While I do think that the Swedish network has the best doctors in Seattle, I will never get a procedure done at this particular Swedish hospital again. The staff is negligent and possibly dishonest.

When I had a minor procedure done in July of 2012 the staff lost ALL of my belongings, including my clothing, jewelry (including my wedding ring), my purse, my iPad, and my iPhone. The orderly who had come to take me into surgery specifically told the friend who dropped me off to leave my things in a closet and that it would be waiting there for me when I got out, but wrote on my chart that my friend had taken all of my belongings with him. When I got out of surgery no one could find my things, and I had to go home in a hospital gown.

After a lot of letter writing, the hospital agreed to repay me for the clothing that was lost, but refused to pay for the $1000+ worth of other things that were lost. I suspect that my things were stolen by a member of the staff, but at the very least they were extremely negligent to tell me to leave my valuables in an unsecured location, write incorrect information on my chart, and lose my things. I do not trust them, nor am I happy with the way the administration handled the incident.

the worst feedback is deserved by them...less than negative !
I believe Swedish hospital in seattle should be fully investigated by F.B.I. / POLICE AGENCIES and all other authorities for wrong doing. I am glad that with the use of internet, I can tell the whole world what they did to my mother who was at Swedish hospital for 60 days for breast cancer till she died by injection from an unknown nurse that we have never seen before.
This unknown nurse entered my mom's room , asked all 4 of us to leave the room, injected my mom with something and left the hospital in a rush.
I asked her, what are you injecting my mom , she did not responded but on her way out ,she told me that my mom will be passing away in less than one day and I told her.....everyone's life is on God's hand and she laughed and left quickly.
They covered up everything. my mom's medical chart does not show who entered her room around 10 pm on may 17th and injected her and left the hospital immediately.
We are a very close family and we did not leave our mom alone even one minute. They made lots of errors, over doze her several times, they were under staff. they had 2 nurses at night to watch almost 30 rooms with cancer patients.

I recommend to everyone to use your digital camera, your cellphone with camera, document every single thing and do not ever let anyone to inject your love ones with something else......watch for strangers that the hospital hires to show up all of a sudden at night to inject your love ones with something like "succinylcholine" THAT can not easily be traced except by FBI CRIME LAB.

They may have done it because my mom had lots of pain and talked to Dr. Henry Kaplan in private....but Dr. kaplan had no right to order such an injection and to end my mom's life.

washington state laws are different than state of oregon. I want to know personaly if the swedish hospital president knows about these type pf practices, if Dr. Kaplan knows what he did was against the law and I want to see that person face to face who entered the hospital and injected my mom and talked to me . in my opinion all of them who be liable and I fully recommend to everyone out there to fully observe all nurses & doctors, record everything for yourself, fully document everything ,take pictures with your cell phone of anyone that you are suspicion and they fool you as a nurse and they they inject your love ones with something and they will end their lives .

Thought I had a bladder infection that went to my kidneys and it turns out I had a fibroid tumor larger than a football.

The surgeons and staff at Swedish were unbelievable. I was in the hospital for 3 nights and received the best care I've ever had. The nursing staff was caring, attentive and really great.

A week after I got out of Swedish I went to the Folk Life Festival 2009 with my 86 year old Dad visiting from Minnesota when he felt faint and his pulse was 160 so medics rushed us back to Swedish and again I was so impressed with the level of care my Dad received. Everyone from admitting to the nurses and doctors treated us like gold. Amazing Hospital !

When I gave birth at Swedish First Hill, it was the scariest experience of my life. First, I was not properly monitored, then it became and emergency and I ended up having a C Section. The anesthesia people could not correctly give the spinal to numb me. Finally someone competent came in to do it and was in an uproar at the incompetence of the last 2 people who tried. My husband and I were left alone after the birth. They did not monitor us and at one point, my husband had to insist that someone come in because they forgot we were there and I had no pain medication for half the day. When he looked out the door, no nurses or doctors were even on our floor area! There was no baby nursery available when I was in pain and wanted to rest. Someone actually YELLED at us for asking! When I compare my experience to other moms who had babies at other hospitals, I would say to stay away from this hospital at all costs.,

Swedish is one of the finest hospitals in the Northwest. They were excellent during the tough times with my father-in-law and many other times. The level of care was excellent and we can't thank them enough for their care.

The care at Swedish Hospital is great. I had to go to the Emergency Room after fainting in a restaurant and they took wonderful care of me. They pinpointed the problem immediately which doesn't always happen in the ER. I respect the doctors there very much.

when my 32 week ultrasound discovered a problem with my amino fluid i was placed in the antipartum unit of this hospital. the nurses were so caring and sweet and so gentle with me in my emotionally distressed state. the delivery rooms are beauitful, the nicu nice and private, and the staff very loving. the food is good, and housekeeping does a wonderful job.

My wife spent a month at Swedish in the antipartum unit... they staff was excellent and the food was the best hospital food I've ever experienced. They really have done it right. Patients get a menu in their room and can order any time day or night and it's delivered to the room. Very nice perk if you have to be in the hospital.

This place is incredible! The doctors, the facility and all of the staff. As difficult as it is seeing someone in the hospital and ill, it's nice when you leave there feeling as though they are being taken care of the best possible. A+++++++++

This is a tough one- it is a great facility, I've had some outstanding doctors (the perinatology group is fantastic!) and if I have another child - I will definitely be going to Swedish. All that being said - I've had a couple of probs with the nurses - and one horrible on-call doc. So, my caveat is have someone with a level head with you to manage your care - ie doula or friend, spouse. My husband was the one who caught the meds dripping on the floor from the IV stand during my 26 labour.

This hospital has taken care of my wife through two pregnancies. I thought they were good to her, but they didn't offer enough for the spouse. There was one time that I left after the parking garage closed and I had to scrounge just to fine $5 to pay the fee since no one was there to take my free parking pass. The food in the cafeteria is not that great and a little high-priced. I had to run to the local McDonald's a few times.

I delivered my terminally ill son at Swedish and the NICU took great care of him until he was transferred to Children's Hospital. The waiting room was a tad small near the NICU and there wasn't a lot to do. The nurses were gentle and the doctors helpful.

I had a nice room during delivery but they transferred me to another room since my son had to be in the NICU. The room they put me in was not that nice and thankfully I didn't have to share it though there was a place for another mom.

I visited again when I had some preterm labor and a procedure to keep my next baby healthy. The nurses were kind in the Maternity ward and this time I was in a nice room the whole time.

The food is ok but a little pricey if your spouse is staying all day and overnight with you.

Parking is not free unless you are a patient.

PROS: Great services!
CONS: Expect to pay for parking in the parking garage
