My Darling Spidey and I are thinking that the Pizza and atmosphere we prefer in The Emerald City is Piecora's on Madison. It is right off of 14th so we go up to Pine and cut a right. Or straight up Pike. The important thing is to get there! Great wide booths accomodate friends and coats. Friendly waitstaff and Bartender had us rolling. We shared a half pizza and we were full. Other people were nice and approachable. Drinks (crown & coke) were awesome. We highly recommend Piecora's NY Pizza. Very budget friendly for the little big city. We look forward to returning to this Seattle staple every time we have a pizza and personality craving. Can't wait for Poetry night Thursdays SEE YOU HERE!

Cons: too full no kidding

Worked at the joint back in the early days and I never tired of that pie!
Dan and Deb had just opened the balcony for service, and the place was always packed.
In college & no $$ meant pizza was often breakfast, lunch and dinner at our pad. You would think after that much pizza, I would never want to eat it again. Well, most visits to Seattle include a pitcher and a pie at Piecora's.
Wish I could order a Manhattan for delivery to Bellingham tonight!

Went there tonight with a friend and ordered a half combo, half blue cheese and onion pizza. We got the half combo...the other half never came. When the waiter checked on us, I told him we never received the other order. He walked away. Later came back with the bill, and I mentioned (again), that we never received the other half of our order. His response was: "Well, we didn't charge you for it". And that I was "too nice" to get it. My take is that they didn't want to make it, didn't make it, and the waiter totally blew us off. Piecora's is not the only game in town; I won't be back."

My girlfriend wanted to have her 35th birthday party in a space with good food that was family friendly (she nannies for a few small kids).
I was able to go in earlier to drop off balloons (they were awesome about that), and they never made me look for a server or feel bad for 'taking over' the back room with small kids and adults alike. They were professional, handled everything through me, and my girlfriend was able to have a fantastic birthday.
The pizza was great, the kids were allowed to run around -- and being in the back room, this was done without bothering the majority of the patrons that evening.

I will *definitely* come here again, and they also are offering a great special on Monday nights now with half priced pies. Not sure how long this will last, but I'd get it while it does!

I went to Piecora's Pizza to watch the UFC 86. I didn't see the 10 foot screen they were talking about so we all had to stare at the 40 inch (guess) above the bathroom hallway. It was CROWDED in there. The pizza was awesome.
The ambiance is a little different. With the HIP-HOP venue accross the street and the soccer mom telling her son to avert his eyes from the "bloodshed" in the UFC fight... it seemed like this is the place EVERYONE goes for good pizza. The pitchers of Fat Tire were 13 bucks ( a little expensive for my taste ) but all in all it was a fun time.
And again, the Pizza was the best I've had in Seattle. Perfectly crunchy, perfect toppings... mmmmmm. I want some right now.

Piecora's is the best pizza in town! We have been going there for a few years and love it each and everytime. The sauce is tangy and very flavorful.

get the Queens; it is fantastic. The crust is great and I eat here at least twice a month. The service is a little slow for lunch though, don't go if you are in a hurry but it is well worth the wait.

We live two blocks away, and the pizza arrived an hour later very cold. Okay, maybe delivery is bad. So we gave it a second chance and ordered pick-up. Pizza is still cold even though we saw it emerge from the oven. And, the crust is bready and tasteless. The only New York style part of the pizza is the service with attitude. I'll never go again

I have been to Piecora's about 50 times and have never once had an issue. I have searched high and low for decent pizza in this town and this is the best that I have found. I have always had friendly service (in fact, they recognize me now and every once in a while comp my lunch!) and the food has been consistently excellent. I've taken groups of 20 people there and they have had no problem seating us and serving us efficiently.

I always get the brooklyn pizza and hot wings. The hot wings are great!!! Acctually hot, and smothered in sauce. The pizza is great, thin crust, just the right amount of sauce and cheese.

The only negative comment is the service. In the restaurant, people are not particualrly friendly, unless you are the waiters friend, don't expect a smile. Delivery is slow!!! I live a couple of blocks away, and it always takes at least an hour to get to us. The domino's down the street can get it here in 30 minutes.

I've had a metal spoon cooked into a calzone. I've had totally blown orders. They've delivered food that was burnt beyond being edible. Not once did they offer to remake the order and make it right when called back about the problem.

They have offered to make it for free the next time I order. WTF? I didn't call them tonight because I'm hungry next month. I called, ordered and paid because we're hungry tonight. How about this? Next time I'll pay with monopoly money and the can come back next month for the real money. I wonder how they would feel about that.

The consistency of the food when they manage to get the order correct is non-existent. Sometimes the food is great. Sometimes not so much. You really just have to cross your fingers and hope when you order that none of the emo staff members are on suicide watch that day.

Oh yeah. And the staff are ALWAYS right and they NEVER make mistakes.

I've given them too many chances and they have failed almost EVERY time.

If you want really good pizza with top notch service, do yourself a favor and call Pagliacci Pizza (206-726-1717). They may be a bit more expensive but it's well worth it.

