Many years ago I came out of the Social Security Admin's office directly next door to Markel. I was applying for a new card because my wallet had been stolen. I had just realized that it was a half day at my daughter's school -- she was in 1st grade -- and that she must be sitting outside waiting for me. I ran inside Markel to ask if I could please use their phone, it was an emergency. The RUDE woman looked me straight in the eye and said, "NO!!! You can go right back over to the WELFARE office and use THEIR phone!" I was so offended and flabberghasted that I just looked at her and walked out in shock. And for anyone who knows me, I am rarely speechless. I wouldn't call them if they were the last place on earth that could help me.
