5 Stars: Great food & trendy setting! (by Wendy L.)

With the booming of Japanese sushi places being this trend here in the major cities of the United States, one cannot be ignored of the many new Japanese sushi places popping up around town and Seattle is one of those world-class cities where the trend seems to be hovering amidst the dining experience. Seattle has many sushi places to offer and one of the ones that I seem to being returning to quite frequently is Japanese Gourmet (Ajinobo). This restaurant is one of my regular lunch haunts, but I had dinner recently and was again very impressed. Even when they are busy, service is always prompt most of the time; one thing they never lack is sufficient wait staff. For lunch, it's wise to come before noon for fastest service, but even after noon, it's usually not that hard to get a table. I think they do most of their business at lunch because it's always busy then; when I was there for dinner there were no more than half the tables occupied at most. But the turnover was pretty good (there were plenty of patrons. I was there for about 2 hours and it was a steady stream, both for sit-down and at the sushi bar. It's a trendy and modern place; they have some nice outside seating in the courtyard section, which we enjoy in the afternoon. Japanese Gourmet is conveniently located within the Pike Place Market area and is worth the trip if you happen to be around that area.
