We moved into our 1947 home knowing we'd want to remodel the kitchen. We called a number of remodelers asking for bids. Only two agreed to come and look at the house, amazing considering the state of the economy. The bids for both were only $15,000 apart. However, City Builders included in their bid moving the back door and flipping the stairs to the basement 180 degrees, both changes I'd asked for and the other builder felt were a waste of time. Additionally, Gordon of City Builders suggested a layout change which took under utilized space and created a 5x5 foot pantry, which we are excited by. We've hired them to do the work, which is almost complete. The quality is excellent. We've been pleased with Greg (the crew chief), Justin (built the cabinets) and Sid (the painter). When we weren't thrilled with the drywall sub-contractor, City Builders asked they not come back to our site and stated they'd deduct $25 an hour from their payment for the extra clean-up that occurred as a result of the drywaller's work. We used City Builders 20 years ago for a prior kitchen remodel, and we still are pleased with the work they did then.
