5 Stars: Great organic and natural foods selection (by Eric R.)

Madison Market is by far my favorite of Seattle's numerous natural foods stores. They have a huge selection of organic produce, delicious homemade food, a great bulk food section, and a nice assortment of fresh seafood. Prices are quite reasonable as well, considering the nature of the store.

4 Stars: Fresh Fish! (by Tony D.)

When i shop at Madison Market, I am inspired to cook. Other grocery stores just depress me, but Madison Market makes food interesting again. I suppose this is because, being an organic co-op, they take an active interest in the food itself. I find the fresh fish to be particular good. Madison Market isn't very near my home, but I make a special trip there when I have a fancy meal coming up. My only complaint is that the layout is a little odd, and I often have to circle to find what I want.

PROS: all organic, great seafood
CONS: sometimes slow checkout

5 Stars: great store (by Tamar B.)

This is by far my favorite grocery store in the seattle area. In fact, I recently moved to the east side, and I still go there once in a while. They've got exellent prices on a great selection of healthy, frequently organic, and vegetarian products. Plus, I like my money going to a coop rather than to a large expanding chain. They have a nice deli section with prepared foods, including vegan baked goods. Their produce is a bit pricey, but it is mostly local and organic, and generally of very high quality.

4 Stars: Co-op with a big store selection (by Mary C.)

They have better produce than most co-ops, the deli is so so good and fresh. They offer cool members deals and discounts. I have been glad to see Madison Market still quite busy even after the chain store (TJs) moved in down the block. The only problem is parking.

5 Stars: Healthy and Delicious (by Eleni V.)

I remember Madison Market when it was the tiny Central Co-op on 12th Avenue in Capitol Hill. Now a large grocery-sized store, the Co-op continues to maintain community connection and involvement through its store on East Madison. Here you will find foods of the Gods: organic, healthy, and delicious! Membership is $60 (paid in increments or in full) but non-members are welcome and encouraged to shop. Shop here to support your local co-op and sustainable, organic farming.

PROS: Good sales, quality produce, lots-o selection.
CONS: Um...

4 Stars: Trader Joe's should take some tips... (by Kevin D.)

I hope the fact that a Trader Joe's just opened in the area doesn't take away business from these folks. They've been around for many years providing the freshest organic produce.Trader Joe's lacks the produce if you havent noticed. I am quite lucky to be so close to it. To be honest, I go between TJ's and the Madison Market for different reasons. That way I am satisfied and both places are getting my business. There is parking available and the employees are quite nice. A very clean and friendly atmosphere. Keep it folks. I hope you stick around for many years to come.

PROS: produce, employees
CONS: none

5 Stars: Great Co-op Grocery (by kim r.)

You can't really beat Madison Market's produce. They also have fantastic pre-made salads and deli items. Their prices are decent and all produce is organic. Members get a discount on some items, but most discounts are for everyone even if you're not a member. The staff is helpful and courteous and super hip, and their bulk items are reason enough to shop there exclusively. It says a lot that even with Trader Joes a block away, Madison Market is still thriving.

4 Stars: Madison Market (by teri j.)

Madison Market is a co-op grocery store featuring natural foods. There is a pretty good sized bulk food section. The deli section features many fresh healthy vegetarian items such as marinated tofu or garlic humus. Unfortunately I think it may go out of business because Trader Joes just opened a few blocks up.