I just had to start a citysearch account in response to what 'worstcustomerservice' wrote. I live in Capital Hill and walk over here for a pizza and a few pitchers of Mac and Jack's with friends AT LEAST once a week. Pizza is a total staple for me; my aunt owns a gourmet pizzeria and it is one of the few foods my boyfriend truly enjoys so I have been thoroughly exposed to even the most imaginative pie creations. I can say with zero hesitation that Piecora's is exactly what big, chewy, cheesy, greasy American-style pizza is supposed to taste like. And the service? It is true - in general they are not super friendly, and they stay out of your way but this is part of the atmosphere that the establishment creates. And they are always fast and efficient and get your order right.

I have to say that I would not recommend the pasta dishes--stick with pizza, salads and garlic/cheese bread. They have a great lunch special where you get a slice and a salad for like $6. Please do not listen to bad reviews! Piecora's will not disappoint!

Piecora's is the absolute worst pizza joint ever. EVER.
For your own mental health and safety, stay 300 feet away at all times. I had a horrible experience with Piecora's yesterday; it was absolutely humiliating. The waiters make you feel demeaned and disrespected and are incredibly rude and offensive. I wish I could put into words how much I hate this place. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The pizza is actually pretty tasty, but don't risk going there when you could go somewhere else equally good.

Cons: HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE, ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE

As a semi-regular customer of Piecora's, I must say it is a great place to have a meal. Every Friday we have the same adorable server (Brian) who consistently puts us in a great mood. The Piecora's salad is incredible, but go with Italian, their Ranch and Blue cheese is often times wayyyy too thick.
Pizza-wise, I am a huge fan of the Brooklyn, but its always fun to choose from a large selection of toppings.
Cheese Bread is excellent as well.

We love Piecoras! (and Brian)

So it seems as though if your family owns the restaurant you have the right to be rude to the customers that keep the business going....WRONG...I've been here about three times, and each time they have truly messed my order up, forgotten something or where just downright rude. If you don't like working customer service dont go into the business...Also the food stinks, I got the breaded eggplant parmesean my last visit, which truly consisted of tomato paste right out of the can, more bread then eggplant and the cheese tasted rubbery...and old...For nearly $10. Truly not worth the hype...I wont be eating here nor recomending it either.

Being here in Seattle from NY for over 15 years I started to give up on finding a great NY style pizza. Until someone shared a secret - Piecora's is THE BEST pizza in Seattle. Not too thin not too thick, not too much cheese and sauce. The crust was pure perfection. Cooked in real pizza ovens the crust is just the right crispy-ness and a crust that's perfect. The Italian sausage was ground and evenly distributed, the sweet peppers (not raw!!) and chopped garlic made for the perfect slice. They also have Newcastle on tap and Anchor Steam. This place serves a slice of heaven - go for it! Good service on a Saturday afternoon. Ample parking too.

This really is some of the best pizza in Seattle (granted, the bar is set low); however, the "I could care less if you choke, puke, or die of thirst" service attitude is just too much to take. Piecoras is unfortunately one of those Seattle establishments where the wait staff and management are MUCH too cool to care about what you, the customer, wants or needs. It's a shame.

Overall, Piecora's is a great place to go if you can get over the extremely and consistently poor service. Ive been there three times... each time about six months apart... and the lack of service and common decency left me starting my meal in a bad mood (Three strikes and your out I guess). The pizza is good, however, which leads me to my most suitable recommendation... DELIVERY!

There is good pizza and then there is REALLY good pizza. Piecora's is the latter of the two. I used to work at the establishment and never got tired of eating there. The calzones are made to order and one is big enough to leave two people full. The drinks are strong and the staff friendly. Can't eat a whole pizza? Then order a 1/2 pie starting at $6. Don't forget, Piecora's also delivers.

I've gone here several times for group meetings and lunches. The pizza is average every time and for the price I would hope for a bit more. The owner is super nice and I like that he gives money to charities, so I don't mind too terribly that I paid the eat there. But every time the waitstaff were rude and self-absorbed. One even yelled at us once. If you're looking for a rougher place to hang sure; but if you want good fun ambience I would look elsewhere.

Having gone to UW for my undergrad, I've had my fair share of Seattle pizza. However, none compare to Piecora's. I now live 60 miles north and every time I'm in Seattle, I go back to Piecora's. The calzones are to die for, but bring your appetite b/c they are huge! They offer a hip, low-key atmosphere with a variety of beers on tap and spirits to wash down the great food. Service is fast, friendly w/ some added personality. High value food & service w/out a high price tag!

I've been to Piecora's a few times and it's not too bad. For Seattle, I would say this is "good pizza", which means that it is edible. If I was hungry(again) and in the 'hood, I'd stop by for a slice or two.

As for all the comparisons to NY pizza...puleeeze...enough already. Trust me, I wish it were true, but it isn't. Oh how I wish...

