My wife and I found ourselves in Bothell one early evening with a graving for Indian food. I have been to many Indian restaurants in the area and to India several times. Tandoori Fire Cuisine of India is your average run-of-the-mill Indian restaurant with a very typical selection of dishes - nothing surprising. The place looks & feels outdated and the overall atmosphere is just okay (not the spot for a romantic dinner).

The waitress was friendly and the food arrived quickly. It was tasty but, again, nothing special. The place is okay if you find yourself in the Bothell area and are looking for Indian food. However, if you are looking for good food and a better atmosphere, a drive south on Lake City Way to some of the places in the U district is well worth it.

Pros: Location, quick service

Cons: Atmosphere, average food

This was my 1st visit to Tandoori Fire, and I held high hopes for the food (even with the so so review that it already had.) Unfortunately the food just seemed average to me. the Tandoori chicken was ok, it didn't stand out, it was a little on the oily side but at least it wasn't all dried out. The chicken tikka masala was only lightly spiced, if there hadn't been a sign there saying it was tikka masala I would have probably mistaken it for a weak curry, not the very tandoori-ish flavor you usually get from chicken tikka-masala. The Kuchumber salad didn't have any cumin in it at all like I am used to from other Indian restraunts, salt and pepper seemed to be the only seasoning in it.

The Potato salad they had had a very nice flavor to it, and had other fine chopped veggies in it (scallion, i believe some carrot also)

I will definately give Tandoori fire a couple more tries to see if it improves.

This trip took the edge off my craving for Indian food, but did not sate it.

I have been to this place a handful of times- mainly due to the location. Every time I have been there the food tastes completely different. The first time, I didn't want to come back- but I did and it was amazing. Then the third was bad and so on. When it is good it is really good otherwise the obvious. Take your chance, you may be lucky.

Pros: Clean, good food sometimes

Cons: Inconsistent

.

The food was bland, soup-like and did not seem fresh or in any way accenting the normally wonderful flavors of the primary ingredients. This was very disappointing, since it is the only Indian restaurant in the Kenmore area. I'll stick to the Seattle and Eastside establishments for now. Service was fairly good.

Perhaps just a bad night or inexperienced cook?

Pros: Not in Seattle metro, friendly staff

Cons: Sub-par food
