2 or 3 tries at it!

The food is absolutely exellent, and so cheap, which is great for a starving college student!

The only disadvantage is its popularity, because it can take a while waiting in line. And it is not open Tuesdays.

Gordito's is a great place to go if you are very very hungry and have little pocket money! The steak wet burrito for $5 is the best deal in Seattle. Plus, try the chipolte sauce, it is GREAT!

Gordito's is a great value. The food is fresh and the prices very reasonable. I do question just how "healthy" this food is: It's obvious that the sodium content is through the roof, and there is certainly a lot of fat coming from the enormous portions of meat that they give you. The food is very tasty, though. I cannot, however, recommend the tofu burrito, as they give you uncooked, mushy cubes of raw tofu. They should at least make this one with very firm, baked tofu. The spinach burrito is passable, but not worth a special trip to this place. If you go to Gordito's, plan on getting a beef or chicken burrito. This review may sound critical, but overall Gordito's is a unique and satisfying restaurant. In addition, the people who run this place are extremely pleasant, and always make you glad that you chose to eat there.

Why the long lines? Yes, the food is cheap but you get what you pay for at this place. I've had better food, service, and ambience at cafeterias.

I can see the attraction of this place to the 20-something, sandal-wearing crowd: it's cheap and they give you a ridiculously large amount of food. But having to sit on a rickety chair with a torn cushion while yelling to your mates over the blasting music doesn't make for the best dining experience. Neither does having to scrape massive amount of leftovers into a styrofoam box. I see why many of the crowd are take-out customers.

If you want to wait in a long line for unremarkable food, go to Gorditos.

There is always a line out the door at Gorditos in Greenwood. It's worth it though, very authentic and very tasty. They keep their prices down and make the $ strickly on volume. I recommend ordering your burrito hot!