Pros: pizza, they serve slices

Cons: , the NY, goodness

I've been in Seattle for five months now and this is the best pizza I've found. Sure, some may complain that the service isn't the most friendly, but they bring you the DELICIOUS pizzas quickly. I was surprised that they offer 1/2 size pizza's. Perfect for two, or leftovers for one. I have to warn you that they are a little stingy with the cheese... some may want to order extra. When I go out to eat I want good food, I couldn't care less if the waiter had flair. Other pizza in Seattle is bland or overrated (like Pagliacci's). I won't go anywhere else.

Pros: good value, delicious dough, tasty sauce

Cons: not the friendliest, smoky for kids, YOU ask for refills

I really really like the pizza. But the service in the restaurant can be sort of rude and sort of slow. This pizza is better enjoyed at home after it has been delivered to you or you have picked it. By the way, the delivery people are really nice. I like the greek salad as well and this makes a cheapish place to have a pizza party---if you can get past the service

Whoever rated this as a 3 is dead wrong. Take another 50 trips to Italy and the Pizza will still not take like a Pizza from NY. If they said authentic pizza from Italy, they would have a point but personally I dont like traditional pizza in Italy. The atmosphere reminds makes me miss the Village in NYC, and the pizza is as closed as I have found to NY style in Seattle. The only complaint I have is that parking sucks, and the crust isnt as crispy as I like it. Otherwise, it gets a thumbs up from me

By far I think this is the best pizza in town. The closest you will get to New York style pizza...short of going there!!

Everything is great, but the restaurant gets pretty smoky. We're willing to suffer through it, but some might be turned off. The smoke is why I think it's not great for kids.

Piecora's is located on capitol hill, but the environtment is quite family friendly inside the restaurant. The food is one of the best pizzas in Seattle, and located close to shopping and weekend fun. This is one restaurant I will take my friends, family, or even co-workers to.

I used to go to Piecora's quite a bit. I soon got used to the dirt that was in my salad every time I took a bite. I never got used to the bad attitude of everyone that works there. Unfortunately, I called for delivery one time, (I was about a mile away) and the guy on the phone told me to walk. You don't want to know what I said back to him (well, maybe some of you do) , but let's just say they won't be getting my money again!

Check out the best pies on the Hill. Or, if you're on the Eastside visit the Bridle Trails Piecora's for lunch. All you can eat pizza, salad, drinks!

Makes me want to eat pizza right now!

Yes, that is right, I have driven from my home in Post Falls, Idaho, just for lunch at Piecora's. It is the best pizza I have ever had. The pizza's are huge, and you can get whatever toppings your little heart desires. The atmosphere just adds to the great taste of the pizza. I would reccomend this pizza joint to anyone looking for pizza that is never mass produced.

Had dinner at Piecoras just the other night and It Was FANTASTIC. Slices made to order, The salads were huge and NOT Soggy. The Staff as always has the best snappy wit around and they were playing my favorite song on the radio. Can you get any better?

There is nothing special about the pizza at piecora's. The waitress that seated me didn't say a word to my company and gave us a number of unpleasant looks while seating us. The waiters that served us did a little better and did seem friendly so I will give that to them. Though I've heard its very unlikely. Anyway, the pizza itself was boring. You might as well go to your local supermarket and buy a frozen DiGiorno pizza. It _will_ taste better and save you some money too. As far as pizza goes, Seattle just doesn't have it. You're Much better off going to Pagliaccis. This place does _not_ have New York style pizza. Oh yeah, and they have all these signs around the restaurant of different kinds of beers and they probably only actually serve about 1/6th of them. Pretty stupid I think. Overall, this place sucks.

30 years in NY and eight trips to Italy, I've never tasted pizza like this... It is a testament to how far North West of NY and Italy we are in Seattle that Piecora's even gets mentioned as a decent pizzaria. My highschool cafeteria did a better job. The sauce is over seasoned and under cooked ( 8 hours minimum to get the acidity out) The cheese is flavorless chewing gum and the dough tastes as if Wonderbread made it. Please take the "NY style" out of the advertizing!

Piecora deserves a much better rating than the most recent ones. I come from a place where Italian pizzas are just called pizzas and have THIN crust. For people unfamilliar with this style of pizza, it requires a fork to be eatten. What is NY style anywhy, if you eat with your finger and are disturbed by over-attentive waiters? Tasty pizzas that are a blast and a laid-back atmosphere.

Great New York style pizza, best I have found in Seattle so far. Lots of toppings and creative pizzas. DO NOT order drinks hear. Usually the person behind the register has no idea how to bartend. Last time they two count poured my whiskey, then added ice, then coke. Last time I make the misake of spending 4 dollars on a drink there.

Cons: drinks, some really bad seats, drinks

It's amusing that some people think that their pizza opinion is more valid, just because they claim to be from New York. My coffee opinion is not the final word just because I live in Seattle. The fact is that whether Piecora's is "New York style" or not is irrelevant: It's not got enough sauce, tastes like a mom-and-pop Pagliacci (not a good thing), and the service is severely lacking. If people go here because it's a convenient neighborhood pizza place, okay. Just don't claim that the pizza is anything special, because it's only a hair above what can be bought from a grocery store. Absolute cheese bread.
